The incompetency and outright arrogance of these "Top Solicitors" is unbelievable. I received a letter from Orpen Franks to my home address, falsely accusing me of an incident that I (nor my vehicle) was ever involved with. In this letter, they referred to a vehicle registration number that was not associated with me in any way.
In their letter, they demanded that I "accept full responsibility" and "compensate their client". Further demanding that I "admit full liability to their client and with proposals as to how I intend to compensate him" also stating that they intend to "issue Court proceedings against me" and finally stating that they would "seek from me the costs of such proceedings"
Due to the fact that I was not involved in any such incident and that they had clearly stated an unknown vehicle reg in their letter, I responded to advise they had been clearly mistaken and that they needed to check this with their client.
Upon my reply, Orpen Franks followed up stating "that there was a typographical error made in our letter" and had now edited it with the vehicle registration of the vehicle I owned and that they were continuing with their false claim of me being involved in an incident with their client.
Due to their response, I replied reaffirming that I (nor my vehicle) were never involved in any such incident and that I would contest any such false claims accordingly.
Again showing their incompetence and arrogance, Orpen Franks responded to me claiming they had "photographs of the vehicle in question" along with insurance details from the windscreen.
They continued on to state "We have been given very clear instructions from our client and will be progressing his claim against the owner of the vehicle."
Apparently simply parking your vehicle on a public road is enough evidence for someone to pursue a claim against you, demanding compensation and threatening legal action.
From here Orpen Franks and their client contacted my insurer to pursue their false claim.
During the following months, my insurance premium was raised (conveniently Orpen Franks waited 7 months from the alleged incident to contact my insurer, just as it was due for renewal).
My insurer hired an investigator to meet with me and walk them through an incident that never happened, they also hired a damage consultant to inspect my vehicle, which was never involved in such an incident. All of this costing time and money for their pursuit of a false claim.
Eventually, after months of investigation and stress caused by Orpen Franks and their client, my insurer informed me they had dropped their claim as apparently...... they had the contact details of the real person who was involved in this alleged incident the whole time but never contacted them until now.
They went on to admit that because my vehicle was parked on the same public street, I had been wrongly identified in the incident.
Orpen Franks aggressively and continually accused me of a false allegation on behalf of their client with absolutely zero evidence that I was involved. They chased me for compensation, threatened legal action and raised a false claim with my insurance company, costing me money, stress, time and embrassement of being faslely accused.
When I reached out for an apology from them and their client I was met with a less than apologetic response stating "We acknowledge that you have no liability, and the matter has been concluded."
Obviously I have no liability!!! I was not involved in any way in the false accusations they made against me.
I find the lack of apology from them and their client to be completely outrageous considering the circumstances and their demands for me to take responsibility, threats of legal actions, while also submitting a 100% false claim to my insurance company.
Based on other reviews I've read, this is only the tip of the iceberg in being involved with this crowd so I would advise anybody thinking of using their services to look elsewhere. read more
