Getting to Oslo Airport couldn't have been easier! I hopped on the Vy train from Central Station and in no time I was at the terminal. Luggage check-in with the SAS staff was quick, efficient, and genuinely pleasant thanks to their friendly service. Security was a breeze with Fast Track, making the whole process stress-free. Before I knew it, I was relaxing in the SAS Gold Lounge with a drink in hand. Comfortable seating, good food and drink options, and a calm atmosphere made the wait for my flight enjoyable. The airport itself is clean, well laid out, and easy to navigate. Shops are plentiful, and the duty-free mall offers a nice selection if you want to pick up something before your flight. Overall, Oslo Gardermoen is one of the smoother airport experiences I've had efficient, modern, and traveler-friendly. read more

What a great airport! It's a major city, but the airport haas a much smaller feel to it- it doesn't feel overwhelming at all. Plus, it is very well laid out, modern and clean. There are some great restaurants, bars and shops, I enjoyed my time here immensely. Check in was easy, security was quick and there wasn't the Duty Free gauntlet to get through! Such a nice change from most European airports. I wish more European airports were like this one! read more

Flew into OSL the other week and it was a quick and easy experience. OSL is a clean and efficient airport. Signage was great directing me to the train station. There are both express trains as well as local commuter trains to get into the city. As foreign credit cards may not be accepted on the Vy app, there are payment islands in the terminal before going to the tracks. I loved how passengers are forced to walk through a duty free store before exiting the airport. I saw a good collection of eateries in the arrival lobby too. read more

OSLA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (OSL) is very easy to navigate. Awesome and beautiful architecture. Restaurants in the lobby/entrance. Many more in the departure area. Large and numerous duty free shopping. FLYTOGET, bullet train straight to Oslo, is right in the airport. read more

Fairly well laid out airport. Upon arrival yesterday from Finland we had a funky exit, some took the rear exit with steps down to a bus, the other passengers exited as normal through the front forward gate only to exit down stairs to waiting buses. I assume this was for border control but it made no sense. Today's access as we stated overnight to catch an AM Flight meant border control for passports once the F gate was announced about 2 hours before departure. In general airport is clean, plenty of restrooms. Very limited on chairs at Checkin which is much diff from larger US airports as well as few seats by the actual gates. There were two very convenient hotels within comfortable walking distance under cover as well as a train station. read more

Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about Oslo airport. The layout is super simple compared to a lot of other airports, and it's not too big that if you have a short layover you wouldn't make it in time. Prices everywhere are actually a lot cheaper than some airport. Staff were all pretty friendly and the security was a breeze. read more

Wow, I gotta say, I've been to over 80 countries and hundreds of airports, and this is one of the nicest and QUIETEST airports I've ever been in. When you come in as an international traveler, it is pretty hard to skip going through a massive duty free shop. On the way out, I was struck at how eerily quiet the entire airport was. I couldn't figure out what it was - but I realized there are no overhead announcements and no music whatsoever. It was surreal, and serene - so obviously, keep track of your flight / gate status by looking at the massive screens. If you were like me and pretty much stuck in a hotel for your entire stay, I think my only disappointment was there really wasn't many shops that I could buy anything as a souvenir to bring. I don't need to buy a bottle of alcohol, cigarettes or candy - I wanted something small that really screamed NORWAY that I could tuck into my carry on. read more

Good vibes all around at Oslo airport. Aside from the exterior of the airport which has trash and cigarettes, the interior is delightful. The airport is laid out nicely: it's quite expansive with high curved ceiling, wooden flooring, glass accents, and an array of shops. Oslo airport is not too large, and there is plenty of space which makes navigation easier. While there isn't a tremendous amount of dining opportunities, what they do have is great. The duty free shop could easily be its own terminal. Highly recommend. read more

