Very, very unprofessional. Started working with Evan and TJ to get my little brother involved in…read morethe team. TJ became the main coach and then things went down hill. Last minute practice cancellations, tournament cancellations, lack of communication. We had practice and tournaments scheduled for the second half of the season and then an entire month of practice was cancelled right after we paid $350. We decided a week later we would be leaving the team because of the unstable future of the team. TJ said he would pay me back the $350 but only when he had the money (how could you spend money on tournaments and coaching if they literally haven't even happened?). This money was supposed to be for the second half of the season. I have been reaching out for 9 months trying to get my money back that he has promised he would send me, but he has only sent $225 of my $350. He has finally blocked my number and Evan refuses to respond to me. UPDATE: Both TJ and Evan have blocked by phone number. I don't wish any ill intention, I'd just like the remaining $125 back. Happy to remove this review if my money is paid back, no questions asked.

TJ is an incredible coach that takes the time to not only help my son succeed on the court but off it as well with grades. Because of his mentorship, my son played high school varsity basketball as a sophomore and has improved every year. He also has taken school seriously with a 4.0 GPA and a lot of that has to do with Coach TJs "grades to play" rule. Also a big shout out to Coach Evan who has been my son's coach for tournament play the last 2 seasons and does a great job. After reading the 1 review on here I was compelled to add my review to contradict what that person is saying. On a final note, Clutch Elite is one of the more affordable programs out there for AAU and the two main coaches (TJ and Evan) aren't doing this simply to make money and milk the players familes so they can live lavish lifestyles. Both of them have other full time jobs besides coaching. They care about the kids and it shows with their coaching and mentorship.

What an amazing coach and purposeful training we have at HKC! While the kids learn skills that are…read moremore typically seen on the professional level (all because it's the world our coach comes from himself), it's so much more. At HKC, they keenly focus on helping the kids establish a firm foundation they could use both on and off the court. Drills and games are infused with intentional equipping and building of their endurance -- physically, mentally, and relationally. (Seriously, what good is a skillful player if they exemplify poor sportsmanship or take others down around them!) Differentiated attention is given to each child --- they're encouraged when encountering setbacks, and spurred forward to continuously push beyond their immediate limits. In a span of a few months, my middle-schooler progressed from being new to the sports scene with no prior experience in volleyball, to now being settled in and preparing for the upcoming tournament season. More importantly, character matters that naturally emerge on the court are systematically addressed. As a mom, I can't be more grateful to watch my child thrive in such a healthy environment and led by the steady leadership of a skilled coach with such deep wisdom and attunement. Steve, a heartfelt thanks and appreciation for how you faithfully pour out so much of yourself. And HKC team at large, thank you for bringing in the structure and support so it's possible to more widely share this wonderful gift we're all partaking in!

His gift of showing the kids that volleyball as a sport can be fun and rewarding but it is secondary to what it can teach you about life. Determination, confidence and positive mindset. He encourages the kids to take chances and to go for it without punishment for making a mistake. He has genuine concern and care for each child he coaches. We consider him a mentor and a friend. He is open and honest so you know he is not telling what you as a parent what to hear about your kid. Glad that we found Steve and have worked with him and will continue to work with.

I have never seen a program for children to be so politically run in my entire life. My family has…read morebeen in little league baseball for over 40 years and now that my grand children are playing I find the individuals in charge only getting worse instead of better. The president, board members and most of the coaches could care less about the sport or any talent that a child may have - unless it is their own child. Most of their children are not as skilled or passionate as they believe them to be and overlook the children that have great passion, skill and dedication for the game. I believe if parents took the time to investigate the organization they might consider registering their children with a different league. This organization just finished the all-star teams selection and from the complaints/concerns voiced from a lot of the families, I see that we are not the only ones who are still scratching their heads at the selections and comments made from the assigned coaches. It appears as though if you are a coaches son or a favorite of a coach regardless of passion then you're a shoe in. If coaches and assistant coaches can't be fair to all of their players then they should not be involved in little league. This sport is for the children and should never be used to inflate a coaches ego. After speaking with several of the families it is clear that we are all hoping things will change next year when most of these coaches are gone. For the childrens sake I hope we are right.
