Make sure to get your prescriptions from the office, they do a horrible job of faxing them to the pharmacy. It's taken 2 days and we still don't have. Just terrible. They made of point of tell us how important it i to take medications, but then dropped the ball for 2 days to get prescription to pharmacy. A very racist receptionist named Bailey made this visit horrible. I witnessed Bailey, the receptionist, give an older black lady alone in a wheelchair with an obvious leg injury due to the large cast, her paperwork on a clipboard to complete and told her to bring it back when she was done. The lady was struggling to use the wheelchair which was obvious to anyone watching. The next patient for Bailey was a white lady using a walker, very well I must say. Instead of informing this lady to fill out the paperwork and bring it back to the desk as she did the black lady in the wheelchair, Bailey told her to sign each page and she completed the paperwork for the lady while standing at the desk. When I brought this obvious incident of racism to Bailey, all she said was...ok. Nothing more. That's just so sad. This is the only reason for the one star as the rest of the staff in the back was wonderful and pleasant. read more

OrthoAtlanta is one of the poorest ran healthcare companies I have encountered. They give very short notice for appointments that you must attend however are completely unresponsive in terms of communication on their end. I have now waited over 3 weeks for a response and have received no communication. In my experience in the health care industry this translates into very poor patient care and lack of follow through. My recommendation is to seek care elsewhere for your family members. read more

However they did not bother to work me in asap...they told me they could give me another appt...in a month! No apologies. Review is based on front desk attempting to make an appointment by phone. Lady was professional and cordial until I asked her to repeat a few of the information back due to my son making a tad bit noise in the backround. I am very new to all this and wanted everything to be clear and informative. I asked her if she could please repeat that again and some slight attitude of frustration reply was sent back to me. I understand everyone has there bad days, I just may have called at a bad time but lets remind someone, "you applied for front desk". After my firm reply I can cleary understand that she attempted to soften the tone up and go back to the robot talk, but its too late, you got Yelped. I've been with OrthoAtlanta since 2006. My physicians include Dr Schmidt, Dr Park, Dr Jones and Dr Jordan. I've had both hips replaced, shoulder surgery, and PT with Lindsey at the PTC branch. I can't say enough good things about everyone I've worked with. Sure, there have been times that it's taken me 1.5-2 hours start to finish.... but most of the time I'm in and out within 30 mins. If I ever need another orthopedist, I'll be right back at OrthoATL because of the following: Dr Schmidt is amazing. Probably the nicest doctor I've ever met. Thorough and ensures he's answered all my questions.... hence the reason I have no issue with having to wait just a bit. I'm sure I'm not the only one he's this good to, so let him spend a few extra mins with everyone before me. Dr Jones is very knowledgeable. Once we figured out what was wrong, she referred me to Dr Jordan... no problems here at all. I appreciated not getting the run around. Dr Jordan is equally as awesome as Dr Schmidt. There is never a wait time and she comes in so early that I can usually see her no later than 720 and make it to work on time. Her PA and staff are wonderful. My shoulder surgery had zero issues. She's no-nonsense, which is appreciated. Dr Parks is great. Prior to him, I saw a different back specialist and almost felt pressured to have a back surgery that only had around a 50% improvement rate... if you're lucky. He walked me through all the reasons not to do it unless absolutely necessary and set me up with a strengthening regime to help support the disc and vertebrae issues I have. Finally Lindsey- probably my favorite PT to this point- and I've seen quite a few. Super knowledgeable and helpful. I have no idea how she juggles us all, but she does it well. This has been the worst medical care I have ever received. Several canceled appointments from them. One appointment that was confirmed twice I checked in only to find out 40 minutes later that the doctor wasn't even there. Today I gave them a final chance. The wait time are ridiculous. My mother, with a broke back is called back and of course can not get on the table to lay down, the only position of comfort. Horrible experience. No idea I was given a pain management doctor when I visited their office for lack of balance and numb feet/legs. I was given gabapentin and scheduled for physical therapy as I gradually got worse. I tried to get some time off work and was told "the doctor doesn't give time off for pain!" Pain wasn't the issue? The fact that I barely could walk was the issue. I didn't get any real help until I started falling down. They finally gave me an MRI and my spinal cord was severely compressed in two spots and I was rushed into surgery. My balance is still very bad and my legs and feet are numb. Wonder if they diagnosed me properly earlier wonder if I'd be closer to my normal by now. They did a terrible job of listening. read more