One of the best airports in terms of comfort, efficiency, and design (Scandinavian wooden theme throughout). Transferred here from a domestic Norwegian flight to an international flight to Hungary, and really enjoyed our time here. No need for any airline lounge, because the airport itself was so pleasant and not overly crowded. We actually left the secured area of the terminal to go into the arrival lobby in order to enjoy the Wagamama there (see my photos). We had no issue going through security again (very pleasant) to catch our flight. That along speaks highly of an airport. Good luck trying this at LAX. As you can see in my photos, there's this very elegant and welcoming information desk with organ pipes hanging from the ceiling. There are power outlets everywhere (no need to fight). Every seat is a comfortable seat. The public space is surrounded by the warmth of wood. There's a Two Tigers, a place to pick up sushi and noodles. How civilized! Fresh sashimi for the flight. Simply awesome And the Wagamama is topnotch, with Norwegian inflections. They've got plenty of booths. You order at the counter, and they bring the food over. Loved everything. Their Tokyo fries are quite good. read more

Good enough international airport, however it's a real bummer that if you layover here for an international arrival and domestic transfer if you have checked bags you have to exit the secure area, collect your bags, re-check your bags, and then go back through security. Minor annoyance, but it did mean my husband couldn't have a proper lunch since we didn't have more time to sit and eat. read more

Clean, friendly, easy to navigate- great airport. We got here early, because we had a lounge pass, and our hotel had an early check out. We enjoyed the Starbucks- bought some Oslo souvenir mugs, of course. Prices were reasonable. I also shopped at the duty free for snacks, chocolate and souvenirs for friends. It was easy getting to our gate. Security was tight- there had been an incident in Oslo the morning that we left- so I assume we experienced higher than average security levels at the airport, but it was efficient. read more

Big airport. I flew SAS for transfer. Landed on one end with connecting flight on same airline on other end. Also, you may need to scan your ticket in between terminals. No taxis observed, so run for it if your transfer time is short. Plenty of shops & restaurants. Nice airport but not efficiently run. read more

Oslo Lufthaven was an easy experience both getting out of upon arrival and getting through for departure. The airport is very clean and easy to navigate through. During my visit, customs only took a few minutes, which from my understanding doesn't normally happen. Plenty of bathrooms and they have water stations to fill up your water bottles which is a lifesaver. Gates are easily market and while they don't have a large amount of options in terms of places to eat and shop, the ones that are available are pretty decent. Airport prices, yes, but it's better than nothing. Plenty of places to charge your phone. Comfortable seating arrangements too. Definitely a fan. read more

A beautiful elegant airport, with some lines. Oslo is a rustic and modern well organized city. And so is the airport. I was in town for only day, and I got to experience the Lufthavn airport twice in a short period. As I got off the plane yesterday, I was immediately struck by the effort put in to architectural appeal. There was sweeping elegant lines throughout the airport. I was reminded that IKEA was born from here, as the light wood tones mixed with steel was in all parts of the airport. There were many details where it felt like the builders could saved money and gone simpler, but for aesthetics, more energy and thought was put into it. Returning to the airport today I was aware of all the fine details again. The baggage screening area was a little slow, but I was in wonder and the advanced system they had to get the bags screened and through. It is a fantastic airport, one that I think anyone would be happy to check through. read more

Oslo Airport (OSL) is actually known as Gardermoen. This is a wonderful airport and makes a great first impression of Norway. Open and clean design, nice lines, good and mostly reasonable food and beverage options, polite, professional and friendly gate and security agents...all these things made Gardermoen my favorite airport anywhere...so far. They sat the bar very high. It feels like a fairly large airport while at the same time feeling kind of warm and cozy. read more

