Wish I read the yelp reviews before going. Of course it was an urgent matter so there wasn't much…read moretime to shop around. Last Monday, I was feeling tightness and pressure in my chest and my heart rate was super high, so I wanted a doctor to listen to my heart and lungs and do EKG to be sure I hadn't or wasn't about to have a heart attack. It was end of day and they saw me promptly and were nice. My heart seemed fine, good EKG. I asked for a Covid test because I am visiting my 5 year old unvaccinated niece and something was off so I wanted to be very certain. We did the Covid test (not rapid one; regular) results were going to be in "about a day". Okay great. In about a day, I was emailed a pdf and the subject of the email was transcription from Stony Creek. I wasn't sure if this was just the notes from my visit or test results, there was no note with the email besides this: ***Please do not reply to this email*** If there is a problem with the attached document, please contact BUSINESS clinic at 203-483-4580 And then I went to open the email and it was PASSWORD PROTECTED. I tried everything I could think of for a password; social, phone number, email, first name, last name, date of birth...nothing worked...so I called the clinic. I began calling immediately and asking someone to call me back and let me know how to open the password protected email. No one called me back. A day or two later when I was calling, you could no longer even leave messages for the clinic as the mailbox was full. Still no one called me back. Listen, I was trying to be patient...it is Covid, a strange world and I know health care systems are stretched, but at this point I was going to be spending a lot of time with my niece and I wanted to be sure I was clear. So I called again. Finally I was able to reach the receptionist who connected me to someone else to give me my test results. The person who gave me my test results was really, really, really mean. She told me my results were negative and mentioned they sent me my test results in and email days ago. Her tone was horrific. I responded with how yes I received a password protected email and wasn't able to open it as I didn't know the password. And I let her know I had been calling for days. She said, the password is "1, 2, 3, 4" and "You've only been calling for three days!"...I have a few questions Why even password protect if you are going to do something like 1,2, 3, 4; and I'm sorry did I miss a memo about this being the standard for passwords in health care? Second, while I guess she was technically right that I had only been calling to get my results for 3 days. The facts are that I was at the urgent care Monday night getting the test, and I did not receive my results until just now...SATURDAY morning. That is a long time to wait when trying to be sure you are not spreading a very dangerous virus to your 5 year old niece AND a week is a long time to wait when you are visiting from California and only around for two weeks. Whomever I spoke to should not work for Stony Creek, they definitely shouldn't be able to speak to clients. Terrible.

Please do yourself a favor and do not waste your time coming here…read more I had called beforehand to get a wait time because usually the wait time is horrible. After being told that there were two providers in, and no one in the waiting room, I quickly got out of bed and rushed to the urgent care center. Upon arrival, I was the only one in the waiting room. I checked in with a girl, and she said they will be with you "shortly." How fast is shortly to them? I waited about a half hour with no one else waiting before me, for about 30 minutes. At this point I thought to myself I'm in for the long haul. A young medical assistant took me in and got all of my information including, medications I am currently on, and any allergies etc, then asked what's going on. I told her the whole story. Now I get another "doctor" who come to find out is a student PA. So if it's a student PA, how about we don't waste time, and have him observe the PA, because people are sick like me. He examined me head to toe, and asked me forty different questions. Next is the regular PA - we're on hour 2 now. I have to retell the whole story again. He gets confused by my story and prescribes nothing, because the student told him a bunch of stuff as well. Clearly I am congested but I don't "sound like it" and I'm coughing my brains out but that's fine, nothing for you. Just take an OTC med which I've been doing. He asks if I have these "pearls" which I know about but I only have ten left.. then looks at my chart which is now connected to Yale and sees all my information and starts questioning me about my refills of inhalers which I told the MA about in the first place, but she didn't write it down. He then calls my record "a bit muddy"... and he won't prescribe anything. This is completely disrespectful for a PA to say to a patient. So in conclusion, I wasted 3 hours of my time, to get nowhere and I left sicker than I came in. So, in conclusion, I won't be returning here. I hope it improves but I don't see it changing anytime soon.

The surgeons, doctors, and most of the nurses were top-notch. Nurses Naomi in the CTICU and Dai and Karla on SP 5-3 deserve a special shout-out for professional, compassionate and competent care. The real problem with YNHH is that it's a 45-hours-per-week hospital. It's practically a nursing home, except Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. Even then, it can take forever for procedures to be scheduled and to take place. Many departments close up shop for the weekend, and the ONLY goal for the remaining staff seems to be handing everyone, still alive, back to the active practitioners on Monday morning. In preparation for a discharge on Friday morning, a bedside attempt was made to place a PICC-line. When that failed, placement in radiology was needed, but they were unable to schedule that until the following Tuesday. FOUR extra days in the hospital, because of the weekend, and because of not enough personnel/resources to get him into IR in a timely fashion. A frustrating, and expensive delay! Enduring 4 needless inpatient days, with the noise, discomfort, unappetizing/ cold food, and increased risk of infection was unacceptable. There are reminders posted everywhere to SHHH (Silent Hospitals Help Healing), but the loudness in the hallways was intolerable. There is beeping from cardiac monitors 24/7. The CNAs, in particular, think nothing of sitting around the hallways, ignoring call bells, and loudly calling to or chatting with each other, while student nurses do their jobs for them. If the unit even has a manager, he or she was entirely invisible, and the CNAs clearly have no fear of being seen lounging or complaining. Someone's idea of management is obviously "let's put up signs," rather than actually monitoring what's happening on the unit.

The only reason I didn't slap tf out her is because when I get my diagnosis, IM SUING TF OUT ALL OF THESE PRACTICES!!! The last afc in Danbury I went to last year, I asked to speak to the doctor because the front desk GIRL was being rude and because I asked to speak to the doctor...SHE LITERALLY called the police on me. She was Spanish and I'm African American so we all know how that turned out. The lady yesterday was Spanish as well. Like I said I'm just waiting on my diagnosis and it's over for them. IM NEVER going to another afc and I'm gonna make sure NOBODY I know goes here either. COMPLETE TRASH!! I drive to Oxford and went to Priority one urgent care and the ENTIRE STAFF WAS SYMPATHETIC. She gave me some medicine to hold me over and gave me a kit to be tested. I didn't even have to take them back the kit, she arranged it where FED EX CAME RO MY HOME TO RETRIEVE RHE PACKAGE. She was so kind and empathetic. I'll never go to another urgent care. NEVER!!!
