more like 3.5 stars, a small family owned joint I didn't have much expectation, but the food was decent, the price is good, and the portion is quite generous I ordered tempura udon, which is usually served with 1 or 2 pieces of tempura shrimp but this one came with full 5,6 pieces of assorted tempura, and I really appreciated the fact that they serve the tempura on the side instead of soaking them all in the soup read more

I ordered takeout from here via eat24 (which was super easy and convenient) as I didnt feel like getting all ready to sit down for dinner somewhere. Their menu is very extensive, including everything from soups and salads to small portions and regular portions of sushi rolls. I chose an order of edamame and a ginger salad (both only $2.99 each) and a shrimp roll. My order was ready to be picked up within 20 minutes of placing the order. When I arrived to pick it up, I drove past the restaurant the first time as it is a pretty small establishment, in a shared building with other businesses... just keep your eyes peeled so you don't miss it! Everything I ordered was very fresh! The edamame was delicious and the ginger salad was better than most I've had at similar restaurants... it included avocado on top (yum!), and the ginger dressing wasn't as thick as usual; it was more of a ginger vinaigrette, which I enjoyed. The sushi was pretty standard as far as shrimp rolls go. It wasn't anything special, but I also did not have any complaints and ate the whole thing! This is a great little restaurant, with decent prices and quick service (for takeout orders, at least). read more

Ordered delivery via Yelp. Food arrived after about one hour but within the estimated window of 45-90 minutes. $4 for two pieces of sashimi. Fish tastes fine but the slices (especially of the eel) are only about one tenth inch thick! Previous reviews raved about the good quality-price ratio. I agree with quality but portion is not as generous as I expected after reading those reviews. Perhaps they all ordered sushi rolls. Bottomline: Stick with Sushi rolls if you don't want to spend $50+ on dinner with sashimi. read more

This place is very close to my house and has some pretty good deals, which makes them an easy choice when I'm craving sushi and don't want to pay too much money. The food itself is good with a nice variety. The inside of the restaurant feels warm and cozy. I've never eaten at the location (I always end up with take-out), but the staff seems friendly. It's hard to beat the convenience of having a nice sushi place down the street so I'm sure they'll be getting lots more repeat business from me! read more

Oshimi Sushi - Left to right: ikura nigiri, white tuna nigiri, spicy tuna roll, crunchy unagi roll - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

Oshimi is somewhat close to my house, so I was excited to try it out based on the reviews. I was feeling lazy, so ordered take out rather than dining in. The parking situation is a little bit tricky, with parking in the back. If I hadn't known this ahead of time, I would've been very frustrated trying to figure out where to park, particularly because Broadway is always packed with traffic around dinner time. Had I decided to dine in, I think it would've been a tranquil experience. The restaurant is small, but they've used the space wisely to optimize the seating availability. The employees I interacted with as I paid and picked up my take out were friendly and prompt as well. The sushi was pretty good, which I was super excited about. I am a big spicy tuna fan, so was a little disappointed because it seemed to just be tuna with spicy sauce on top, rather than all mixed together in the roll. The crunchy Alaskan roll was AMAZING, and I thought the Kentucky Signature roll was fine - the chicken was a bit dry but the flavor overall was good. The California roll was fine - nothing extraordinary at all. I will absolutely be back - there was TONS of rolls that sounded delicious and the prices were so, so reasonable. They have a lot of specials too (we got buy 3 get one roll free and the California roll for only $3 for our order), plus a Yelp coupon - check those out before you go! read more

I love sushi. I repeat, I love sushi. I have made my body suffer at times because my brain loves sushi so much I don't know when to stop (I do know when, but really, who can stop when so much amazing is sitting in front of you). Oshimi took over after the very sad departure of Mr. Seki and his wife. They were absolutely fantastic, and when Seki was in charge, you had to be royalty just to get a table. There was a brief time when one of their workers (possibly a son or relative) opened the restaurant, but it just didn't have the right quality. When Oshimi opened, I was hesitant, but this is my go-to place. There are other sushi places in town that may have slightly higher quality fish, or stickier rice, or quicker service, but this place hits the cost and portion on the head and makes those other points slightly less crucial. I can't even begin to name what is good, because I haven't had anything bad (except a cold order of pork dumplings). Every roll we have ordered has been spot on. The price is impossible to beat in town unless you want to go to Kroger, but that is slightly overpriced once you experience Oshimi. If there are any drawbacks, 1 is the parking (which is currently worse because of construction next to the building), and 2 would be the service. The young kid that serves us most of the time is just a little haphazard and slow. But, they use Open 24 a couple of other delivery services, so lunch sushi is on point for the guys and I at the store. read more

