I am not normally a fan of hotel restaurants but this place had exceptional food and great service. It was the best thing we ate in Bethany Beach. The fried whole fish was delicious but the take away stand out dish was the beet salad and the crab soup. Those were must haves. However, the cost of over $600/night is absolutely absurd given the dismal service, lack of cleanliness and general lack of anything resembling luxury. We called before we came and were told the pool was closed. However they noted beach towels were available and beach chairs and umbrellas would be available daily starting at 8am. When we arrived we found no beach towels were available (except for purchase). We clearly own beach towels and would have brought them had we not been misinformed. We were also told upon arrival that the beach chairs aren't available until 10 AM. However I decided to ask the actual chair and umbrella employees who informed me that the start time was actually 9 AM. The front desk didn't seem to care (or note) that they were repeatedly given out false information. With young kids, that hour makes a difference. The lobby bathrooms were poorly maintained (trash on the floors, dirty toilet seats, and no toilet paper to be seen). The breakfast had a vast variety of foods but they were rarely restocked so you weren't able to actually enjoy many of them. Coffee ran out multiple times. Also flies ruled the school at the buffet. The floors were sticky and it is very clear that the hotel is understaffed (oh, and the staff talk to you about it...incessantly) Covid has changed the game for many businesses but unfortunately the Marriott is nowhere near what is should be.

We were upgraded to a 2-room suite at no additional charge the day before checking in which was nice. Our room was very large, a living room with a built-in bar kitchenette area on the wall with a small fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. I liked how the living room was its own separate but connected part of the room - a nice sectional couch near the sliding glass door and sunset views. Both the living room and bedroom had WiFi TV with access to streaming services which I'm hoping will be a Hilton-wide requirement for properties soon. The bedroom was also very spacious and the bathroom was large with room for activities. Overall - I really liked this property and it will be one I look up when staying in and around OC.

Knowing the bar and restaurant were opening at 4 PM, we decided to get some wine and relax by the fireplace in the beautiful lobby. Before you know it, the place got full - Ken in the bar was running food and drinks nonstop - he was awesome. We had a warm, peaceful night's sleep in the comfy beds and, who do we see when we went to the lobby restaurant for breakfast? Ken! Still there working his butt off. We planned on using the gym, but had a great time meeting and talking with other Fenwick neighbors instead. Even though it had just snowed, we had to go to the roof bar to scope it out for the summertime. The pool looks inviting too! Fenwick Shores made what could have been a tough situation (no electricity) into something very enjoyable, and we are deeply appreciative.

They would make you think that the home owners of the properties they manage are terrible people that have no interest in maintaining their own homes. In just over two weeks of staying in the same house this summer they didn't repair a broken toilet, bring the appropriate light bulbs for the bathroom, offer any compensation for a bedroom that flooded twice during our trip rendering it unusable for days, replace an empty gas tank for the grill, or repair dangerous bunk beds in the unusable swamp room. There maintenance staff is a full blown clown show that doesn't have an effectively communicating manager. How do I know this? I know this because every time some comes to the house they don't know why they have been dispatched to the house. The bottom line is try and find a house rented by the owner directly so if you have a problem you can contact someone who cares, not resort quest who has a ton of properties and don't care if you ever rent from them again.

If you move your reservation to a later date- high season- you have to pay the rates instead of them just working with you. Many times in the case of a declaration of emergencies, rentals will move you to a later date without charging you extra. This organisation only cares about the bottom dollar.

The hotel was the Patricia Grand. In the mean time Patricia Grand closed 2 days before I was to leave so I would have had to go anyway. I am 71 female single and was working as a housekeeper at Caribbean Resort cleaning toilets and on my on call quit because I felt it unsafe. What the hell. I want my money back and they took it, money that was not paid in earnest for taxes but time there. HELP