Uh, you can nap anywhere in the airport and this may seem like an odd start to a review but it's just that quiet, clean, and orderly. Food options exceed all NYC Metro terminals by far and actually make U.S. dining standards look like fast food garbage delivery spots in all airports Americans travel in and out of in volume! The people are so calm, cool, and polite and not just staff and admin but patrons too. Landing on the ground while on the plane was like being hit with a dose of soothing fragrance, stretch out, soak in the wilderness and enjoy the natural work as it has been for millennia. My goodness. Guess I was naive to assume Northern Europeans have great designs for things because of what I read and saw in America, and also their dragons and Vikings perhaps played a role too. But the myths were busted once we landed at Oslo airport. I was first impressed by the beautiful glass gangway they had when we exited the aircraft and of course the beauty of nature surrounding the airport. It all went chaotic after we took the escalator to get to the immigration area. It's so small that passengers exiting that aircraft were all stuck and there's no room to form lines, so they had to turn off the escalator that was bringing people there otherwise it would turn to a can of sardines! The immigration area was separated into EU passport holders and non-EU passport holders. Most of us held American passports so the area for the other was empty. It took them 15 mins to decide opening that area to non-EU passport holders... And then there were these confusing signs and tiny passages that you need to walk through with your luggage... If you're transferring flights, make sure you allow 4-5 hours time between the two departures, because they will make you go through security for your carry on luggage again and there's only one machine for the whole crowd of transfers! We waited for about 20 minutes there again. Overall, it's a pretty inefficient airport. The staff were not really helpful either. At least they have plenty of bathrooms and places to eat and shop for a small international airport like this. read more

Great architecture, I can tell it was inspired by the concept of "Viking ship". The airport is clean, new, modern with great facilities and services such as lounge or massage chairs and lounge clubs for passengers who have overnight layovers. Passing through custom and security was quick and efficient. Plenty of cafes and foods to choose from. Could have more restaurants. But existing establishments were reasonable. My only experience at this airport was for catching our connecting flight. First impression is that this airport looks impressive. Modern and clean. Our layover was 90 minutes. It was enough time for us to walk, shop at the duty free, go through passport control, and make it through security. Wish we had more time to explore the airport. It is huge! Only complaint I have is where our Gate (don't remember which one) for the connecting flight was. Maybe they are in the middle of renovating, but it was so crowded & congested at the Gate. People did not know which line was for which Gate. One gate was for going to London, one was for going to New York, and one was for going to Los Angeles. It was confusing and chaotic. Poorly designed that's for sure. Other than that, no issues. read more

The transfer from domestic to international is slow, cumbersome and confusing. Flights are not well posted until you get to where you are going (and how to know?) There are tons of stores and places to eat. Everyone speaks English. read more

Oslo Lufthavn is a nice airport for a layover. We had a couple hours to hang out between Orlando, US and Paris France. We were able to look around, have some lunch and relax between our flights. We flew into a larger terminal for international flights and then changed to a smaller terminal to Paris once we went through Customs to enter the EU. Going through customs took a little while, the lines went fairly quickly though and the agents were nice. We didn't have any real issues going through customs. When going between the terminal we flew into and the one we flew out of though, we did have to go through security again and we had to throw out our water. Boo Oh well. Once we got to the terminal, we had a good sushi lunch and hug out until the next flight. Oslo is a good airport and was easy to understand for someone who had never been there before. read more

Very impressive jet bridges. Gorgeous interior--sleek lines, wood finish. Bathrooms are small in my American eyes, and clean, which is more important. Did not have time to visit stores as others have mentioned. I was just thrilled to see my beloved Desigual. . . I encountered a very long line trying to catch a connecting flight to Florida, which made me (and several others nervous) as it took some time to clear customs. My current experience is only to connect flights. Beautiful airport that is super clean, well laid out, and easy to get around. I was worried that 45 minutes would not be enough time to disembark the plane and make it to a train, but it ended up being more than enough time. The train station is in the same building, and it's a very short walk down to the station from the plane terminals. Food here is ok, and you can get certain classic Norweigan food, although it is not near as good as the real stuff. I would highly suggest taking advantage of the duty free shop as alcohol elsewhere in the country will run you dry extremely fast. We stocked up and really appreciated having that option. Our flight into Oslo had no issues, but upon leaving they really did not like all our souvenirs, such as reindeer hide, clothing, and camera equipment. They let us take it all, but they thoroughly searched us which might have made us late if we were rushed. Worth keeping in mind when planning flights. read more

