Lucky for us, they had brand new English language menus. As soon as you sit down, they bring out a pitcher of white wine and 2 bottles of mineral water - it's very rare for alcohol to be served without food here. To start we had panelle with fried cauliflower and cardoons as well as a cheese platter. For our mains, spaghetti with clams, roast lamb with potatoes, and a roasted pork shank. I didn't taste the spaghetti, but the meat dishes were amazing! For dessert, they bring you a miniature cannoli + Regina cookies and fichi d'India (prickly pears) along with 3 digestivi to try: fennel, limoncello and laurel (bay leaf). The cookies were terrific but the cannolo were not as crisp as they should have been (probably pre-stuffed). The service was great too. Another neighborhood winner! FYI - you pay for all the items they bring you so if you don't want them, you must speak up right away.

We had just gotten back from a long day of travel and my wife was hungry and Altri Tempi was a 10 minute walk from our hotel. My wife usually a very picky eater devoured her whole plate and I finished my pasta with anchovies which was delicious. Their prices are very reasonable and water, wine were part of the meal along with watermelon brought to you at end of the meal with cannolis, biscotti and a choice of different homemade after dinner liqueurs for you to drink and my bill was still under $40 euros. Along with the owner and staff that brought everything to us quickly and freshly prepared from the kitchen. All I can say os Thank you to Marco for a great suggestion because I intend to return to Altri Tempi whenever I am in Palermo again.

Came here with higher hopes. First off I came for the linguine con vongole! Prices from the menu…read moreboth online and reviews seemed cheaper - the linguine con vongole was not on the physical menu but they said they could make spaghetti con vongole for me. This should have been the same price - but they charged me 4-5 Euro more. This cost more than all the other seafood pastas that were on the menu!! The taste was also hardly there; I could make this way better at home. I also found a small hair AFTER I had finished the majority of my dish. The wine I got was the last bit of the bottle, so I got skimped on the pour, which I was upset about. I kept looking around at others ordering wine and they all got 3/4 of an inch more in the wine glass than I did. I was expecting him to come back with a new bottle to finish the acceptable pour - but nope. With the cooperto to charge and charge for tap water (which I know is everywhere in Italy) this bill cost me a lot more than I was expecting for the service and quality of the food. I had more food at lunch with a nicer ambiance which cost me less than this spot! Don't think I would recommend this spot to friends visiting unfortunately.
