Strongly agree with DP. My delivery person is great and I just mailed a holiday "tip" THEN the new renewal bill came. For several years my Th/Sun subscription was $19.20 for a YEAR. With NO warning they are charging me $$12.28 for 4 MONTHS !!! That's nearly 4x the original amount....with NO warning. Bill arrived right on the holiday week with only the Philippine contact available. I am cringing in advance at the communication mess.I am already expecting the cancellation mess. $49 is TOO MUCH after $19.20 !!! I will miss Scott Maxwell and regret my delivery person losing an account.....but this is ridiculous. read more

I love the paper itself, but I recently tried starting a home print subscription and never received a SINGLE paper. Ofc support does nothing from where tf they're at, there's no way to talk to a local, and canceling is like pulling teeth. All and all just pay for the digital, because you're gonna get scammed for feeling nostalgic. POS doesn't even deserve one star. read more

We did not get our paper for several days. Customer Service is In the Philippines ONLY. There is no way to speak with a local representative to discuss the issue. Only batched to the Philippines. Let's see how long it takes to get the paper delivered again. Sold out to other countries. A local paper. read more

Save yourself too much energy and money. The paper is $&%^ since they were bought out. Customer service is worst than any other entity I've worked with. Even the contributors I used to like are writing gentle pieces of nothing, probably to please the owners...., even though they say they're not. read more

Deliver the paper. We get 1 delivery in a month. Terrible service. I called upper mgr and they promise they will get it fixed. Doesn't happen . I can't believe they can't fix this problem at all. read more

This is a rating for the owners of the paper who clearly are not local and don't care enough to spend the money to pay for quality customer service. I have been a subscriber for many years, off and on, mostly because I get so disgusted with the group that does "customer service". This time I'm off for good. I resubscribed 6/26/75 for 13 weeks which should have ended 9/18. About 2 weeks in I received a new invoice saying my subscription would end on 8/7 (6 weeks before it should) because of a "special edition" for $15.99. I have no idea what that "special edition" was, but I have never seen one from the Sentinel worth $15.99. Then I received another invoice saying my subscription ended on 7/13 (nonsense because I'm still receiving the paper.) I am done with being jerked around. The owners save money using them but if they lose a subscriber like me, is it really a good business decision? This is an addendum to the review I wrote on the 3rd: NEVER LET THEM HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR CREDIT CARD OR BANK ACCOUNT! I always paid by check so there was never a problem cancelling or trying to get a refund. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. We have had - and still have - delivery issues. Our paper wasn't delivered this past Thursday; we were told it would be redelivered. It wasn't. We didn't receive our paper today, either, but didn't bother to call on a Sunday - and we knew nothing much would happen. Any time we speak with a representative, we are told that if they don't redeliver, we will be credited for our missing papers - only the credit isn't financial; the credit comes in the form of adding an additional day to our subscription. The price of this horrible newspaper continues to go up, and the service continues to deteriorate. When we find a good replacement for local news, we'll be done with the Sentinel. read more

What a ripoff! I had a subscription for my mother for the Sun/Thurs paper, two papers per week. I was originally paying $93.46 quarterly. That jumped to $186.91 MONTHLY!! For two papers a week! They stated it was an increased charge for "premium" content. I didn't order premium content. My mother is 89 years old; she just wants a newspaper. When I told them to cancel my subscription, they offered me a rate of $96.92 quarterly. OK so, if I can get the paper for that price, I want my charges for $186.91 reduced. "No sir, we can't do that." read more

Stupid change to new format....difficult to navigate...wish there was an alternative. Would love to cancel

The Orlando sentinel seems to have problems with delivering the paper on the days you scheduled to deliver it. They also like to put extra magazines in the paper charge you for that so that your subscription runs out before it's supposed to. Calling to let them know that your service dog cannot pick up a heavy paper does not seem to matter to them whatsoever. Customer service is inaudible and rude. So if you're thinking of subscribing to Orlando sentinel delivery service this is what you'll have to look forward to good luck you're going to need it read more

