This RV park presents…read morebeautifully. 5 stars, however it's the important things you need while RVing that are missing and and can not be overlooked. The water pressure most of the time was nonexistent. It would be strong then nothing. Really a problem when showing or washing clothes. The hot tub, which at this time of year is a must has been down indefinitely. The story is they are waiting on parts. There 1, count them 1 maintenance man. I spoke to him and he is doing doubles because " they can find anyone". Then close part of your park because that isn't cutting it. Had to ask for an umbrella at the pool. Pool water is freezing and without a hot tub makes lazy days off not enjoyable. Site was a super site costly much more money on inlet. The site bearly fits our 40' Tiffin and there is no room to walk around the sides. Also no room for awning to go out. The dog walk area is so dirty with poop, it smelled and wouldn't let my pet go in. Lastly they have a gate to make it a gated commmnity and being in a commercial area this is important. Well it's been since Tuesday that it's been broken and we were told it was being fixed Thursday. Still locked open. I reported all these issues to the front desk manager and I must had been the unteenth person because she smiled and gave us the "canned" responses. I most likely would not come here again unless I knew everything g was fixed. To top it off we are here during g Jazz fest and they charged a premium for what I term a non-functional park.

Don't try to come back here around 5 PM that's when the rides are $32 (of which the driver gets less than $10)! Nice wide, level, gravel sites. Staff very friendly. Gated at night so make sure you have the code to get in! It's in an industrial area that got killed by Katrina and isn't coming back. Having said that, we never felt unsafe, and we would definitely stay here again. Free WiFi is only in the office and restaurant area. Laundry is coin operated only so make sure you have your quarters. Every one of our ride share drivers said they were surprised at how nice the park is and all Commented that it is nicer than the one that is closer to the French Quarter. We would stay here again if we were in NOLA.

Myrtle Grove is a great place to go fishing, duck hunting, and just see the bounty of the wetlands…read moreof Louisiana. There are crabs, ducks, gators, fish, and all sorts of other wildlife in abundance. The Marina offers supplies and live bait for your adventures. Even if you don't have a boat for a small fee you can just fish right off the docks of the Marina (and there are some huge redfish jumping all over the place around the docks). It is the only place in the area so some of the things are priced at a premium so plan accordingly. The Marina offers an excellent fish cleaning station that is so convenient that it makes it worth your while to pay the launch or dock usage fees so you don't have to do the messy job at home. Definitely one of the best places for redfish, crabs, and trout within range of a very quick drive from New Orleans. Myrtle Grove Marina video review: https://youtu.be/s8UaWHms7zg

The guy was like "wu, wu, wu, what did you use for bait"?? His stuttering got to be so bad he could hardly get the words out. He was like that attorney in "my cousin vinny". He kept asking a bunch of questions- "do, do, do, do you fish the top or the bottom?" "Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo like live bait or u, u,u, u, use beetles?" When the guy asked him "we, we, we, well how many fish did you catch?" my boy replied "5, 5, and 5. (Pointing to each of the three persons in his group as he said 5) Why!? What the fu@& do you CARE?!" and he hurled some insults about his speech and intellect... The guy didn't stutter one bit. He pulled out a badge and said "I want to know because I'm with wildlife and fisheries. You're not 5, 5, and 5- because I've been here watching you the whole time. You're 5 & 10 over the limit at $500 a fish. He is zero, and he is zero (pointing at the other two guys), so could you please sign this citation and I'll see you Monday morning at the courthouse on canal st. with your $5000 fine!!" We all liked to die when the guy lost his "disabled act". Everyone let their guard down partially because we were in a place where you pay, think there's some type of protection, but nope!

    Marina Beau Chene

Marina Beau Chene is an excellent neighborhood…read more The first thing you notice when entering this neighborhood is that it is gated and staffed by a uniformed security guard. As a person who appreciates the idea of high security and safety, I like that feature. If you are able to get past the initial screening you will notice you've entered an idyllic environment. Homes are beautiful, yards are well manicured and everyone seems friendly. I have no idea if the people are genuinely friendly, but they do wave at me as I drive by. I guess they could be signaling that I am #1 or something, but I digress. The most beautiful feature of this neighborhood is not the gate, the homes or the people. It's the marina. I wont tell you exactly where the marina is located since that would defeat the whole safe and secure environment thing. What I can tell you is that should you have a boat, this would be a good place to keep it. Whether that boat is a nice sized fishing vessel or a large live aboard yacht, you can find it all here. The slips will fit vessels that are 30', 40' or 50'. You can also get into the Tchefuncte River and Lake Pontchartrain if you decide to leave the comfort of the marina. If you are in the market for a boat, or just like to dream about one day owning one, there are always several nice examples for sale here. My favorites were the late 70s live aboard Chris Craft or the waterfront condo with a slip that were both for sale. If you can get past the security, this is a great place to live or visit.

I arrived on New Year's Eve to celebrate with a bunch of girlfriends at the house and then later on at the Chimes. The security gentleman was courteous and remember to give them your name, the name of the people you are visiting, and their address. It is a gated community and when we arrived later that evening we had to enter through the main Beau Chene entrance which is also gated. So prepare to give the same information. It is a beautiful neighborhood but be careful and drive slowly because it is windy roads and at night there was a dog that ran in front of my car. Fortunately I was going super slow and waited until he moved on. The houses are well lit but the streets themselves don't have street lights so again, proceed slowly. My girlfriend's parents built their dream home here and their gorgeous home overlooks the marina with numerous boats. Like any gated community it appears that people maintain their property well. There was a friendly vibe and my friend's personal trainer lived a few doors down. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the front porch, back deck, and the marina!

Cochiara is one such gem. Growing up in South Louisiana I spent a lot of time in Grand Isle. Heading there we would always stop at a friend's gas station/fishing supply/bar on the way to the island. I always remember the old men sitting at the bar laughing and drinking while we tried to convince my parents to buy us candy. Throughout the years I have visited many a boat launch and marina in Louisiana fishing communities with similar businesses. These places have always reminded me of those family trips and they always bring me great joy. After a recent trip to Boutte's for dinner, I discovered another place that made my quite happy. Cochiara is the convenience store/bar next to a boat launch. There used to be hotel rooms here, but I think they no longer exist. Inside is much more of a bar than convenience store, but there are chips and soft drinks should you need supplies for a fishing trip. The crowd was primarily local, but very friendly. I think I was tested by some locals when they noticed me singing David Alan Coe, but I must have passed with flying colors as they welcomed us with open arms. This may have been because I am a very likable guy with an incredible knowledge of country music. If you're not me, or not with me, you may have issues, but I will be glad to offer pointers for a small fee. The jukebox was stocked with old country classics, but also had some surprises including Madonna. The beer selection was somewhat lacking unless you are a fan of Bud products. When asked what beer they had besides Bud Light, the bartender advised of us of no less than seven different Bud products. If I buy a camp in Lafitte I will become a regular here. Even if I don't, I will make sure and stop on every trip I make. Note: I am thinking bars like this would make a great UYE. I wonder if we can figure out a way to do all waterfront bars one night.

It's a really big place with a pool table, a dance floor and a bunch of snacks that you can buy if you want something to munch on. In this town everyone knows everyone.
