The food was ready, fresh, and hot in a matter of about three minutes! A friendly efficient young lady passed it through the window to us and took our payment. I was pretty impressed at their operation as far as that went. My son's order was correct but I think they might've given me a junior burger or something? It turned out it was fine because there was quite a bit of food there. Hush puppies were in fact pretty good. The "Cajun Fries" were just crinkle cut fries with some kind of spicy, salty powder sprinkled on them after they put the fries in the styrofoam container. The tiny burger was tasty, and the burgers taste like they are flame broiled. Pretty good! Overall, the food was pretty good. My experience would've been a lot better if the intercom and order taker had been little bit better, so keep that in mind if you go here. The drive-through only business is not for me, but for college kids and people who just want to get something to eat on the way home I think it's fine. So, they may not have the rum cake I ordered, and they may be having some issues with their technology... but it seems like they have really delicious baked goods (according to other reviews), and they are working to solve the other problem. So, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.** I wish I had pictures to prove this..... but here is my experience. I placed an order for their rum cake ($45 for a Bundt cake). I did this through their website and it said it would be available to pick up at 11:50 a.m. I paid using their Squarespace website. I got a confirmation email, and was so excited because this is what my hubby wanted for his bday. I was just about to leave to pick it up at 1:15pm, when I got a call from the bakery saying "we don't know what your ordered, but you need to cancel the payment because we don't use our website. We only take orders over the phone or in person." What???? If you don't use it, why is it active? Turn it the eff off. It's very simple to do- I know bc I have used several Squarespace websites. This should be the end of my rant- but wait! It gets so much better! I proceeded to give them my order over the phone.... They told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I should have asked myself how they would bake a cake in 30 minutes- but, I'm a glutton for punishment.... And instead drove 30 minutes from my house to go get the desired rum cake. When I got there to pick it up- it was a 9" two layer cake with frosting. That is not a rum cake, nor is it what is pictured on their website! When I said, that isn't what I ordered- the response was "well, this is our rum cake". I left without the cake. And, now I have to contact my credit card company to dispute a charge that they claim they won't receive. Also- in case you're looking for quality, freshly made cakes..... they have 5 gallon buckets in their cooler at the front with long stem roses in them..... the buckets have labels on them that say "Sam's vanilla whipped icing". I have made future customers from everyone I had try it but I hope they don't receive a bad experience because I truly believe in this company and their product.
