Aloha Whistler delivered. Pictures and descriptions online always leave me with a little doubt. And properties are rarely as good in real life as they are online (like any of us). But in this case the place we rented at Cedar Hollow was exactly as advertised and then some. They were extremely responsive, answered every one of my countless annoying questions with grace ("where should I get a massage? How far is the trail from the house? Can I get groceries delivered*?, Can we get in early?" etc). The service was fantastic and I would absolutely rent through them again. Then even left a bottle of wine and birthday card for me when we arrived. I would highly recommend them. *For grocery delivery, check out Nesters Market and ask for Gerry!

Every woman I corresponded with, either by email or on the phone, was kind and responsive. When we needed something, they were there for us, even going so far as to bring a new BBQ when ours wasn't working and their maintenance man (who came pronto) was not able to repair it. Their recommendations were spot on. But, mostly it was their stellar attitudes and desire for our family to have a wonderful Whistler experience that makes them stand out.

It proved a very nice, well designed, well furnished townhouse-style home. We were very happy with the unit. As for the 'Property Management Company' (aka Whistler Wired), they're another story. After receiving payment and collecting damage deposit in their office in Whistler village, Whistler Wired was done with us. They said thanks with a hand-shake and a 6-pack of the locally brewed Whistler Beer and sent us on our way. (NB: I recommend the Whistler Brewery beer, as it certainly left a better taste in my mouth than my experience with Wired... and no i don't work for the Brewery!) If we had any idea of how mischievous Wired was going to be regarding keeping as much of our $2000 deposit as they could, we would have certainly rented elsewhere. We acknowledge their contract reads "$1000 fine will be imposed if a noise warning is deemed valid by Wired", however their use of the word "warning" is remains abstract. I guess they get to make their own definitions. It turns out we made an unacceptable amount of noise after the 10pm curfew, as I presume would be expected when in Whistler. However, and here is where they got mischievous, rather than calling us on the phone number we provided to them, or even sending us an email to the email address that they had previously contacted us on, as to "warn" us, one of the Wired team-members simply showed up at our rental unit and proceeded to impose a $1000 fine against our deposit. Done and done. Just like that. So where was the "warning"!? Nowhere to be found. Up to you fellow google-users to believe or not, however if you (as we) get a formal phone call warning that you are violating a noise curfew, you (as we) would abide by turning down the noise level, especially when $1000 is on the line. One simple phone call could have solved the issue. But where is Wired's profit in offering a warning? Whistler Wired deliberately made the cognizant decision to avoid providing a noise warning to us as so they had grounds to fine us $1000. How do you feel about about a business that operates with such slimy tactics to fill their pockets? My advise & conclusion: If you decide to utilize Whistler Wired's property management services, prepare for them to find some dishonest way of utilizing their contract against you to maximize their profit, and maximize your loss. Will i stay with them again: NOPE!

You have to be careful with Whistler Premier. It seems they rent a lot of properties, many in…read morereputable developments, but Whistler Premier's suites can be quite beaten down. We stayed in Painted Cliff #29. It was reasonably priced (for Whistler). There's a reason for that. The positive: It was, in fact, a ski-in-ski-out property (even in a terrible snow year, in the spring), with a hot tub and parking included. It did have two full bedrooms, which at the price we paid (still crazy but not for Whistler), is a bargain. The negative: There's a reason why it's reasonably priced. The unit is dated and our condo hadn't been updated in decades. Beyond the dated decoration, that means that while the whole development is now officially non-smoking, it wasn't in the past. #29 definitely had a smoking owner in the past. You can smell it when you walk in -- it's that smell of old concrete '60s and '70s hotels where smoking happened for decades and then they tried to cover it up with some sort of cheap spray that didn't really do the job. So the whole time you have to live with the smell of cheap spray with a strong undertone of cigarette smoke. Also, Whistler Premier doesn't clean or maintain its properties very well. The decaying doormat said it all at the entry. The washroom, kitchen counters, and glasses were clean. But none of the cookware was: to cook, we had to scrub all the dirty pans first. There was a real fireplace but all the tools were broken. Also, though their in-room materials said they had left a fire log, they did not. And the wifi information on the in-room materials was outdated. The mattresses were old, hard, and very cheap. Don't expect a good night's sleep when any move in the bed creaks, and you have to move a lot because the mattress is so bad. Pillows were completely flat. Even my kid, who will sleep anywhere, complained about her bed. On top of it all, though not necessarily Whistler Premier's fault (except for renting the least desirable units in older developments): #29 is right next to the hot tub, which is great until you have to listen to kids banging the gate shut repeatedly as they run in and out, or to adults partying later at night. The parking spots assume that everyone drives a Smart car -- they're not wide enough for normal cars. We had to use visitor parking because the owner in the spot next to us yelled at us because she couldn't get out of her minivan (which was her fault for insisting on backing in -- we were parked as far over as we could go in our space but the car on the other side of her space was parked over the line and she couldn't get out on that side). It was fine for a reasonably priced, 2- night getaway to Whistler. But it wouldn't work for longer.

