Orlando replaced the radiator in my 1999 Land Cruiser and did an excellent job for a fair price. Highly recommend!

From the first phone call, this company helped put my mind at ease. The wife who assisted me was pleasant, professional, and understood the urgency. She explained the dispatch and diagnostic fee, sent the invoice promptly, and kept me updated on the mechanic's arrival time. She answered my texts and made sure I knew what was happening throughout the process. After diagnosing the problem, they explained the repair, sent pictures of the parts needed, and provided the parts and labor costs. The pricing was fair and more affordable than I expected. I truly appreciated their honesty, communication, and quick response. What impressed me most was that they followed up after the truck was back on the road to make sure everything was still running properly. That level of care means so much when your business depends on keeping trucks moving. In my years in OTR trucking, this is one of the most professional roadside service companies I have worked with. Professional, affordable, respectful, and honest! I would use them again without hesitation and gladly recommend them to other truck drivers and owner-operators. Thank you for helping us through a stressful situation. We truly appreciate you! "

New to the area, and in need of immediate repairs on our Jeep before the holiday weekend where we…read morehad a road trip planned back to Chicago, we sourced out some good reviews for Woody's Auto Repair Service in Ankeny. We could not have had a better experience. First, when I called on Monday because I was worried about what appeared to be a groaning water pump, they walked me through some potential simple fixes that didn't result in an expensive repair. As it turned out, they didn't solve the problem, and a difficult fix was necessary. I explained our need to get the truck fixed before the weekend, and Jim was especially thoughtful in keeping the grandparents happy that the kids were coming back for the weekend. We dropped the car off on Monday night for a Tuesday morning inspection where the fuel pump was found to be the problem. They called me early and went over the repair and parts and labor costs, and the estimated time to get the job done. Even though they were stacked up with jobs, they still turned the Jeep back around in less than a day. Amazing for the amount of work than needed to be done to access the fuel pump. After a less than positive experience at another local service shop recently, we couldn't be more appreciative of the work and effort of Jim and everyone at Woody's Auto Repair. And the grandparents are thrilled, too.

I've got to get this place above one measly star! We lived in West Des Moines for a couple years…read moreprior to moving back to Des Moines and frequented this place, most often for gas or coffee. The same guy was always behind the convenience store counter and we would go in so often that he would remember us and what we wanted (not sure if he's still there, also not sure what his name was). Always super friendly. TODAY however, we had to go in for the dreaded car repair. My husband had a mishap with the curb (of all things) and essentially knocked his right front tire completely out of alignment and nearly snapped the control bar, requiring a replacement of said parts along with a tire alignment. This all happened fairly close to the body shop so it was the closest place to get to without further driving/ruining his car. They got us in and out in just under two hours and the car drives like new again. Sh*t happens and it's awesome to have a place like this that actually cares about you, your well-being and the well-being of your vehicle. The mechanics explained everything very thoroughly [though we're both still car-mechanics-illiterate :) ] and made sure we knew what the problem was, what needed to be done to fix it and what the costs were going to be. They even had to order a part and they were still done in 2 hours! For what started out as a fairly terrible experience these guys made it as painless as dropping money on your self-inflicted car wounds can be. THANK YOU! Will return.

Chuck - you have the GALL to accuse me of being difficult & lying. HA! You are the quite prolific…read moreliar in your rebuttal. No surprise after ripping my mom off!!! Don't ever confuse being furious with being difficult! First LIE; Shawn, Bill & Shawn Jr ALL proudly shared with me the new 30K Engine Analyzer they had & would be using to diagnose the reason for the SERVICE ENGINE SOON warning dash light coming on. Second LIE; Yes THAT SERVICE ENGINE SOON is the correct light that was on & the reason I brought my mother's car in. Shawn was aware THAT was the warning dash light that was lit & he even reset it following their unneeded service. Not a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Third Lie; I DID NOT MOVE ANY BARREL blocking your carwash entrance & for you to accuse me of doing that is beyond ridiculous. If Shawn is such an honest guy, as you initially touted to me, he would have told you HE MOVED THAT BARREL & then told me to drive in & he'd start the carwash. It never started, not one drop of water was ever released. Shawn even apologized to me saying he was sorry he didn't realize it was not working. I was even told to come back in the Springtime for a free wash. I hope my reviews give future potential customers pause before taking their vehicle to your service center. Again with the false accusations. Any still pictures you claim to have of "a woman moving your barrel" is not me. Ask Shawn, IF he's the honest guy you say he is, he'll tell you the truth, HE MOVED THAT BARREL. YOU however are the height of an unprofessional businessman. Funny how when you texted me pleading with me to bring the car back you stated "I'm not like those other guys, I'm professional & I just want to make it right for you" HA AND by calling a dissatisfied customer a "Karen" immediately identifies you as a immature & hateful MAGA, certainly NOT ANY KIND OF PROFESSIONAL!

They quoted me just under $3,000 to change the gaskets, replace the catalytic convertor, and a myriad of other parts and services related to replacing the exhaust system. They also recommended I change the spark plugs. I had new spark plugs installed less than 100 miles earlier. When I asked them about this, they said it was only a "mileage based recommendation". Why should I trust any of their other diagnoses if they wanted $205 to replace spark plugs I just had installed? When I declined the service, the guy assisting me at the counter requested $49 "to throw at the technician". Not wanting an argument at the counter, I paid and figured I'd dispute the charges later. They put on a good front with the bottled water, shuttle service, and Biblical references on their website. They seem to have forgotten Matthew 22:39; the first verse they quote..."Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" I was able to go to a local shop and they welded/fixed the flex pipe for $120 without any of the BS.
