They did not put our appointment time in correctly into their system so the Doctor had left for the day and the next available appointment was WEEKs later. After a virtual appointment a follow up was apparently needed yet never conveyed so weeks went by waiting on a medication only to follow up and be told we actually need an appointment. Will be switching practices as soon as possible.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this practice and would not recommend them to anyone…read more The reception staff are consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Every interaction I've had with them has been unpleasant, which is unacceptable for a medical office where patients are often already stressed. On top of that, I have received other patients' medical information in the mail due to what appears to be a mix-up with similar names. This is a serious privacy concern and a potential HIPAA violation. Recently, I was contacted for a follow-up after a hospital visit. During that call, the receptionist told me I was considered a "new patient" because I hadn't been seen in 3 years--despite being with this practice for over 20 years. The reality is that since COVID, they no longer treat common illnesses like colds or flu, forcing patients to go elsewhere. They scheduled me with a PA without clearly explaining this. When I called back to cancel and requested that my file be closed, I was told it was taken care of. Despite that, I later received an automated message stating I "missed" the appointment. When I called to resolve the issue, I was transferred to billing and met with more resistance. Instead of helping, they questioned me about who I spoke with and insisted the appointment was never canceled. The situation became so frustrating that I had to call multiple times--and even from a different number--just to get someone to address it. At one point, a staff member even hung up on me. This entire experience was stressful, disorganized, and completely unprofessional--especially concerning given the appointment was related to high blood pressure. I would strongly caution others before choosing this office.

Staff and the office were attentive to our needs as well. Check in was quick and easy. We were referred over to this practice and told they are the number 1 allergists in the state. We now know why!

We saw Dr. Hernandez-Trujillo, who had terrible bedside manner, but that could be looked past. We had a skin test done and the results prompted Dr. Hernandez-Trujillo to order bloodwork. She had told us that in the meantime she would prescribe an EpiPen. When we went to get the prescription we were told hadn't been called in and had to call the office multiple times over multiple days to finally get the prescription to the pharmacy. (Meanwhile, our son couldn't be in childcare without the EpiPen) We got his blood work done two days after the initial appointment and results came in a few days after that. We waited a week before calling the office to see if it was reviewed, and additional four days later, we still hadn't heard, so followed up again and we're told they would call us back. Hours later we talked with someone in the office that was incredibly insensitive and rude, including laughing at my husband for asking what the next steps would be and to clarify what "strict avoidance" meant. She was incredibly unhelpful, despite telling us that the results show a severe allergy, chiding us for not looking at the patient portal when it was updated 30min prior to them calling us. TL;DR : we had to follow up to get a prescription and blood test results, everyone we interacted with was a rude and insensitive, and the entire time we felt like we were an extremely low priority, despite having a life-threatening allergy identified for my 1yo.

DOCS of North Haven is convenient to my office so I decided to make an appointment. The website had appointments available essentially immediately and it was easy to book online. I arrived early and was in an exam room ahead of schedule. To be fair, it was a Tuesday afternoon and it was quiet when I arrived. YMMV on busyness. Dr. Ramanath reviewed my complaints, did a physical exam (eyes, ears, lungs etc) and posed some careful questions. After a brief discussion, he gave me a diagnosis and was up front with what I should expect with the medicine prescribed. It was helpful for him to frame how effective he thought each would be and how I would know if they were working properly. Importantly, he confirmed that all could be taken together without worry. He did a great job developing rapport with me in the process. I chose DOCS because I had visited there 5 or 6 years ago and was treated similarly well. Reading the other reviews here it feels like we visited two completely different places. I'm sure that time of day, day of week and time of year will impact how busy DOCS or any other urgent care center will be. All I can do is share my experience. I'm sure that DOCS, like any other business would be stressed with a huge influx of customers in a short period of time. In any event, it was quick and easy and I left very satisfied. The gals at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. With signing up online, I did not have to fill out another form or repeat what I had already done.

I'm then told that it is a virtual visit. Wasted time . If I needed Virtual assistance I would have stayed home and done that from my couch. I had an issue that needed to be worked on not just talked about. I went to New Haven Yale Urgent care and saw an actual person who assessed my issue. If the two attendants would have done their job and said more than nothing , I could have explained and not wasted all our time. Perhapse that are trained to wait until you get to the room to tell you you have no actual visit but just a facetime doctor . Bad idea .