At this price point, we reasonably expected a premium, in-town ski accommodation and professional, transparent management. On the day of arrival, after we were already traveling, Peter contacted us to state that the unit had flooded. This information was provided at the last possible moment, leaving us without a meaningful opportunity to secure alternative lodging during peak ski season. We were then presented with replacement options that were not comparable to what we had booked. One option was a house approximately 15 minutes outside of Whistler Village. The other was a visibly worn, substandard hotel that was multiple tiers below the accommodation originally contracted. We agreed to the house only after Peter stated that he would cover a rental car to offset the location. That cost was not covered upfront as promised. Instead, we were told reimbursement would occur later. The replacement house was not in acceptable condition. Over the course of the week, we encountered and removed more than 25 spiders throughout the property, which materially affected the comfort and suitability of the stay. The most concerning issue arose on our final day. We went to the Montebello condo we were originally booked to stay in and encountered a family who informed us they had been occupying the unit for approximately one week. This directly contradicts the flooding explanation we were given and raises serious questions regarding the accuracy and truthfulness of the information provided to us. Taken together, the timing of the notice, the lack of comparable replacement accommodations, the unfulfilled commitments, and the conflicting explanation regarding the original unit create the appearance of a bait-and-switch scenario rather than an unavoidable emergency. This experience reflects a significant lack of transparency, accountability, and professionalism. The conduct demonstrated throughout our booking and stay was unacceptable for a transaction of this magnitude and resulted in the loss of trust that is essential in high-value travel arrangements. I strongly advise travelers planning a Whistler ski trip to exercise extreme caution when booking through this individual and to prioritize accommodations with verifiable, professional management and clear accountability.

After a thorough review and stay, I've chosen to update my review of Whistler Superior Properties -…read morethe management company of the rental we stayed in. In a nutshell, this is a horrible company with terribly unkind staff. I'll attach pictures to show as such. I had several challenges with the room itself, however, upon Dan (the owner's comments) I've elected to update my review (Hi Dan!). In terms of property management companies, the company does not provide a professional nor clean stay (see photos including unidentified puke like substance behind nightstand, trash behind furniture, broken lights, hair in the shower- I'm blonde so explain away Dan). When staff were asked questions, their responses were rude and inconsiderate of what was being stated i.e. "I read the form it doesn't make sense" and their reply was repeatedly "did you read the form". I have a doctorate, I read the form, it doesn't make sense. See attached photos that show that Whistler Superior Properties is not offering what was advertised nor upkeeping what was promised. This is not a clean property nor is this property as advertised as we did not have hottub access. As an owner (Dan), to be attacked for our profession (which has nothing to do with being a guest) upon providing an honest review, is unacceptable. As a professional in mental health, it is my hope that you reflect on constructive criticism as a means for growth. There's plenty of room for growth and development here. We provided feedback on the company's inability to fulfill their promises as publically advertised. It is my hope that you review the photos, review Dan's comments and recognize this property only cares about money and not about people or feedback.

Where to start with this "lovely" property. Looking at the past reviews, first one being from 2017…read morestating that the appliances and decor were lackluster 6 years ago...just providing an update here...THEY STILL HAVEN'T CHANGED. Bea from 2013 also commented on the springs coming through the pull-out couch....we had the same issue with our unit. Our choices were rock hard mattress or springs....either way it was not a pleasant night of sleep during our entire stay. Reading the description of the property and the "amenities" provided, this property is NOT "ski in ski out." Whoever thinks this on the property management team needs to get with the times as the closest lift is at LEAST a 10 minute walk from this place. If you do not book directly through the property site, understand that you will not have the privilege of staying in a specific unit. If you are like me and my wife, and went through another site, your odds of getting anything decent are slim. The "valued" staffed (see my review directly on their site) are rude, unhelpful, and the owner/manager (Hi again Dan! Hope you enjoy this read, bud) struggles to accept feedback and the opinions of guests for what they are by responding with attacking and condescending remarks. Deflection is a great skill this human has as none of the concerns were appropriately addressed. The room we rented for a week was gross, disgusting, and unclean. Hair was on the wall in the shower, utensils were dirty, trash was behind the bed, and the headboard was definitely broken. OH! Let's not forget the puke-looking stain tucked away in the corner in the bedroom. Appliances were outdated and old. Don't bother trying out the bathtub jets as there isn't enough hot water to fill the tub even above the jets to use. If you settle for a luke warm bath after being OUTSIDE ALL DAY, get your noise-cancelling headphones because the jets are loud and sound like something is going to explode. Definitely don't run the tub after quiet hours. Same goes for the washing machine/dryer, which are also outdated and incredibly loud. The room we rented definitely had an old-musty smell to it, despite the cleaning staff having just been in there prior to us having access. (See above problems with cleanliness in the room (Dan neglected to address these issues when we were there during our stay). Be mindful of what you are booking if you ever decide to stay at this property as you could easily be misled into booking something that isn't what it seems. Pictures of our unit were manipulated to seem larger and nicer than what they actually were (photographer did a great job...the only person that was there that actually did their job well). If I could rate this property lower, I would given the price you have to pay to stay here for outdated furnishings, appliances, and decor that doesn't make any sense at all. Please look into other properties as there are a TON of options in the village that are closer, cleaner, and have much friendlier and helpful staff.