Are usually go in all the time and eat there with my friend, but today I ended up ordering through DoorDash. When the order came I had ordered two orders of crab Rangoon because I loved their crab Rangoon but whenever I opened the to go box, the crab Rangoon was nothing like it used to be. It was basically frozen crab Rangoon that they threw in the fryer. It tasted like pure cream cheese which I'm guessing is all that's in it. I am very upset about this. Also, they forgot the sauce that comes with the crab Rangoon. The sushi is OK, but not as good as it used to be. When I called the restaurant and told them my situation, the female on the phone told me that they had changed their menu completely. I wish they would've told me this whenever I had called before ordering. I don't think I will be going back sadly. read more

I just ate here for the first time. My roommate and I ordered separately, and forgot to order drinks. I purchased some there, but unfortunately I had to buy the largest drink size available because they were "out" of the others. This was a little sketchy. However, the sushi itself was amazing. The takeout presentation was pretty great, with everything needed wain the bag. I can speak for the house salad and dressing, as well as the California roll, and they were well worth the price and much better than expected. This may be our new "go-to". read more

They literally don't answer the phone for delivery. I get that it's 2:05 and you close at 2:30 but don't be lazy. If your open, then that's the times.. it's really frustrating read more

Ive been eating from here off and on since the change happened years ago. The sushi deals from a couple years ago were the best but the prices still seem very reasonable. The nigiri sizes are amazing and some of the largest in town. The roll selection has always been more appealing to me the a lot of the other places. The additions of all the cooked items has definitely opened up more options. The teriyaki beef bowl has become the new goto for a fast inexpensive super tasty meal, pair that with a nigiri order and its less than 15 bucks and its a great japanese night without the airfare. It should be noted ive only ate inside a couple times and its been a couple yrs since then. The takeout option is crucial. read more

The location is where Seki used to be. Went here for lunch today and was very happy with the service, selection and the quality of the food. They greeted us with miso soup. No complaints and I ordered some more. They have a large selection of rolls and a small selection of seats, so be prepared for take out of its crowded. I ordered 2 rolls and some sashimi and it was excellently prepared, tasted fresh and was served pretty quickly. The rolls weren't very thick, so I could have ordered another set and been happy, but I wasn't looking to leave too full. I left happy, and I'll be looking for a reason to return. For the two of us, it was just over $50 with a tip. Parking is in the back, just turn into the driveway on the left. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but if check if it's dinner time on a Friday or a Saturday. Seki used to be impossible to get into without one. read more

We've only ordered the food once, but the tempura was fixed perfectly. You can tell they use fresh oil to fix the tempura, too, which makes it so good! We also had the spicy tuna roll and the California roll, and it was delish! The seafood noodle soup had tasty broth, but very little seafood. I would definitely order from them again! read more

Great sushi for a great price. It is a low key place that give you soup as a starter with your sushi. It is not usually crowded or busy so you get your sushi quick. All their ingredients are fresh and they have a large variety of different rolls to choose from. If you like sushi check out this place! read more

They are right down the road from me. Delicious food. Friendly people. Cannot go wrong with any of the menu items. My personal favorite is the Crunchy Unagi Roll! read more

Great sushi, fantastic variety, and excellent service! This was our first visit and we made a reservation online. We had a large party of 11 and our table was ready for us when we arrived. We were served complimentary miso soup as an appetizer almost immediately. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the prices were very reasonable - better than most places. The menu was fairly extensive with several unique and interesting rolls. It's not a fancy place, but we received first class service all evening. The chef even sent over a couple special dishes for us to sample. We will definitely be back! read more

This place is a hidden gem. Food is excellent, so fresh, and very reasonable. My daughter loves eating here, they even have a kids sushi section on the menu. Last visit the owner gave her a hello kitty doll, which was so kind and made quite an impression. read more

Very nice people here. The udon soup was the highlight. Unfortunately the sushi wasn't my favorite.

