Our 43' Solitude fit perfectly and they said it was their smallest site. I could tell how level when our outdoor kitchen and front storage area were both at the perfect height. We had enough room to park our 22' truck and another vehicle in our site although there is additional parking. Lots of shade through most of the day due to many mature trees. It is plenty dark and quiet there at night with hardly no light pollution near you can see almost all the stars you can see from earth. I suggest bringing quality binoculars or even a telescope to enjoy the stars. Check out the picture I took of the night sky from there with just an iPhone. There is an interstate near but it is not heavily traveled especially at night. You can barely hear it. Water & electric hookups only with a dump station. If your tanks can't hold during your time, you can bring a portable dump tank or they have a truck fitted with a dump tank to drain your tank. The owners are super nice and accommodating. Our 14 y/o son said it is now his favorite campground. Him and his friend got up early on their own every morning to go fishing in the stocked pond. Looks like we've found our new "go to" campground with beautiful picnic tables. Pricing is super reasonable. They said their intent and motivation was to create a campground like camping used to be without your neighbor within arms reach.

The staff at the fuel dock takes great care of the boat and I can go to the ships store for any parts. They have the largest boat life around at 70 ton so big houseboats and yachts are not a problem. It is probably the most expensive marina around but the amenities make it worth it. They also have 3 swimming pools and condo rentals as well as boat rentals. AND a wedding/meetings venue on site.

We stayed at the recently renovated Holiday House, and it was fantastic! There were 5 adults and 1 toddler, and we had so much space, with the little one able to even have her own room. And a big enough space that no one woke her when she went to bed earlier than the rest of us! From the patio lighting to the fire pit, it was just such an inviting experience. And everyone was so kind and helpful. While we're from the area, we came into town for a wedding in Paducah, and even though it was a little bit of a drive, I would do it 100x over to get to stay at Holiday Hills. An extreme amount ticks at the campground. Never experienced so many while camping. Three families and pets were picking them off left and right. My family stayed in spot 40 in this campground and we had friends on spot 41 and right across the…read moredrive in spot 4. The back of site 40 and 41 overlook Lake Barkley. It was beautiful. The water is not accessible from the sites...we were told it is a 60' cliff into the water but we didn't venture close enough to the edge to confirm that. Site 4 felt safer (since we had kids in our group) as it didn't back up to the edge. All of our sites had a little deck near the camper pad but our deck was in a little disrepair (some rotten boards). The sites had electric and water and all had fire rings, too. On the way to the sites (once we were inside the park) the road seemed overgrown and I was wondering if we were heading to the right place. It's definitely tucked away but was a peaceful, mostly empty (maybe because of the raininess of the weekend), campsite. The bathhouse was nice. The showers were a little small but the water was nice and HOT! There was a bit of cobwebs but overall, they really weren't too bad! There is a an area outside each shower with a bench and hooks for towels and clothes. The playground had tape around it (maybe from Covid?) so we didn't use that. There was a dumpster near the bathrooms. Our kids went on some trails, but we didn't go with them, so I can't comment on the trails. On the way out of town, we went to the beach. There's so much potential there but I wasn't impressed at all. It was disappointing. The sand turns into somewhat stinky mud by the time you get to the water line and overall the place looked unkept - some broken picnic tables, overgrown grass, weeds popping all over the nice concrete padded area by the bathrooms. I thought there would be showers, but there is just one outdoor shower good enough for a quick rinse. The bathrooms/shower house at the beach smelled clean (someone even came to clean them while we were there) but overall it was just not nice. The beach just seemed like a place that, in its heyday, would have been so great. Since this review is more about the campsites than the beach, I am not taking the beach into too much consideration. The couple that stays at the site are very nice. They came and introduced themselves to us and gave us a map of the trails and the park. On our way out they have us a hearty wave and asked us to come back soon. The campground was a nice place to camp. We had a great weekend!
