If you love balsamic vinegar this place can't be missed! This small local spot is run by the Pedroni family and on the premises of their traditional balsamic vinegar acataia. We toured the facility first and then enjoyed a four course balsamic pairing lunch that was by far one of the best meals I've ever had!
We began with two courses of homemade pasta. These were followed by a course with various bites on it including a frittata, a Lambrusco (made by the Pedroni family) brined beef, pork short ribs, and spring onions pickled in balsamic vinegar. The final dessert course consisted of three different cheesecake bites topped with their traditional balsamic vinegar aged 25 years. As an added bonus, with your dessert course you'll be presented with a shot glass and five different bottles of dessert liquors to finish off your meal. Each dish was unique and delicious and the staff serving the courses very friendly and eager to ensure you have a wonderful experience.
It's a small, cozy space run by the family. The family patriarch, Italo, (whom the 12 year aged traditional Pedroni balsamic is named after) was continuously making the rounds to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal and having a great time. You'll even find Guiseppie, the current head of the facility and Italo's son AND the namesake of the 25 year aged traditional Pedroni balsamic) in the kitchen preparing and serving dishes to patrons.
Be advised that you will be required to lock your cell phone up in a secure case before beginning your dining experience because to Italo, the family patriarch, food is a sacred experience that shouldn't be taken away from by having your phone out. If this is going to be a problem for you then this isn't the restaurant for you, but it will be a shame because you'll be missing out on some truly amazing food. read more
