From their large warehouse, you can "shop the store" or order your own custom furniture. Their customer service and sales people are friendly and are willing to assist you with all of your purchases. We worked with several sales associates, but the one that went over and above helping us was Molly. She not only helped us but also assisted my sister-in-law, who is also new to the area, with their furniture selections for her entire house, and it all turned out beautifully. Never had an issue with safety. The apartment was clean. The value is tremendous. Rent is insanely affordable. The size of the apartment was HUGE. Utilities were standard. Noise was as expected, but never an issue. Staff was super helpful and friendly, and they actually care about you as a person! The complex is 5 min. away from Golds Gym, plenty of restaurants and grocery stores, and only about 11 min. from Anderson University. Our entire experience at The Hamptons was about as perfect as it gets. I highly recommend it, especially for college students looking for affordable living that isn't far from anything.

Anyways, the people in the front office came across as rude more often than not. They were also hard to get in touch with, unless they needed something from you! This place is advertised as "luxury apartments"? No idea where they got luxury from. Everything is very basic, and nothing has been updated since it was built. I once got fined for putting my trash out (which IS a nice service that you pay monthly for), at 4:45 because I was leaving for work and it was 15 minutes earlier than the assigned time. That's fine, I can totally understand that. But then I also got fined another time when the trash was picked up and they put a hole in the bag. I still have the email claiming that they know they put the hole in the bag, but we were fined because it was "too heavy". We were kicked out of our own pool that we paid to use. After talking to others there, that is not an uncommon occurrence. The pool monitor that comes around every hour or so always seemed to have an attitude! They also leave out just enough in the lease to where they can charge you large amounts for things they feel like charging for when you move out. We were charged nearly 1,800 dollars for new carpet in a 2 bedroom apt. when we left. It was probably a few tenants old when we moved in. We even had it cleaned before we left, and it was in the same if not better condition than when we moved in other than normal tread by the door for old carpet. I guess we were just the lucky ones that got to pay when we left! My sisters car was hit in the parking lot.. twice. Hardly ever any parking. And the downstairs neighbors were loud with their "activities" that you could hear all hours of the day and night. Sometimes even on the back deck. We had to complain many times and nothing was ever done. The location is decent, especially for college kids that got to AU, though it is hard to get in and out of during busy times. The facilities are decent. The actual apartment was okay. I'm a super laid back person, I've lived in other apartments in Anderson and have never had issues. But it seemed like every time I turned around it was something at this place. Overall, I truly would NOT recommend. Especially for the price.

I've left a few messages that have never been returned and the leasing office hours are basically 9-5, making it difficult to catch them in person if you work a normal job. There's a bit of a strange mix of people living here: college students, working professionals, families, retirees. Most are nice but some can be obnoxious (upstairs neighbors who consistently thought vacuuming at 2am was cool). My biggest complaint is in regards to maintenance. About a week before my move out date, my shower stopped working. Despite multiple calls, it was not fixed before my move out date. That's just unacceptable! Even if I'm leaving soon, I'd like to be clean. Overall, it an adequate place to live but I'm sure there are better places.

After arriving, we realized there were no windows in the master - by law, this cannot be considered a bedroom. Yet, we are still paying for a 3-bedroom apartment. Lastly, we spend most nights lying awake because every step that is taken in the apartment above ya causes our ceiling to shake & squeak loudly. It's impossible to get any rest here. The walls & ceilings are so thin, I don't know how this is a reasonable place to find rest.
