I was recommended to get in touch with Callan Tansey Solicitors regarding a medical negligence…read morecase.
Having had a speedy response after my initial query regarding the firm potentially representing me, I had a call with a practicing solicitor at the firm, (the practicing solicitors name is similar to a famous Scottish tennis players name) I was advised (by the solicitor) to send across some information and a background to the case,
I followed up a few days later and was told the solicitor was busy, I requested his contact telephone number and or his email address in which case I was told the firm dont give contact details out, I was advised the solicitor would call me back,
I called the firm every 2 days for 13 days, every time I called I was told the solicitor is busy or on a call, not one single time did the solicitor phone me or the secretary after I sent the background to the case, as requested.
I am quite frankly shocked at the way in which the firm dealt with me, every time I called I was re assured the solicitor will call me back, after 13 days I eventually called the secretary and said that I will call back before lunch, after lunch and before the evening because the case is very important to me and I simply cant wait any longer, I only need to speak to the solicitor for a brief few moments, after all, he requested I send in a background and some documents for him to "have a look", I was immediately met with pushback by the secretary, who seemed to take me conveying I will call again to ensure I can reach him as offensive, and low and behold the solicitor in question rang me within minutes to say he is not prepared to take my case, he said he "was busy in court" and said "you sent in the documents last week" and "iv been busy" (it was actually 13 days ago).
I conveyed to him its absolutely disrespectful, the way I have been treated, a simple 5 minute call would suffice, I said it is no way to treat a prospective client, you made the time to have an initial conversation with me, you requested I send in documents and you wouldn't even phone me back after my numerous attempts over 13 days to speak to you, it is preposterous that you claim to be so busy you cant make 5 mins to call back a prospective client who you requested send documents, that take you no longer than 5 minutes to read.
I want a solicitor who has integrity, who treats clients with respect and has the decency to phone someone back, and if they dont, then to simply say, I am at full capacity, am very busy and for this reason I cant take the case,
I am sure anyone who has had suffered medical negligence can appreciate the frustrating and long process entailed in pursuing a medical negligence case, not the least the emotional stress, I am shocked that such a firm would treat a prospective client this way, especially given they initially came across as courteous, professional and capable,
On reflection I would have zero confidence in the firms ability to provide adequate representation, it seems they couldn't care less about their clients, it seems they are cherry picking the cases that would bring the most fees to the firm, it seems clients are nothing more than numbers to them, and their actions speak far louder than their words,
I was referred to this firm by someone close to me, and I have conveyed my experience to my friends and family in the course of conversation, . My experience has been very frustrating and to be dealt with and spoken to by this solicitor having experienced the above to me, there is no excuse, its down right ignorant,
Sincerely,
Gary
