Great service, and had a really good and fast movers. Most importantly they are fairly priced. In this COVID thing, nobody is even accepting to move our stuff, l'm so thankful that they showed up and helped me. Highly recommended if you need to move anything from your house or getting a big item delivered from the store that cost you almost double the amount of the item you purchased. read more

After several phone conversations and several discussions about my belongings, being concerned about my antiques and heavy items, they insisted that they knew how to move a one-bedroom, even though I recommended that they come and look at my belongings. They insisted that this was not an unusual move, so therefore a visit from them was not necessary. Several weeks before the actual move date, I had mentioned to them I had many many boxes packed and was concerned about the size of the truck. Once again, they reassured me that it would be fine as they had much experience. Moving day had arrived. Many neighbours noticed that boxes were being dropped. Furniture blankets were not being used. And I felt the truck was too small. Yes, the truck was indeed too small. Furniture and boxes looked like a sardine can. Some furniture had to be left behind, as well as several boxes. My outdoor planters were cracked, and this was before I reached my destination. The day of arrival of my furniture, more surprises were bound to happen. Some antiques were broken and scratched, and they showed no respect for wooden antiques. It took longer than I was quoted, and they demanded $1,600 over my quote, saying that it took longer than it should have done. These are just a few comments of my experience which I hope prevents someone else from using this company, as no reimbursement or consideration to my feelings and sadness except a $50 deduction that they felt was more than acceptable. I did complain several weeks over the phone, but to no avail. This is the worse moving company I have ever experienced. Be aware of what is said, what is quoted and what is actually being done. read more

I want to start by saying that the two young men who moved my belongings were very nice and polite. That is the only good thing I have to say about this company. The owner said he would call me by the end of the week to discuss the repair my broken and damaged items. It's been two weeks. I have heard nothing. I asked if it would be possible for them to take apart and put back together my couch and my bed. The owner said no problem. What he should have said was that he will charge me hundreds of dollars for that service. It took one mover an hour by himself, then the two of them together for another two hours to do this. That's $375. I was charged $375 to take apart and put together two items. And the best part? When they were done my entire bed slanted to the side making it unsafe to sleep in and when I got back to the old place I found hardware for the bed that they had just left there. So I had to figure out where the missing hardware went and then put the bed together properly after paying $375 dollars. The couch comes apart in three sections. They choose to take the entire thing apart instead. When they put it back together the top part is hanging over the bottom part instead of lining up together. Again this cost $375. On top of that he couch has some very small holes in the fabric from where I pulled out some very large wooden slivers. Where they came from? I have no idea. I have a small antique table that is literally irreplaceable. When they took it outside they put other wood furniture on top of it. I made a point to take it off and cover it with a towel. I was assured that when it was put into the truck it would be covered in a moving blanket so I had nothing to worry about. I specifically told them that out of everything I own this is the only thing I would really care about being damaged. Guess what? They didn't put a blanket on it, in fact they didn't even strap it down and it got scratched. My daughter has a small kitchen from ikea. It was not put on the dolly properly, so it fell. The sink faucet broke off and the wooden edges are chipped. Almost every piece of furniture is scratched or damaged somehow. I had to hammer the top of a shelf back onto the rest of it. One of my cabinets no longer has the back attached to it. The back is still on but has separated from the self and the paint is cracked. I spoke to the owner and he assured me that he would contact me to discuss fixing things. It's been two weeks and I have heard nothing. The small damages wouldn't have mattered so much if only the owner had kept his word and fixed the table and the play kitchen. i hate leaving bad reviews and would not have done so it the owner had kept his word and made the situation right. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Ouch My Back Moving, moving an apartment from Victoria to Vancouver. Each time I called in I either got to speak with one of the very helpful employees or, if I couldn't reach anyone, I would receive a call back by the end of the day. Over the phone, they did a very good job of making sure I was informed of changes in their schedule. As for the move, they were very professional and efficient, helping me pack up some last-minute items and making sure that they were packed away safely and stored correctly. When we made the big move I found that they were fair and willing to chat about how to deal with an unexpected delay that occurred during the move. Was quoted for three movers but only two were able to make it due to illness, which 3 years ago might have been an issue but with COVID today, I'm glad that they were upfront and are protecting their employees. Some heads up about the change might have been useful. Only one piece of furniture was slightly damaged during the move and it had more to do with it being of cheap construction than anything that the moving team did to damage it. A big fan of this company and team and I am happy to support a local business. read more

Complete a move in Victoria and was very pleased with the service. The movers were polite and punctual and finished half an hour early, despite our apartment building being very busy with people moving in. They had moving blankets for the items that needed them and were very responsive to my comments on items that needed special handling. read more

When I called for an estimate I had requested one online and I ended up calling and I got two different quotes. When I asked for an estimate emailed to me it was ridiculously high I said I was moving from a 2 bedroom one level town house they said somehow that would take 8 hours and the fee would be over 1000. Little outrageous I think when we moved took little over 3 hours with 3 people. We decided on a different company. read more

So sorry that I didn;t read the negative reviews before recommending this outfit to my cousin for a small apartment move. Their quote came in $500 more than a competitor had charged to move the same furniture the same distance but as that move was a year earlier that seemed fine. On move day surprising they asked for a portion of the move costs ( about 1/3) after loading . This was paid. At the end of the move they charged the full quoted price ( so they charged the quoted price PLUS 1/3 ) and rung it through the movee's credit card giving notice only AFTER they had charged additional fees . When this was questioned not only did they suggest they were entitle entitled but they prepared and sent a third invoice. Lucikly the credit card company had been alerted before they successfully attempted to run a third invoice through. Companies like this who take advantage of the elderly should be avoided read more

Really great guys! I relunctantly had to move out of my home and Ouch My Back were polite, careful with my belongs and sensitive to my concerns. I hope I don't have to move home again any time soon, but if I do, at least I won't have to face the stress of finding movers that I can trust. I recommend them. read more
