If asked that question today I would point to Burrow Press as an example of one of the hidden treasures that this oft-missunderstood city has to offer and that helps make it so freaking great. Burrow Press is Orlando's independent publisher and one of the city's local lit promoters. BP (unfortunate acronym...) not only publishes books by fantastic up and coming writers, but it also publishes great anthologies (including the 15 Views series which began with 15 Views of Orlando); hosts local and international writers at the quarterlyish reading series, Functionally Literate; and partners with its sister children's literacy nonprofit, Page15, to publish the stories by Orlando's amazingly talented kids. Yeah, yeah, books schmucks. NO, diary! Not just books! Burrow Press keeps us reading, promotes arts and culture in our fine city, and reminds us that Orlando - nay, Florida- has more to offer the lit world than Carl Hiaasen. I have heard of Burrow Press from others around town and saw they had events like book signings for their releases and such but it wasn't until recently that I learned about everything they are doing for our community!! Their blog, and monthly reading series (http://therewillbewords.com/), are committed to fostering literary community in Orlando, and Florida all around. While they particularly love non-stereotypical Florida stories, they are open to all kinds of content, check out their submission info on their site. Now being an avid reader and writer, this is amazing to know this happens around the corner in my neighborhood. Milestone is absolutely THE BEST! They are extremely easy to schedule with, whether you want to do…read moreit by phone, email, or their website. The staff is always available to assist and are fantastic at their job. I've never encountered a problem with them and have never had a court reporter not show up to a scheduled job. Believe me...it's happened with other companies I've dealt with. They are also great with confirming jobs the day before. Trust me, this has saved me sometimes if I forgot to schedule or forgot to cancel something. Milestone also has conference rooms available for use if you need a spot for your deposition, and they will also help coordinate out of state depositions, which is a HUGE help! Recently I had an emergency where Plaintiff's counsel did not advise they needed an interpreter at our deposition until 15 minutes prior to the start time. I called up Milestone and within 5 minutes I got a call back saying they could have an interpreter there within 30 minutes or less after our scheduled start time for the deposition. It was so nice to have someone else fix my problem and just be able to sit back and wait for the phone call and not scramble making a bunch of calls myself. That right there is top notch service! Also, if you schedule a lot of depositions, trials, hearings, etc. they provide incentives. You can get gift cards for various places (or a particular place of your choosing) for every job that is scheduled and completed. There are ways to get extra incentives as well, for example: by booking a certain amount of jobs in a month's time. They also give great presets at Christmas (liquor, hint, hint) and for Admin's Day. I highly recommend scheduling any court reporting needs with Milestone. They'll make your life a lot easier!

I am also leaving my email because if something like this has happened to you please reach out to me. I am working on something on the back end. I retained this firm as a "women supporting women" business. Little did I know this company is a complete scam, fraud, and will knowingly not work on your case. Please please save yourself. 1.) I fired this firm January 8th after another $2,000 was deducted from my checking account with no work to be shown on their behalf. It is now February 11th and I myself am emailing the court for a hearing on the order to release them because the "fab Law firm" has not emailed to schedule it with the court . Instead they are wanting to stay on as counsel and drain my escrow. 2.) I submitted forms to them in November that were required by an order from the judge. They never submitted those forms to the court. Causing opposing counsel to file a contempt motion against me. 3.) Opposing counsel sent letters to this attorney which were sent back as "undeliverable" to them. 4.) I requested a call from this firm after a hearing in November it is now February and they have not returned that request. 5.) The Judge ordered mediation to be completed with in 20 days. I emailed and said I would take any days asap. They never schedule mediation. It is now February and I am scheduling mediation myself. 6.) My original attorney Alexis who was with this firm left and started her own firm. They never communicated that to me. I had to find out what was going on when my emails were bouncing back. Via a google search I found she was no longer there. 7.) I was told that my motion could be filed as an emergency motion to get my daughter back. They never filed it as an emergency instead they lied and said the "judge denied it" but on court records it tells you if the motions are filed as an emergency or not 8.) opposing counsel delivered discover in December via email to the fab law firm. That discovery was never relayed to me to do due diligence. Instead I had to email opposing counsel and ask where it was to figure out my attorney (fab law) had it the whole time. 9.) I was schedule to have a phone conference in October with Alexis. She was unable to make the call... I was charged in rescheduling her call to a different attorney... I was then charged to explain my whole case over to Neyza Guzman "bringing her up to speed". This attorney took over my case because Alexis left unbeknownst to me. I repeat I WAS CHARGED TO BRING ANOTHER ATTORNEY IN THE SAME FIRM UP TO DATE ON MY CASE. 10.) I received a motion from this law firm as I asked to see EVERYTHING before it was filed to the court. The grammatical errors and incorrect information was astonishing. I had to rewrite the motion for them to be filed. I was also charged for the communication via me editing their work. To date I have spent $8,500 and have absolutely nothing to show for it. I would have spent a million to get my daughter back and we wouldn't be having this conversation but we are. We are because this firm does not deserve to represent anyone. They don't deserve to lie to people who are broken, alone, and desperate. They don't deserve to give false hope in fixing things and completely betraying them behind their back. They deserve to have their licenses taken away and never hurt another soul. These reviews the 1 star reviews are real. The 5 star reviews are bought. Probably with our escrow money. Attorney Felicia Bunburry states that they filed Bankruptcy and I will get a full refund but keep getting brushed off when I contact the FIRM.
