Realized one afternoon that our garage torsion spring was broken on one side. I reached out to a…read morefew businesses to get a quote and immediately I get a response from SGD within minutes. I was informed of a price around $200-300 for single or both springs, plus labor (which many places would not provide unless I had them come out first). It seems like the price could vary depending on the garage door style, size, and weight. Also, another place had quoted me $485 right off the bat therefore this was the best option so far. They let me know that the technician would have all the necessary parts and tools for whatever option I go with (very convenient). Technician Sam called me to notify he was on the way and when he arrived outside. Upon arrival, he inspected our garage and said it would be more than quoted since I had a heavy door (~$400-500). He provided us with two different priced options, differing in expected lifespan and labor (~$100) warranties. The job was estimated to take around 30 mins, depending on if there was complications with the existing parts. Sam was very professional and knowledgeable with all the mechanics and components. He let us know more about what we had installed and what could potentially fail or cause us issues in the future. He also gave us recommendations on how to properly maintain the garage door to prolong it's functionality and life. After we made our choice, he began working right away. During this time, he came to get our attention and let us know that the bearings needed to be replaced soon and we just asked him to do them since it was already disassembled and the labor cost was flat rate. It all ended up taking closer to an hour, and despite the higher than anticipated expense... we felt very assured and satisfied with the outcome we received. We love supporting family owned businesses, especially when they provide great quality and service! Highly recommend.

Not very impressed with how they do business. Currently in the process of opening a new restaurant…read moreand had an idea to install a garage type door as a window and have a bar top that's butts up against it. It would completely open up and give the guests a feel for being outside with a nice breeze. When I messaged this company they immediately wanted to schedule a site visit. I have all of the measurements (because the opening hasn't been made yet and is being made to my specs) but could provide all of the info they would need to come to the site for, and it was just completely unnecessary. They were pretty pushy and basically didn't have any answers. I would ask them, then they would have to ask someone else? You don't know how much your services cost? After they finally gave me a quote, I asked them to also provide pricing for just the door with installation, no opener, and they told me that if I had anymore questions then I needed to call. Simple question, simple answer. Also, why would you have people responding bro Yelp messages that don't know how to provide rough estimates? A little advice from someone who is in business myself - teach the people answering yelp messages about your pricing, and focus more on customer service than winning the job. Because of my interaction with you, someone else (who was more expensive) is getting my business.

I called this company told them I was storing a garage full of furniture for a family member and that it would be hard for him to get in. When I called I was told he could come out right away after leaving another job and he was there promptly. The third door still worked so he squeezed in through that area and was able to replace the spring right when he was there. He saved us having to unload half the garage and putting the stuff on our driveway. The owner was awesome and we hope to have him come back out at another time to put in a 2nd Spring which is recommended. We are so pleased that we will be recommending him to others and we know lots of Real Estate agents in the area that need work done on homes. Thanks for being prompt and professional.

I had used Precision 5 years ago to do maintenance and repair a spring and was very impressed with…read moretheir knowledge and service. I called them because I needed a new remote and wanted a tune-up since it had been 5 years ago. I was having no issues with my door or old garage door opening other than not being very quiet. The experience this time was totally disappointing. First the van that pulled up was Smoky's Garage Door Service which the person told me was just bought out by Precision Door. Dave N. was the technician. He was on time and friendly but he pushed so many costly upsells even when I told him all I needed as a tuneup and a new remote since my wife had taken ours to Colorado accidently. He pushed (albeit in a friendly manner) an upsell of ~$2000. When I reiterated what I wanted today he proceeded to charge me $190 for lube and tuneup and then $180 for replacement of a single remote programmed. I told him I needed to get other quotes and found out that there a number of other companies with higher ratings with much cheaper costs for a tuneup (about 1/3-1/2 of the cost at Precision) and new remotes (1/2 the cost of Precision) I will not be recommending them to anyone else. So disappointing. I did send management a message today but did not hear anything back.
