It was equipped with a very nice fire pit and a large stack of firewood included in the price. One staff member led us to our site in a golf cart, and another was already there to guide me while backing in. I have never before had this level of parking assistance! One of our slides jammed when we tried to extend it. The owner and two or three of his staff spent at least an hour trying to help us. We didn't have any luck, but the staff recommended a local mobile RV repair guy who was on site in about an hour and solved the problem. The park's cable TV service is head and shoulders above anything else we have ever seen. The area is full of natural beauty, and there are many places to get delicious food within a five to ten minute drive. Need groceries? Publix, Ingles, and Food Lion are just 15 minutes away, and Walmart about 20 minutes. Cross Creek RV Park is a great example of Western North Carolina hospitality at it's finest!

I sent my husband to put on a load of laundry and this lady refused to give him change unless he had $10.00 and then she would give him a roll of quarters. I don't feel like we should have had to do that just to get change. They had 6 dryers but only 2 would work and we had to dry our clothes on high 3 times. We were also set up beside a pop up tent and I watched one of the grounds keepers go to the tent while the ppl were away and stick his head inside look around and then zip it back up and drive off. Not weird at all. Lol The power flipped off and there wasn't a message put up on the app to tell us it had went off or come back on. But we knew it went off because we were there. Nobody could tell us anything at all. Honestly the place just wasn't kept up to the standards that I had heard they once were. Shower house had dead spiders everywhere. Pool was already closed and I'm not sure what they are calling a splash pad because all I seen was a blue and orange thing that shoots water out the side and it was closed as well. We just didn't have a good experience at all. Would not go back if someone paid for it.

Everyone we met were friendly.This is a pet friendly park as well as the management personnel who are friendly and helpful. This park is open year long so there are several residents living here full time. We got the last open space when we reserved our site so we had neighbors on all four sides. When making reservations, six months in advance would be recommended. Try to secure a space on the outer perimeter where there is either an open meadow or creek for your backyard. This is the perfect park during the "leaf-peeping" season (October).

Unfortunately, where they moved us was next to the sewage dump center on the opposite end of the campground. We are in site G5 this smell of sewage is absolutely disgusting and it comes in gusts. The other RVs around us were very unhappy as well. We like the campground, but do not stay on that end. I spoke to the manager and it was passed off as nothing they could do.

While there we take the kids to Tube World for the snow-tubing, over to the Cataloochee Ski Area, and general sightseeing around this beautiful mountain area. There are plenty of good food options nearby. We really like the breakfasts at Joey's Pancake House and yes they serve other delicious food besides pancakes. The Best Western Mountainbrook Inn is a very nice Best Western and what you should expect from this brand. The rooms are ample size, clean, and the staff is always very helpful. The exterior of the property provides good parking and easy access to the rooms. The Best Western Mountainbrook is centrally located on the Maggie Valley strip and is a short drive to Lake Junaluska or the Cherokee India Reservation. We recommend the Best Western Mountainbrook and hope that you will have a fun time in Maggie Valley as we do each time we visit there.
