That's the point I'm trying to make: everyone loves ice cream! The shop is tiny and there are only a few high-top chairs for sitting. The employees didn't speak English but if you know basic Italian you'll be fine. Everyone, even the patrons, were extremely friendly and welcoming. We got a small cup to share. This place reminds me a lot of Grom, only much smaller. All of the gelato is homemade and it is delicious. You can't really go wrong with gelato in Italy, and Alberto Marchetti is a great stop if you're craving the cold sweet stuff!

It is just a hop, skip and jump away from Porta Palazzo, which we visit once a week. Just walk North of the market one block and make a left. The gelateria serves both gelato and sorbet. The flavors were very traditional, unlike my other favorite, Grom. I tried the giandiutto (chocolate and hazelnut cream) and the marron glace (chestnut) and both were delicious. I've tried the chestnut flavors at Venchi, Grom, and Popolare, and I think this place has it down the best. The best thing about this place is that it is only 1.50 for a small, a whole euro cheaper than Grom and Venchi!