I had them deliver the food to me. The food came pretty fast and packaged very well. I will definitely order this again (maybe tonight). The sushi was pretty good too. read more

Based on the reviews I decided to check it out. My kids live close by and I was craving sushi. The sushi was good. And I'd say they have a good take out business. I would eat there if I could just run in and get it. But to go in....skip it. No atmosphere, no liquor license, no sake, little ice in my tea. So if you're calling it in go for it. read more

The yum yum roll was amazing! They are definitely good at making sushi. There other items aren't nearly as good, but if your looking for good sushi this is the place to go. They did not let me know this before I got the item but fried rice cost $2 extra to get instead of steamed other then that the salmon was slightly over cooked on the edges and it was really warm in there. Next time I'll probably get it to go. read more

Oshimi Sushi - The yum yum role is super good I definitely suggest it. Comes with ten pieces and it fills you up! In love! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

I really like this place! The Takoyaki are the best and the price for sushi is very reasonable too!

Good service. Okay presentation. The taste is heavy and lack luster. You get what you pay for, go to Buddha Lounge

Oshimi is good for a quick bite during your lunch break. Not exactly great to park at (We all know how Broadway is during lunch rush) but good. I've ordered online and ate inside multiple times and have had good experiences. Wait staff seem a tad uninterested or are loudly playing music on their computers sitting in the back. This sort of gives off a funny atmosphere but I can't say I blame them, I'd be bored on slow days, too. Usually fairly empty on the inside, which is nice when you want a quiet solo lunch date. read more

Disappointed on my first visit. Had an order to go. Salad -lettuce wilted. Rainbow roll -only 3 types of fish. Wasn't cut all the way through so it fell apart on me. People...don't assume that new customers don't know their sushi. Not my best experience by far. read more

I would be giving 3 stars for the food, but one more star for the price. If you are looking for Americanized sushi with a reasonable price, then look no further. One time they had $1 beer. The atmosphere was good as well. read more

Fantastic prices and daily specials; literally everything we tried tasted great. Two people had drinks, two appetizers, and three rolls for about $25 for lunch! It's hit and miss with this place delivery wise. Seems they have drivers stack orders which leads to cold food when it arrives to people. The food can be great at time when it arrives on time, but if it take two hours to get your food and it's been sitting in a car for an hour not so much. I received my order today and the vegetable tempura which normally has robust size vegetable and is typically not stingy with the amount was quite frankly awful this time. I've grown to love this places food when it delivers on the advertised promised delivery times and food quality is up to standard. But this is the third time this has happen which leads me to believe it's not worth the hassle if you only get the right service and order half the time. Maybe I will go in person to eat here some time, but will likely not order delivery from here again. read more

Great sushi! Wonderful portion sizes but don't order delivery from Eat 24 because it took an hour and half to get my food

Great service. Great food. Great price. Katsudon is tasty along with all sushi. Definitely recommend for any sushi lovers.

Really don't know why people like this place. Food was very meh. No flavor. Rolled sushi was sloppy. Rice was mushy and poorly cooked.

The food was good. We ordered delivery but they forgot chopsticks/silverware and soy sauce.

Very, very bad service, and my roll looked like the sushi from Kroger. Save your time and money - go somewhere else.

Wasn't expecting such tasty, reasonably priced sushi in Lexington! The server was so sweet with my 8yo and even gave her a stuffed Hello Kitty to take home! We will definitely be back next time we are visiting our daughter at U.K.! read more

I was excited to try this place but sadly it was a complete let down. I'm not one to give bad reviews but this place was terrible- maybe they were having an off day? I ordered delivery and it's was 6 minutes shy of two hours and two phone calls later before I got my food. The guy who delivered the food was nice but stated that the delivery took so long because he was not supposed to be at work and was in class when I ordered my food then quickly walked back to his car before I had time to respond or give a tip. Upon delivery, my food was cold and my sushi was soggy(it was fried). Also, the containers of soy sauce were dumped over in the bag and was a huge mess. I really wanted to like this place but will probably never order delivery again or dine in at this business. read more

Good sushi place!!! Very reasonable prices!! I just got take out, but definitely will be back to eat in. This dining area is so cute!
