Transitioning a large in-person event to a virtual event is challenging especially when that event…read morebegins with cocktails. Contacting Shots by Miko was the best decision we made for our event. She was flexible when we needed to make changes (even last minute changes). She was professional, witty, entertaining and so full of energy! Our 200 or so guests enjoyed the history of spirits she provided as well as the tasty drinks they were able to make at home along with her. In fact, several asked if we could have her back next year whether the event was virtual or in person! If you are in need of a mixologist and/or bartending services, I highly recommend Shots by Miko. You will not be disappointed by this small, local Kansas City business.

Great drinks, great service, and NO HEADACHE!!!…read more So prior to my wife and I getting married, we were thinking we would just handle the drink portion of our reception ourselves... that is until we got in contact w/ Shotsby Miko. Once we met with her, she outlined for us all the overhead and other parts of just serving drinks that we hadn't even previously imagined. Honestly, we were so focused on the wedding ceremony that the reception and all entailed was just an afterthought for us. It's not that she scared us, but she definitely opened our eyes of how unprepared we were. We were about a month out and were scrambling. Thankfully Miko was able to work with us and our budget, providing our reception a great selection of whiskeys for my family and friends as well as gins (YUCK) for here side (lol!). Not only that, but Miko made us a custom drink that matched exactly with our decor! I don't know HOW she did that! Who would think about a blue whiskey drink that wasn't full of sugar? I'll tell you who! SHOTS BY MIKO! Thanks again for making our wedding one we'll never forget!

Awful experience. Before my wedding, they were great to work with! However, I found out of things…read morethat happened during my wedding and when I talked to the owner, Brent, it just went downhill. The issues I had were that the bartenders were consuming my alcohol without permission, they handed a clearly inebriated guest a full bottle of champagne over the bar which she then dropped and gashed her leg open, and they were rude to my mother. I had other guests say they were rude as well, but since my mother paid for this service it happening to her is all I needed to know. To them drinking our alcohol they claimed that my dad okayed it, which he didn't, and gave no apology. To handing the drunk guest a bottle of champagne, they told an elaborate story about how she snuck behind the bar, stole it, hid it up her dress and that is how she dropped it and cut herself - which, if you saw the room behind the bar and the fact that there were two bartenders you would know this wouldn't even be possible. I didn't even bring up the bartenders being rude to my mom because at that point it was a "he said she said" game and they clearly were not going to admit they were in the wrong. They also tried to make comments saying that my "planner had it in for them" like what?? Beyond bizarre. Bottom line, it says a lot about a business who will make up stories to put the customer in the wrong when they're the actual ones at fault. Would not recommend.

I will be posting reviews of the companies we used for our wedding on October 29th, 2016. It was required, per the contract, to pay an extra 30 minutes before and after so there was time for set-up/clean-up. Our reception was from 6pm-midnight. We paid the hourly rate for 7 hours (5:30-12:30) and put in the contract for last call to be at 1130. All of this was then confirmed in an email about a month prior to the event.         As my husband and I sat at our head table with our food, we were approached by one of the bartenders. We had lemonade, tea, and water next to the bar. He was very upset that we had those drinks and wanted to know who was responsible for filling them.  I apologized and explained that the refills were behind the bar and that I was told that the bartenders could refill water. This was cold brew tea and the powder lemonade that you dump in water. He gets extremely confrontational at that point. I said, "okay, well then let it run out." Frankly, I had better things to worry about and there was more than enough options for guests. After the confrontation,  I asked my grandmother to go help the bartenders with whatever they needed.         During the reception, we heard multiple complaints about the bad attitudes from the bartenders. At about 1045, my bartender approached me and said, "Hey, the bartenders would like to know if they can call last call." I told him absolutely not. My DJ was sent to ask me this TWICE. At one point, my husband made a comment to the bartender about the party dying down and that we may not make it to last call. Evidently, the bartenders took that conversation that they were not involved in and went ahead and left a little after 11.          Obviously, we were very upset. Hyvee had brought a Keurig for our guests that also disappeared around that time. I wouldn't want to ever blame someone unfairly but their lack of character makes it easy to assume. I sent my complaint a week ago and have not received response. We ended up returning about 14 cases of beer and almost as much wine so that's not a valid excuse.          For a company that requires that you prepay an hourly rate with a contract, I think it's ridiculous that they just up and left over a conversation they were not even involved in. They were extremely unprofessional- especially to be confrontational with the bride about something as petty as tea and lemonade.
