This place is so awesome I had to visit it twice during my stay in Munich. The homemade cheesecake…read moreis to die for, seriously. Well, maybe quite not that much. The menu is small but there is no way you could easily get tired of it. We had the hummus falafel platter as a shared starter on both our visits. The fresh sprouts on top give it that amazing crunchy and fibrous texture. You have to try it. My only wish is for it to come with more than the two pieces of bread. For mains, I tried the watermelon steak, and wow, I had had nothing like it before. It was thick, juicy, and red! The accompanying sauces and spices were amazing. Why do people even eat real animals anymore?! The drink selection is sparse, but I enjoyed the hot ginger drink. They do have nice wines and beers. Water seems to be a paid option. He desserts are the signature menu item. I was told that the cheesecake is made fresh every day, although the flavors are kept a surprise. One time I had something with peanut butter and the other time a more plain one. Try to get a table outside. It really captures the essence of dining in one of Munich's youngest areas. I would love to go back on my next Munich trip!

Cafe Gratitude is a lovely place in the heart of Munich, where gratitude is in the air: gratitude…read morefor the tasty and healthy natural food, for the talented cook that brings art in preparing the raw food, for the welcoming and friendly employees and for enjoying a wonderful time with friends. A small tip: this is not just a cafe or a restaurant, this is a community of raw food fans and of nice people that build up their connections and support each other, meet each other very often and organize diverse events or seminars around the Cafe, just ask about their community as well when you will enjoy your time in the Cafe! I was lucky to meet the inspiring founders of Cafe Gratitude in August at a raw food workshop and from what I know, they planned to come back soon, it's a workshop worth attending for all those interested in joining the Cafe Gratitude community. Back in August, Cafe Gratitude Munich was just in plan, now it's a very nice reality and it's one of the places where I could stay all day long, it's part of my favourite cosy homey places in Munich. I recommend it to everyone, whether you are vegetarian or you are not so much into veggies, just try a few raw food dishes and then you will realize that eating raw is much more tastier than expected when it's properly prepared like it is in Cafe Gratitude and it's giving a boost to your energy too! :) I've added already photos of the delicious healthy food that I've got there, more to come from my next visit there! :) And after you will visit Cafe Gratitude, don't forget to let us know here on Yelp "What are you grateful for?" ;))

Mushroom sauce was umami and creamy! Love that they serve salad with each dish. Highly recommend for vegans and vegetarians alike!

A really great dining experience…read more The atmosphere is upscale cafe - the tables have a nice mix of friendly and in the mix and private - although you are close together you don't feel close enough that others are eavesdropping on conversations. Service is friendly and helpful. Also appreciated there were gender neutral bathrooms. The drinks were great - nice to go somewhere with a diverse non alcoholic menu. I had an NA beer and my spouse had a strawberry matcha latte - I was definitely jealous of her drink as it was beautifully presented and well prepared. Food was also very good. We went all out - got a cashew cheese starter, schnitzel, a bowl, and ice cream for dessert. The schnitzel was a standout - my spouse doesn't eat meat but really wanted to try schnitzel - I do and think this one was better seasoned and prepared than the meat ones I had. My bowl was hearty and flavorful - especially liked the peanut sauce. And we loved that we could choose three flavors for the ice cream! Would definitely go back.

In the sense they tend to add a dash of curry sauce or curry flavoring in their fillings for both meat and vegetables that give it a unique taste that I have only seen served in Nepal. I hear their Thalis are excellent, so I hope to be back to try that out. 22 euros for this meal in the picture meanwhile. A but on the expensive side but Nepali restaurants are a rarity...

Nepal Haus was an amazing find in Munich. It seems to be run by one dude. I don't know if he cooks…read moreas well. Hopefully, he has a cook in the back. This place looks pretty authentic. Also most Nepalese can speak English, and the dude could speak English quite well, even though he said he hasn't practiced in many years. The place is small. They have maybe a few tables inside and outside. Luckily, it wasn't that busy when we came. I would advise sitting outside. It was super-hot inside. They have a big menu. Everything looked good. I tried their momo or dumplings. It was like your traditional Chinese dumplings, but the fillings had more of an Indian flavor. Nepal uses a lot of spices similar to India. I loved the flavors. It was so different, yet familiar to me. Their Veggie Dal Bhat is your basic vegetarian platter with Dal (lentil soup), potatoes, chickpeas, and other veggie goodness. They all had great flavor from the many spices they used. They also have a bunch of fried noodle dishes, so I tried one. It came with chili sauce, that reminded me of sambal oelek. The noodle were cooked well, and I liked the flavor. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the food. It's a great place to check out if you're near the Ostbahnhof (munich east station) and want to take a break from all the heavy, Bavarian foods.