Let's see how this goes. Called in November when I saw my digital subscription was $44 per month. When I talked the the rep, who was very difficult to understand, they told me they would lower it to $14 per month. Did not happen. Called again three months later and was told they would apply the $90 difference over the next 6 months. I will see next month if they charge my card again. Here is my issue. If I call to cancel my subscription because $528 a year for digital is ridiculous, why are the able to give me a $168 rate??? I hate being ripped off and having to complain when it happens. There is the rate for complainers and a much higher rate if you do not pay attention. What is up with that??? read more

Goodbye Orlando Sentinel. You are terminated! The Orlando Sentinel customer service and delivery are a disaster. The service has been regressing for years and now it is gone. Don't waste your time, money and energy looking for a paper delivery every morning because you will be disappointed. The delivery people, call center and supervisors do not care if you receive your paper and will tell you to just read the digital version. The only option is the digital version, however it is just not the same and is awkward to try and read online. Best wishes to all the reporters, journalists and photographers who have done an excellent job. read more

I would like to leave an update to the poor review I provided yesterday. I heard from the customer service department today. They will promptly give me a credit and cancel my subscription. I appreciate the newspaper's actions to remedy this problem. Thank you Julie and Jeffrey. Linda read more

We have been subscribers to this paper for many, many years. We had a wonderful delivery woman who promptly delivered our paper every morning with a smile and a cheery hello. But something must have happened to her and the paper has apparently not replaced her. My credit card is billed as always, but the paper has not been delivered in weeks. l call the customer service phone number every day to request re-delivery, but it still doesn't come. The company that recently took over this paper seems to be determined to run it into the ground. This local news source was essential to our community, but it seems clear that it is gone. Their downtown offices have closed, and it seems they don't have many local reporters left either. I am so frustrated and disappointed. read more

Had to write a review not because their delivery was bad (no issues there) but because their HEADLINE contradicts what AIRED LIVE AND was then printed ‍, which means, what was printed was a PERSONAL OPINION NOT BASED ON FACT, which isnt what I signed up for. I thought I was getting genuine Journalists.... Unless they revert back to being accurate and unbiased this newspaper seems to be nothing more than propaganda. keep looking for real journalists folks. read more

Orlando Sentinel - He clearly states "No Quid Pro Quo " in the live interview. - Print Media Near Me - Orlando, Florida

I have been a customer for 25+ years and finally had to cancel, the delivery person never gets the paper here anywhere near on time and often doesn't throw it at all. I have been complaining for months and just receive lip service saying how sorry they are and will correct the problem, nothing ever happens, they let him/her do as they please with no regard what so ever for their customers. Always read the fine print. The $17.76 offer seemed too good to be true. Your agreement is subject to: All subscriptions may include up to 14 premium issues at 9.99/ issue. I wish I could give this review a 0 but unfortunately, the system won't let me. Hubby and I ordered the paper but it never started. No one reaches out to us, nothing. I email their CS team and they kindly reply that our delivery person can't find our apartment. I confirm address and apartment building name. A week goes by-no paper. I reach out again and our delivery person insists that we are missing a digit or letter in our address. I've been somewhat calm this whole time because stuff happens but now I'm livid. I send a screenshot of my apartment door and tell them that what post office has on file! I've NEVER had any issue with getting mail! It gets better. After telling them to cancel, they say ok, effective February 2019! Wait, what! Weeks go by and I reach out again to ask why and have I been refunded. The day they receive the email is when they'll make it effective to credit my money back! After picking my jaw up from floor, I let them know I have NEVER received a paper or used their digital service! Why is this sooo difficult? We'll see how this ends. read more

My father-in-law pays over $1,000 a year to get his paper delivered. At least every 10 days a paper is undelivered, or two papers are delivered the next day... that day's and the one that should have been delivered yesterday. Today he got yesterday's Sunday paper along with today's. If I spent over one thousand dollars in your business year over year, how might you treat me as a customer? I would hope you would take your responsibilities more seriously. I don't read the Sentinel because it's OPED's are a touch too conservative, but even if they weren't I'm not stupid enough to throw money at a contractor who can't deliver the product. read more

Scammed me on digital subscriptions again. Completely untrustworthy imo. And the reporting is pretty average overall.

