There is a lot of construction currently going on outside of the (really huge) building so parking can be a little confusing but that is a temporary hiccup. One of the things I appreciate most about this school is the atmosphere--it's calm, happy, and well-organized. It's rare to walk in and see children crying or stressed, which is a stark contrast to other facilities I toured that often felt overcrowded and chaotic. Anytime we've had a concern, we've reached out via email and received a response within 24 hours. More importantly, issues are addressed promptly and thoughtfully. It's clear that this school is run by people who genuinely love children, and we feel incredibly grateful to have found such a nurturing environment for our son. Very solid Computer Science program (that's what I'm graduating from) with lots of employeers coming here to recruit. I had no problems finding a good job. She knew just what I needed when I needed it - offering counterpressure, words of encouragement and solicited advice and education, snacks, water, and recommendations for other professionals in her network that may be able to help me (i.e. chiropractic, pelvic floor therapy, lactation, etc.) With this being my second birth and first with the support of a doula, I can say with confidence that having a birthing team you trust is fundamental for a positive experience. I switched providers and hired a Kirsten at 33 weeks to have the care and support team I wanted, needed, and deserved and I truly believe that had Kirsten not been a part of my birthing team, my VBAC experience would not have been possible (as in, I would have had a cesarean). If you are on the fence about hiring Kirsten, pull. the. trigger!! She is the best of the best and you deserve that, mama.
