This place is amazing! It's a real thrift store, a real bargain hunter's paradise. They always have great prices - no overpriced garbage like the big boys. Of course, that means you might have to hunt, sort, pick and clean up a tresure when you find it, but that keeps the prices low. You can literally go every week and find great stuff. I always start here when I'm hunting items. Even when they have primo items, the prices don't get crazy. Please go and check them out - see for yourself. On top of being a great thrift store, they help DeLand. A LOT. So grace them with your dollars and donate stuff you don't want here. Got some great furniture for a great price. We got a round table in decent condition and a Chester drawer. The table's leaf needs some tlc but otherwise it was a great deal. They have a large selection. They even deliver and put it where you'd like it in the house the next day! read more

I've shopped here for a long time. I keep coming back so that tells you something. The girls that worked there before had some rough days and were dealing with people that are from rehab and sometimes never showed up for work, granted that is not a good reason to be nasty. But they always helped me. If you want to say things are expensive, go to Goodwill, they are outrageous. They sell the same thing as the dollar tree next to them for more than a dollar. ??? What's with that. Our Father's Closet has given almost an entire house full of furniture for people in the church. They helped with the needs of the communities. I have found many great deals at this store. The prices are right on and they are more than willing to "haggle" the price. Of course you will find items with chips and dings but remember this is a thrift store! I have bought many pieces of furniture in excellent condition and the price was unbelievable. They have new owners and contrary to what they claim the prices have gone up. I understand prices have gone up everywhere so that's not my biggest complaint. My biggest complaint is how rude they are about closing time. They close at 4pm, but at 3:30 they bring in all their outside stuff and cram it in the clothes section where people are still shopping. I could understand if it took them a long time, but it doesn't they have it all in by 3:35 or so and now no one can look at the clothes for all the crap they have put there. All of their inventory are donations from our community. They keep the good stuff for friends and family. I will no longer tell people they should donate to this place. Angels thrift store is much nicer and run by people who actually help our community. It's obvious most people have got the memo that this place sucks. It's easy to see by their empty parking lot that used to be over flowing. They had a good run but I think this place is over. Another nice place ruined by greed and lazy people. read more

I have donated a lot of furniture and clothing items to My Father's Closet. They always show up on time and they are very friendly and professional. I just called them to see if they had a specific item and they were very friendly and went and checked for me; even apologized for putting me on hold! I have no complaints. Their prices could be a bit less, which is why they did not receive 5 Stars. That said, I believe that they do an overall good job. read more

Yes, Our Father's Closet used to be a great thrift store, but now the prices are too high and the quality less. I think it's ridiculous how some of these places think they have something great and they put a high price on it and stick it in a glass case. It's usually in rough condition, chipped, cracked, or faded. Plus, the lady who runs this place is rude and just throws out prices and won't haggle. read more

I go to Our Father's Closet at least a few times a week. I've been going for about 3 yrs now. I used to like it. Every time I go in now, they are horrible. If I have an item that they want, they will flat out take it from me and tell me I can't buy it bc they want it. Also, I bring items up to get a price on, and they tell me "oh no, that's not for sale. It needs to be researched." Well then why is it out for sale? They do this to me EVERYTIME I go in there now. I've noticed that they have stolen money from the registers. They take whatever items they want without paying, WHICH IS STEALING. They have a lady friend that comes in and they let her dig through everything and let her take what she wants. WHICH IS STEALING. I am just disgusted anymore. read more

I'm sad to give Our Father's Closet two stars, the only reason it isn't one star is that they actually help poor people on occasion. When I was first getting into thrifting Our Father's Closet (in it's old location on 17) was heaven. It was a huge warehouse with tons of great finds, furniture, records, plates, etc. I still have lots of the stuff that I bought from that time. Since they've moved, while the junk quotient has remained high their prices have also moved up into almost antique store range. Example, last time I was there they had a Rocky Horror CD box set, it was pretty cool but it was $15. I looked on ebay and you can get a "sealed" copy of the box set for $15 and not a very used copy sitting in a thrift store that was *donated* to them. Occasionally they'll have nice furniture but they price it so high that only antique dealers or rich folks can afford it. They still have decent prices on clothing and I've found some pretty cool old school country records (not that much of their vinyl is a great shape), so I still stop by when I'm in town it just doesn't excite me the way that it used to. I blame the rise of ebay/antique-ing for the death of thrift storing. read more

Great place to search for stuff, kind of pricey. The girl that works there Casie or Cece the blonde is very rude and was flirting opening with my husband! This girl offered to give him stuff for free if he gave her his phone number. This was right in front of me and my mother in law! Did not cause a scene because mom was there but you let me see this little tramp out somewhere! read more
