This is the place that my friend, an expat, goes to as his regular "go to". It's a bit more upscale looking than the other places in the area but that's not saying as much as it would if we were in the states, it looks may be lie the quality and taste of things. They make all their own baked stuff, seriously and while I'm not a flaky dough kind of guy it's good. They really shine though on their cappuccinos and for me their hot chocolate. As I'm writing in English, for Americans at least, keep in mind that Italian hot chocolate is nothing like our chocolate except for the fact that 1) it is dark and 2) it is somehow made from chocolate. All bets are off after that as I just have to say it is one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted that it's made of chocolate! Italian hot chocolate is more like a quasi chocolate pudding but with the flavor of a hot coco. As I happen to really like chocolate, especially the darker varieties, this is to put it mildly, heaven. The surface congeals and you need to stir it to break through to the more liquidy part underneath - well, well worth it. I am currently going through Torino's coffee shops, to taste their hot chocolate while I can.

We were staying in the "San Salvario Borgo" well known for its cafes, bars and restaurants. So off we went looking for a place to grab some lunch and ended up here as it was open. On Sundays they serve a brunch only and some desserts and cup cakes. As we don't speak Italian I did the "manjare" and she said brunch and I said yes :-) About 15 mins later our plates arrived and it was packed with goodies like scrambled eggs with truffle, bacon, a beautiful salad with some fresh grapefruit and passion fruit, salmon cake and delicious homemade bread. After we polished this fabulous plate off, we were told we could have cup cake or cheesecake of pancake for dolce :-))) I was way to full to consider anything else. She ended up giving us a brioche to take home and charged us less :-)) Everything here was made in the shop and run by two ladies that were very friendly and understanding. The total bill was €16 per person including water and coffee. The coffee was great and well made. A great find and I would happily come here any day. They have a few outdoor seats as well.
