I made a few inquiries with different people and after being ignored completely by some and given very expensive estimates by others, I came across Matthew with Southern Scapes. I left my information for an estimate and he got back to me very promptly with what I thought was a very good estimate. He even said he would come out the very next day. Once I gave him my address, because he maintains other yards in the neighborhood, he lowered his price even more from his original estimate. I was floored, but super happy. He let me know he was coming the next morning and was right on time. His communication with me was excellent and before he left, he made sure everything was to my satisfaction. Not only that, but our backyard was full of piled leaves from the Winter... he said he planned to mulch them up and get the yard cleaned up so we can get some grass growing. He treated our yard like it was his own. He even said he would spray our flower beds, the ditch and around the trees at no additional charge. He and his companion weed eated around the entire property and blew everything off nice and clean. I dare say the yard has never looked this good. I am so happy to have found them. They exceeded my expectations in every single way. I almost can't wait for the grass to grow so they can come back! The crew was also respectful of our house and took care to clean up the job site when they were finished. We trusted them enough to give them a key to the house so they could access the restroom during the day and store their equipment at night. The work they did is beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Upon inspection, he had left all of the bush stubs up to 6" long sticking up out of the ground, knowing full well this was for our pets. When we asked him to finish the job, he wanted an additional $400.00...I messaged him that I believed that he knew what was required and wanted the job to be completed at the agreed on price. I got NO reply. I would never hired him at $1000.00 for this small area. I would not recommend him to anyone. Bad quality work!
