I am on my 5th and final year of studying at Outwood Grange Academy. Few very of the teachers are very supportive and aim to help students achieve the grades they want. However, the general performance of the school is terrible. The school stereotype students, discipline students for one-off mistakes such as a forgetting a book. They also do not encourage student individuality. The grades the school achieve overall are above the national average, however this is because the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), push students purely for their own reputation of the school as a whole. The school mainly focus on discipline rather than praise, therefore they push away high-achieving students, to focus on the less intelligent students. Furthermore, the school claim to have a motto of "Students First", however very few students make it to the "Student Voice Team", and very little of their opinions are put forward into the general school performance, which to many of us students, is ironic. There are plenty more negative aspects of the school, with very few positive remarks. I wouldn't recommend this school for secondary education, or sixth-form, as your student will be pushed into a narrow category without a true voice or opinion. read more
