It is difficult to know where to go, if you want to find a good restaurant in a foreign city.. Especially in a city as big as Berlin, cause the amount of restaurants is mindblowing..Over 6000 according to tripadvisor.. With that many restaurants, there is of course, a lot of bad and mediocre places to go to have a meal.
Thats why yelp and tripadvisor is nice to have in hand.. Only, in Berlin, even that wasnt really a big help.. A lot of the 4 and 5 star rated places i tried, was far from a 4 or 5 star rated restaurant..At least in my book.
Anyway, at fiorello the food was in general ok.. We got a basket of bread and some green and Black olives to start with.. The bread was fresh, but not very interesting, the green olives was very good, the Black was the opposite.
We shared a plate of antipasti.. Parma ham, sausage, grilled vegetables, good oliveoil among other things, and that was pretty good...
For main course i had some gnocchi with a lamb stew and my girlfriend had ravioli with sage and walnuts.. My dish was fine, nothing speciel, but the ravioli had a strange sauce which tasted like cooked cream, and not much else.. Which i guess it was.. Pretty far from authentic italian food..
For dessert i had tiramisu, which again, was fine, not the best and not the worst ive had.. The other dessert was, or at least shoud have been a panna cotta.. The panna cotta was rocksolid, it was a brick and possibly a dangerous weapon, and on top was a raspberry sauce.. No doubt frozen raspberries, cause this was in april.
In general though, my food was fine, but my girlfriend wasnt as lucky.. read more
