I found out about this park because I came with my wife, our son, and our granddaughter for a playdate. The park is home to the Altamonte Fast Pitch Academy and Babe Ruth Softball. They have three full size softball fields that are used for the softball academy, for Babe Ruth Softball, and you can also use them to practice on as well. Located between the three fields is a concession stand and the restrooms. What I really lived about this park is the three playground areas they have, each playground has their own set of things for kids to play on and a different theme for each area. They also have a swing-set area which includes a swing that you can sit in with your child and be able to swing together. There are also to pavilion areas for you to choose from one is called Oak Pavilion and the other is the Beach Pavilion which has two beach volleyball courts for you to play volleyball on which is a nice touch. Lastly I love the scenery of the park it has lots of great looking trees around the park. So if you are ever in the Altamonte, FL area and you want a nice secluded park to take your family to then I would recommend Merrill Park.

The layout is really neat and it's a great venue for parties and weddings. They have a huge pool out back and you can access the lake back there as well. One of our favorite things to do in high school was to rent kayaks and explore the lake. The staff are some of the best in the industry and the other members and their families are very nice. All in all, the Winter Park Racquet Club is top notch and we will continue to be members and support the club for years and years to come!

Since my parents don't really hold anything back when it comes to special occasions, I should have known that the club would be exceptional. And, of course, it was. I used to spend some time around this area a few years ago since one of my closer friends used to live here when she still lived at home with her parents. (Her father is a successful doctor of some sort.) I never knew that the club existed, though. It's nestled away in an extraordinarily nice neighborhood full of beautiful homes (one of which I am assuming is my friend's parents'; I can't remember which one it is), the vast majority of which had my friends and relatives in awe as we drove past them en route to the reception. Upon arriving for the reception, everyone went out back to the pool area, which is very spacious and had more than enough room for everyone who attended. (I think that there were at least 150 people ... maybe even closer to 200.) Beyond the pool area is a lake (according to Justin I.'s review, Lake Maitland) with a dock as well as a small beach which, by nighttime, had a bonfire. (I sat out by the fire for 15-20 minutes later that night - it was very nice, though it probably would be even more so during cooler months ... it just was very warm out this past Sat. evening.) Prior to the dinner and reception, everyone hung out by the pool. We were treated to great drinks and appetizers by the very accommodating and friendly staff. The inside of the club is very classy and extravagant. The furniture and decorations were even nicer than I was expecting. There was some great food (grilled jumbo shrimp with herbs and butter, caramelized sirloin steak au poivre, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese pasta bowls, a spring green salad & some excellent sides, including bread and butter) served and I probably would've eaten much more of it had I not been at the club's inside bar for much of my visit. The bar area is somewhat small (15-20 people probably could comfortably hang out there, though we had more for much of the time) but definitely served its purpose and, other than the dance/reception floor, often was considered as the central meeting point for some people. The bartenders inside were equally as accommodating as the ones outside. I hope to visit here again at some point. My mother told me that people who have their wedding reception here are invited back a year later for a return dinner, so we'll see. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it. Overall, having the reception here this past weekend was an excellent choice by my sister and her husband and I'm glad that my parents were able to financially support the decision. I was expecting great things from the club, but I had no idea how nice and elegant it was, and how wonderful of a neighborhood it would be in, until I physically arrived. It definitely exceeded my expectations and I'm sure that most other people who attended feel the same way.

This is a Marucci store that offers the full line of their products (bats, batting gloves, apparel, etc.) combined with some awesome batting and bullpen cages. They are open everyday. To use their cages, you do not need to bring your own equipment! They allow you to demo their bats and batting helmets, but the site does say you can still use your own stuff if that's what you prefer. On their website, you have the ability to book a cage, package or purchase a membership). We took a quick peek at the observation deck that looks over the main area. This was absolutely beautiful! They are still working on the finishing touches, but from here, you have the perfect birds eye view of the cages. We plan on taking the kids here so to actually try out the cages.

They also refused to provide written cancellation confirmation, basically, "trust me, it's cancelled." The personal training was also disappointing: limited availability, extra charges, and in my experience the trainers did not provide the level of qualification or value I expected. You have to cancel the training separately, then cancel the gym membership, and the billing problems can continue afterward. If you decide to join, I strongly recommend using a prepaid card and getting EVERYTHING in writing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. JOIN AT YOUR OWN RISK