The airport is surprisingly quiet for how big and busy it is. I love the self sufficient service for checking in, luggage, and security. Seamless and simple. Torn in this review but as an overall airport I will give it three stars. The airport itself is beautiful, they provide good wifi, bathrooms are cleaner than other airports, and the organization of checking in and going through security was easy and efficient. I think what prevented it from being better was their disappointing selection of stores available for shopping and quality and price of food. Basically, there was nothing really worth getting in this place. Food is mediocre and overpriced. It was hard to find something to eat that didn't look bleh. I even heard upon passing a few times that people were advised that this airport's food selection is terrible. If coming to this airport, definitely try and bring food of your own choosing in because once you are in, there is nothing really worth getting. read more

'Ello Chaps! This is Olso's primary major airport, with majority service from Norwegian Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, as well as others including Ryan Air, British Airways, and Baltic Air. This is a quaint airport with many restaurants and stores (comparatively for its size). Signs make it easy to navigate and find where you are going. There is also easy access from the arrivals areas to get to the express train platform. Overall I gives Oslo Airport 5 Stars for its easy for navigation, modern ambiance and feel and comfort. read more

It's an airport, and they are increasing the size. -The level of english spoken here is great. -The security lines are not usually very bad and that experience is as pleasant as airport security can be. -The duty free shop is often quite busy but worth a stop if your spending some time in Oslo. Is everything in Norway beautiful, well-designed, sleek, and unapologetically clean? If your first or last impressions are made at Oslo Lufthavn, you'd have plenty of evidence. No long lines for security here - they have systems and queues and monitors to redirect people when lines get too long. Security is orderly and fast. The departure and arrival halls are gorgeous. It is easy to find one's gate and there are screens showing flights everywhere. The time to get through security control is not usually so bad although waiting for tourists whom obviously don't fly that much can be trying. I recommend that they open a security line just for business travellers. The tax free shop is one of the cheapest in Europe I have seen and I travel quite a bit. Gardermoen is the biggest airport in Norway and is naturally located not far from the capital, Oslo. Like Norway is the younger brother of the Scandinavian countries, Gardermoen/OSL is the junior compared to CPH in Copenhagen, but over the years there are more and more direct flights also between OSL and other continents and the airport is expanding. The easiest way to get from Oslo and other nearby locations to OSL, is by the airport train, which takes around 20 minutes and costs 170 NOK from downtown Oslo. You can also travel cheaper by regular train or you can get there by buses from all parts of eastern Norway. The airport also has a large parking house and enormous parking lots, services by shuttle buses, if you prefer your own car. In the country of the northern light, where people are born wearing skis, one might expect winter and cold to be handled with ease. It is therefore somewhat a paradox that the airport is facing delays and cancellations due to frost, ice and snow all the time. Other times of the year, fog is delaying the traffic. Needless to say, you can end up spending hours on OSL, building up anger that continues to affect your behavior onboard the plane as well as at the carousel after landing. On the other hand, which airport is not in the danger of having this effect on you? OSL has a fast track and lounges for both domestic and international flights. There are several options for purchase of food both before and after security, and you would also find a handful shops in addition to the tax free store. Being an expanding airport, the distances from security to the gates are increasing, so be aware of gates 1-15 (domestic), those above 50 (international) and not least gate 19, honored with its own hate page on Facebook and famous for having people miss their flights. Despite the somewhat bitter tone of my review, If I had the option, I would actually rate OSL 3,5. read more

This airport has a beautifully designed interior, though certain sections were closed off for construction. The airport personnel were very helpful and friendly, and I had no issues getting my boarding pass, checking my baggage, or finding my way around. You can take the NSB train or Flytoget express train to the Oslo city center. I recommend taking the NSB train to get there, which was about half the price of an express ticket and only took about half an hour. read more

Mind you I had just come from the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The Oslo Airport was just lacking. The first thing I needed to do was get on the WiFi. Unfortunately after spending 20 minutes, and trying every way possible, I was unable to connect to the free WiFi. After leaving customs the exit area is large! Full of restaurants, shops, and a 7-11. The one thing it's missing are places to buy SIM cards. The one place was a stand inside the 7-11. This was a Lycamobile which from my research is the worst option (3g service). At the end of the exit area is the Flytoget airport express train to downtown Oslo. Seriously this couldn't be easier. Everything is automated but they have agents too. This is the best way to get to Oslo! read more
