Oseyo is my absolute favorite asian market everrrrr!! it's a very small chain, the first one i visited was in London and then i found one closer to home in Cambridge! It's marketed as a korean market as the majority of the items they do stock are korean, but there is a section for japanese and chinese food items as well!
what i love most is that while the labels may be in a foreign language, the store itself makes sure the labels state what the item is! which is super helpful if your wifi cuts out and you can't access a translator or something. aside from that, they have a wide assortment of fresh foods, frozen foods (like bao buns, dumplings, tempura shrimp skewers, etc) as well as a full selection of sliced meats for ramen, pho and hot pots! which, in england, is so hard to find at the market or even a butcher shop without paying an exorbitant amount.
it is a market, it's very small so yeah it gets crowded sometimes but it's not a big deal. parking is easy since it's connected to the Lion Yard and Grand Arcade mall so there's a parking structure which is super handy, and it's surrounded by loads of other shops so you can get plenty done if you just need to pop into Oseyo for something quickly.
i'm grateful to have found this shop, because i loveeee tteokbokki but finding rice cakes, gochujang, korean dashi and gochugaru on the economy was becoming a sincere pain and expensive as i was going to have to use online stores to ship the products to me. now i just make a 30ish minute drive down to cambridge and stock up when i need too! definitely so happy to have found a great asian market close to me after growing up in SoCal and having 99 Ranch and H-Mart all over the place! 5 stars to oseyo for having what i need, having super friendly employees and duh, just being a great place to shop! read more
