First the positives: kind and lovely staff very welcoming, friendly and funny. The food however was average at best. The pumpkin tortellini which the region is known for were overly flavored with amaretto, making them taste like sugary almond bombs. The polenta was thick and flavorless and the other dishes were average at best. Given that the prices are fine but not the deal they once were I think this restaurant is quite average. For reference, we spend two weeks every year in various places in Italy and eat out often. read more

Amazing pasta meal. One of our best on our trip so far. Great choices and flavors. And lovely warm service with a treat at the end!!

Such a comfortable atmosphere. Families and children everywhere. This is where the people eat. Not too much vegetarian food but what was available was fantastic. Drink some Lambrusco and try the zupa inglese for dessert They offer an after dinner drink they call "grappa" but it is not. It is more like Nocino. Still very good. read more

Wow. Seriously, wow. Italians do food better than most everyone and this place does Italian better than most Italians. We stopped for lunch on our way south and we were graciously accommodated on short notice. Called the night before and they set us up with a table near the end of service. Charming, professional, spotlessly clean, small and very nicely furnished in an authentic urban Italian style. Not rushed, not ignored, not overlooked. Treated us like neighborhood regulars, and there were numerous in attendance. Now about that food... we're back to wow, seriously wow. For starters my wife and I chose tagliatelle with duck ragu (tagliatelle al sugo d'anatra) and tiny tortellini in brodo (sorry I forgot the actual name of this dish). The tortellini were dynamite flavor bombs and the broth was clean and perfect. The duck dish was flawless--the homemade egg tagliatelle were ethereal, cooked to perfection--served in a lovely copper pan. Also enjoyed a rabbit dish (Coscia do consigliere alle Erbe ). House digestive was a nice touch. We'll be back. read more

We came upon this restaurant by accident. While we plan carefully, the one we had chosen was closed. Very tired from walking, we took this one since it was just across the street, and expected little. It turned out to be a happy accident. We had grilled vegetables with very flavorful herbs; a polenta with tangy, interesting soft sausage. Finally, a risotto cooked with Lambrusco wine and bacon, full of interesting, rich tastes. Since we told her we were too full for desert, the waitress brought us almond cookies with a liquor. And then the bill. We were shocked: 35 euros for one of our best meals to date on this trip, into it for two weeks. The restaurant is small, probably family run, and outside the touristy section. We were leaving the next day or would have been back to try more dishes. Staff had little English, but that was not a major obstacle. The space is air conditioned. read more