Sad to see our local paper's subscription service so poorly run. They keep telling me I am getting charged every eight weeks but continue to charge every four, which means I'm paying twice as much. They say they'll credit my account, but continue to charge my credit card every month, despite my calls. When I called to cancel, they said my subscription will expire in two weeks. Where did all my credit go? Goodbye, OS. Guess Orlando will be without a local paper soon. read more

I've been a subscriber at my office for over 7 years. I haven't received my physical newspaper (which I am subscribed to) in almost 2 months. I've called and emailed numerous times, but nobody cares to do anything. They have forced me to cancel. Very poor customer service. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. You sign up for delivery and they do not deliver. I do not do on line. So they do not deliver, I call on a Sunday and they said production problems and no papers. Then in I canceled and then they delivered Sundays in the afternoon and Monday and they want me to pay $10.00. CRAZY read more

Delivery sucks! I only get the paper on Thursdays and Sundays. At least that's the way it supposed to work. No newspaper delivery for a week. They, customer service from the Philippines, keep saying they will redeliver the same day but never do. The newspaper has not been delivered for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. Also, last Sunday's paper did not show up until late afternoon.

I like to wake up Sunday morning, have my coffee and read the paper. 8AM for me is too late! Most people are getting ready for weekend fun activities. What happened to the days when it was delivered very early in the morning and was always there when you wake up. Today it's 0838 and no paper! The paper is not good anymore! THE BIG SCAM...The Orlando Sentinel delivers my newspaper, on average, once every three days. This has been going on for the past 16 months. However, they never credit my account claiming, "we have no way of knowing if your paper was delivered." I call BS on that. The delivery people only get paid for the papers they delivery, so they have to file delivery reports daily. HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP END THIS HUGE SCAM... Keep track of the days your newspaper is not delivered. At the end of each week, call them at 407-420-5353 and request a refund for each day missed. If enough people to this, they may finally get the message and get their act together. PS, try to be nice to the customer service people, as they do not actually work for the scumbags at the Orlando Sentinel. read more

I subscribe to the digital edition and it is not worth the money. Articles by staff writers are non-existent and area coverage is poor. First off, prices are constantly changing. Check your bill every couple months. Second, no more coupons. Third, I'm lucky if my paper even got delivered. After years of subscribing, the last 2 months have been terrible. Back in the fall, I was contacted by the Sentinel that I would receive an extended subscription if I paid them over the phone. Apparently, that was not the case because I was asked to renew again a few months later rather than the agreed 4 months. No amount of disputing that fact was going to change their minds. After renewing anyways, I received 2 papers during a 2 months period. When I called to cancel the subscription (why pay for something I'm not getting) they begged me to give them one more weekend to "make it up to me and we promise it will be delivered. I canceled the following Monday because, as usual, it didn't show up. Until they fix their problems, I'm done with them. read more

I am so sick of not getting my paper I am going to quit my subscription. At least every other week I miss my paper and this week I did not get it on Thursday and again today the Sunday paper . I called twice today and was told I would get a paper but have waited all day but none came. There is no reason you people cannot do something about the people that deliver the paper out here. As of today I am quitting my subscription of the home paper and will never have it delivered again because it never gets here anyway. You need to do something about this problem. Marilyn M read more

A highly deceptive newspaper regarding subscriptions. Any trial will force you into some 'automatic subscription' you did not want or chose. When confronted, the sentinel says they are 'sorry' for the problem but keep your money. I enjoyed the Orlando coverage, but this paper is not worth the subscription. Go UCF! read more

First, receiving my newspaper daily is a crap shoot. It will come regularly and then it won't. I call, they say they are crediting me or someone will bring me the paper. That doesn't happen. Now they have charged me $133.90 for my subscription, however, they only credited $81.95 to my account. I have been calling and emailing with customer service for over a month now and no resolution. They keep telling me that they only charged me $81.95 but my bank statement shows $133.90. I am on auto pay. So today a guy calls me to tell me the same thing that the emails have been telling me. I have sent copies of my bank statement multiple times. He says they are escalating to billing which I was told they were doing 3 weeks ago. My subscription is now cancelled. Wish me luck getting my refund! read more

I subscribe to the Orlando Sentinel's "E" paper, along with Sunday & Thursday delivery. They have missed almost TWO, (2) weeks of delivery. Signed up for delivery several times and they can't deliver consistently. Every time I called to report the missing paper, they said "we're opening an investigation with the carrier to see why you're not getting your paper".
