All servers are polite, professional, and speak great English. The Italian menu is written on the blackboard on the wall. They'll provide you a QR code for English menu. While I was going to order pasta and main dish (fish) which a kind server suggested against due to the pasta portion. She was 100% correct, so I ordered tuna tartare and squid ink pasta. Both dishes were fantastic: tuna tartare was fresh - sushi/sashimi quality, and pasta dish was excellent despite the huge portion, lol! They suggested different wines for each dish to try, and I appreciated that they pay attention to details. While they would be a bit pricier compared to other restaurants in the area, if you're looking for solid food with polite service in the quiet environment, this is your place!

We enjoyed the amberjack carpaccio, which was super fresh and served with a fennel and orange salad. We then shared a pasta dish with shrimp and Trapani pesto - very delish. We finished with grilled amberjack with grilled eggplant and seared tuna with roasted potatoes. Both fish dishes were tasty and the quality of the fish was very good. The tuna was cooked a tad over and the skin on the amberJack could have been crisper ( the flesh was moist and well-seasoned) but overall we enjoyed the food very much. Our first waiter recommended a nice white wine from Etna - we ordered two bottles for the 3 of us. The lovely woman who then brought our food was delightful and charming. The evening we dined there, Canadian Amazon Prime was shooting a food network show on site and we ended up being a part of it (we consented to be interviewed and to do multiple takes and signed releases). It clearly was very exciting for the restaurant and we were happy to help, although the owner never acknowledged us at all. One quibble was that it took an hour after we asked for the check ( three times) for us to pay and one of us needed to get some work done on LA time. All in all, this place is worth a visit. It felt like good value and we had a very enjoyable time.

Warm and comfortable with linen tablecloth and linen napkins and heavy silverware, they have a long wine list and we opted to just have the house red which was great. Beautiful bread basket, we got the baked mozzarella cheese to start. A good portion baked in oil with fresh garlic. It was awesome and there will be no vampires tonight. For mains, my friend chose a noodle dish with eggplant. Big portion, very nicely presented and I had a small bit that was excellent. I chose the buccatini with sardines and it was amazing. Fresh sardines, pesto, perfect noodles. Yummy. Our first "full" dinner in Palermo (last night was the food tour) and it's really looking like we'll have a great food fest here. I especially liked their house antipasti (eggplant dishes). It was fantastic! How can eggplant be so good? Biondo is located right off the main shopping drag. They have a pizza shop around the corner too. Ordering in English was small struggle - so picking up a tiny bit of Italian would help for those that do not speak any.

They open at 7pm which is when I arrived to find myself alone in the restaurant. But by the time I left at 9, the place was full. We were directed to pick out any table by the two guys at the door. Clearly this is a family run operation as was proven to me when the two wives and their kids showed up around 8:30. The wives began to run the host stand and check people out while the men took orders and ran the food. As I often do, I left it up to the owners to suggest items from the menu. For the appetizers we went with a variety plate of panelle and some eggplant type relish. This was very good. The other appetizer of "sardine balls" must be an acquired taste as I didn't care for it but my dining companion enjoyed them. For our main course I had the spaghetti and clams which was delicious and my friend went with the lobster filled ravioli. Know if you order this last dish that you must like curry as it uses a lot of it for seasoning. All of that plus a few glasses of house wine and a couple of beers came to about 75 EU which seemed reasonable for the amount of food. They take reservations so if you want to go later than I did, you may want to call ahead cuz this place gets busy as the night goes on!

Knowing it was there we persevered, and I'm really glad we did! We arrived just as they were supposed to open (according to the sign) and we were seated at a table where nothing happened for the next half hour other than a whole lot of other parties arriving and getting seated. Then, the staff came to life as if someone had thrown a switch, and there was a line of dining hopefuls stretched out into the street... The service was very efficient, and all the staffers were friendly and helpful. The food and wine was all excellent and quite reasonably priced, with all the fish and meat entrées priced at around eight euros. Our server recommended what turned out to be an outstanding bottle of Nero d'Avolo which cost nine euros; it was the perfect compliment to the outstanding cuisine! It turned out to be completely worthwhile having arrived early; despite the half hour wait after we were seated we enjoyed a fabulous dining experience.
