I just recently found this Turkish themed restaurant and decided to try it out tonight. What a gem! I cannot believe I've missed it. This is posh compared to many others. It is located on a slope giving a terrific view of church and park. It is tastefully oriental decorated - stucco in the ceiling and walls with mosaic and wallpaper accordingly. The staff is so professional, attentive and serviceminded. The menu has a wider selection than most restaurants around. We went for the starter with 13 (!) of the chef's choices. Mostly consisting of dips like tsatsiki but vey tasty. The main course portions are HUGE so go easy on the tasteful bread if you want both starter and dessert! The only down side might be that dishes with a distinct flavors might be a little too much with such huge portions. Maybe offering meze (small plates) not only for the veggies could be an alternative. We couldn't resist having dessert even if we were full. The chocolate fondant was perfectly sized - meaning smaller - after this mastodont dinner. The pastry with cream and mascarpone is large. They are both really lovely. I can't wait to go back. This place definately has feeling! Great athmosphere and the design, bar and view is also nice. They have big candle chandeliers standing in the corners and crystal chandeliers hanging at several places. Service was great and we got everything on our plates explained for us. We ordered the meze plate and four wonders if the sea and splitted them between us two for a total of 480kr. I can recommend to do that. The meze plate is good but it was mostly cold bread and sauce dishes. We were satisfied because we shared it but it would have been disappointing by it self. Overall a nice experience. One of the better dinner experiences in a long while down on the west coast. Very service minded staff that will take you through the menu if your not up to date with Turkish specials (that's a plus, but no longer necessary due to the fact that they hit the nail on its head by suggesting anything lamb here). Everything is authentically Turkish here and the seafood takes me back to Ankara as much as the meatier dishes reminisces of Istanbul. You'll get surprised over how much food you'll get for the money and the quality is quite good. I'll let the ugly plates and cutlery slip only because it's not really any better in Turkey. First in many visits for me :) read more

One of the best meals I've had in a while, and that's not limited to my time in Sweden. This place is great. The setting is beautiful; this place would be great for a date night. And you'll get wonderful food, good portion sizes, without spending a fortune. The meal starts with fresh baked bread with seeds and oil brushed on the crust and tapenade. I order a starter and a main meal. For the starter I got the Deniz Mahsulleri: prawns, mussels, calamari in a white wine cream sauce with garlic and dill. The prawns are cooked to perfection, and the sauce, the sauce is SO good! I used a lot of the bread to soak up every last bit of that sauce. The bread is really good too. Even just on its own. But don't fill up on it cuz you'll want to save some room for all the amazing food! For the main dish I ordered the Bonfile Sarma: steak fillet stuffed with pistachios and plums cooked in a red wine reduction served with a sweet potato and celeriac mash. So good. The pistachio and plum stuffing goes so well with the steak. I think it's the texture of the nuts combined with the sweetness of the plums combined with the crust on the outside of the steak. It all works so well together. Subtle but beautiful flavor. I wanted to try for dessert and the coffee. But I was stuffed and it was a little late for coffee. All that food for under $40, which as anyone in Sweden knows is really reasonable. The food, the portions, the ambiance, this place is worth every penny and more. read more

We made our way over here after being told there was a 90 minute delay at Caleo. I was immediately impressed with the bar. My friend had been in search of a place that knew how to make an appletini and after the disaster she experienced at Hard Rock, was hesistant to ask for it. She gave in and ordered one and her expectations were surpassed. I ordered a melon dream specifically because it contained Midori and wow, I could get wasted on this drink and never regret a second of it. After 15 mins at the bar, we were showed to our table. My feelings about this place immediately went from pleasantly surprised to not impressed when our waitress showed up with the biggest attitude on her face. This attitude continued the entire time we were there. I ordered the Bonfile Dolma and although it was quite good, it was not anything superior to what I have had before. The potatoes were dry and something I passed on wasting calories on. As happy as I was to come here, I was even happier to leave and get away from the negative energy and the boring food this place provided. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Nice location, friendly staff and very nice food. I had my doubts about a steak stuffed with anything, but the waitress suggested it. She was right, it was delicious. Would definitely come again. The Turkish coffee was a perfect finish. read more