Tracy Wimbush lacks compassion, customer service, and professional knowledge. This is in stark contrast to the level of service that I've come to expect from my Piedmont Healthcare providers. Besides waiting over an hour to be seen, she interpreted my test results incorrectly, and did not comprehend the difference of my CT scan vs. my MRI results. The more questions I asked, the more Tracy became flustered, attitudinal, and flagrantly dismissive. Tracy stormed out of the exam room, leaving the door wide open for all others to see me. She told me to follow up with my PCP because she was done with it. I was very baffled and confused. At the beginning of the appt, she told me she was very concerned about my health and not to rely on the information the ER neurologist gave me. Tracy wanted me to see her FRIEND neurologist in Riverdale ASAP. Then after I asked questions, she became curt, aggressively combative and told me to make an appt with my PCP. I was under the impression that a specialist would be better able to address these particular concerns, especially given her frequently referenced Harvard education. Unfortunately, this further compounded my anxiety and dizziness/ headaches. It is quite concerning that a healthcare "professional" would act in this manner and be a contributing factor to a patient's health concerns. Still attempting to get a copy of my records. I called the office in Stockbridge twice. No answer, just a recording. Called the number that I was given to obtain my records and found out that the company that prints the records is located in Huntsville, AL I was told that I needed to sign a release form and that the release form would be sent via email. Ok I have no problem with that, but I signed a release form when I was in the office, what happened to that one? Of course they don't have a copy of it on file. So I waited a few hours for the release form to be emailed, I never received it so I called back to request that another one be sent. It's 11:21pm, still no release form. Oh but what I did receive a bill for $211, perhaps they confused that bill with my records at this point I'm at my wits end so I asked if the information in the portal was the same and if I could print it out. Well she wasn't very familiar with the portal. But she did know that the information from the portal does not print. So my entire day of attempting to get my records has been useless. I originally came to this office because of how great they handled my shoulder surgery a few years back. Now i'm dealing with a radial head fracture (X-rays and original diagnosis by Peachtree Immediate urgent care). I came in for a check-up in order to verify everything that was told to me by urgent care and the PA Cynthia did just that after reviewing my X-rays I had brought in. Afterwards, I was told that their "new policy" was the orthopedic surgeon has to see me within 5 days if a fracture is involved so I complied. I came back in within 5 days for a follow-up and the appointment lasted a total of 5 minutes which was just to reiterate everything the urgent care and PA had already told me. At this point I was just a little frustrated because it was a waste of time and Dr. Orcutt did not check on the shoulder pain I expressed that I was having but I assumed since he was busy we would just wait and see how it would go over time. Then I received my bill... I was charged the maximum allowed for the visit by tacking on a "surgery" charge. Now the "surgery" charge can be misconstrued to be a wealth of things other than surgery so I've done my research on all of the CPT codes and discovered that was an erroneous charge. They must provide me with a medical supply (i.e. cast, sling, etc.) which they did not. Also, they charged it this way so I would be contained in a "Global Fracture Care" which means I won't get charged for any future office visits for 90 days, however they knew I would only have one for visit for additional X-rays which I would have to pay for. I'm now at the point where I have gotten the run around with the billing department for a full week. First I was told the Administrator was out for two days so I left a voicemail. Called back after two days to find she was out the entire week on vacation. Received a call that Friday to tell me "oh she's just out to lunch, i'll have her call you back when she returns". Called a few hours later to be told again that she was out for the week and would return on Monday. Here it is Monday and I hadn't received a call yet, so I phoned in only to find out she is out of the office yet again. It is very frustrating not being able to talk to anyone for over a week and a half about a billing issue and I have had no help in trying to get this done. Will definitely never come back after all of this mess is worked out and would recommend to all to please check your billing statements for any procedures/services from this facility. read more
