I came to see @babyghoul.tattoo, she's done 90% of the work on my half leg sleeve. Kirsten is incredible her art speaks for itself along with the quality of her work. We started working on this half sleeve in 2023, and finished with these last 2 tattoos. Origin is a great space, it's a very calming space to have needles jabbed into your skin. Thank you Kirsten, thank you Origin! I hope to be back soon. read more

I sent over what I wanted to Brian. He drew it up, changing a few things making it be more personal. The quality of work that I have gotten has been above and beyond anything I could have asked for. Brian was very kind and thoughtful and continued to ask me if I was ok throughout the whole appointment to make sure I was comfortable. The vibe is throughout. The whole shop was very welcoming. I was there for three hours and it didn't seem like it took that much time. I have already spoken to him about my next piece. Brian is definitely amazing and knows his craft. read more

Origin Tattoo owned by Nicholas Black, is a great shop located in Folsom, CA. My girlfriend has been working with Nick to start on a full-sleeve tattoo and then arrived leg piece. But was recently in the shop to get a smaller design, as an appointment opened up on Nick's schedule. When we arrived the shop was just opening up and Nick's happily greeted us, as he finished up setting up his work area. The shop itself has a nice layout and really inviting environment, with the small waterfall up front near the merch area. And the nice scents and decor and the waiting area up front. The array of art pieces and assorted tattoo related books, brings together the unique elements of this shop. The shop is also large enough, to have a setup for 5 artists to work comfortably. Once ready, Nick's took my girlfriends ideas and example images and freehand drew her piece on. Piecing together the elements she wanted while adding his artistic spin to it; even adding an additional piece that he felt complimented her idea. Which added a really nice touch to her overall final piece. read more

I have had two large pieces done by @babyghoul.tattoo (Kirsten B.) and she is wonderful. Her booking process is easy and is outlined on her Instagram page. She's inclusive and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. She listens, is super creative and approachable. I'm so glad I found her and will book more sessions in the future. Origin Tattoo is a clean and professional space. It felt welcoming and safe as well. I can't recommend Kirsten and Origin enough!! read more

At 39 years old, I finally decided to get my first tattoo. I searched everywhere looking for the right artist, and I couldn't have dreamed up a better experience than what I had with Eugene at Origin Tattoo. I was pretty apprehensive at first since I had no idea how the whole process worked and wasn't totally sure about the exact design I wanted. Eugene was patient, kind, and incredibly skilled at helping me shape my ideas into something beautiful. From start to finish, he made me feel comfortable and cared for, and his artistry completely exceeded my expectations. The shop itself is so inviting and calming--it instantly put me at ease and made the whole experience even more special. I am absolutely obsessed with the final piece and feel so honored to be able to showcase the work of such an exceptional human being and artist. I'm beyond thankful to have found Eugene and can't recommend him and Origin Tattoo highly enough! read more

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Jayc! Upon walking in, I was greeted by the relaxing smell of incense and the sounds of their beautiful fountain in the reception area. Already, I felt the good vibes. Jayc took me back and already had a rendered image with the artwork placed on my arm. It was cool to see exactly how it would look on my body, with my existing tattoo! It had been a while since I had been tattooed, so I was a little nervous. Jayc was very thorough in her consultation and made sure to listen to exactly what I wanted, this design came out better than I could've hoped! She made sure that I was doing ok throughout the tattoo, they had chill music playing and they even had snacks and sodas out, just in case clients got hungry. What a nice touch! If you are wanting to get tattooed, I would highly recommend her. This has by far been the best, most comfortable tattoo experience I've ever had. The shop was clean and the view out their back windows is so beautiful! I can't wait to come in for my next piece! read more

I've been getting tattoos from Eugene for years now. My first tattoo from him was at Origin and the experience was amazing. His work is truly beautiful and he's captured my vision every time. The first tattoo I got from him still looks just as good as day one. If you want quality work definitely book with him @kwon_tattoos. The inside of the tattoo studio too is really calming. Whenever I'm in the Sacramento area I'll always choose this shop. read more

Jayc (pronounced Jay-C) gave me my favorite and by far my most beautiful tattoo. Her attention to detail during the process as well as before and after were stellar, as were her overall skills with tattooing. I had an amazing time with her and the vibe of the store itself is so calming and quiet and soothing, with a view of the trees outside it is honestly the best experience I've ever had. I would 100% go back to Jayc and gladly recommend her to all of my friends!!!! read more

LOVE THIS SHOP! I booked with Jayc who was such a pleasure to spend time with and incredibly talented. She is a dynamic artist with not only amazing artistic abilities, but a kind, warm, and welcoming soul. She is extremely accommodating and super understanding. I got a memorial piece for my pet as a way to acquaint myself with the artist before embarking on bigger pieces with her. All I can say is I will be back, without a doubt! I am so happy with the end result and the experience I had being able to get to know the artist more. The shop has a chill vibe with lots to look at, and the shop owner/other artists are very welcoming even without me being one of their clients! I would definitely recommend checking out this studio, Jayc, and the other artists. read more

Today I had the pleasure of having Runso as my artist. I was extremely comfortable giving him creative freedom over the design I wanted and he did not disappoint! I've been wanting a color tattoo for a while and knew he was the man for the job! (He also does black and gray though if you're looking for that) 10/10, highly recommend The shop also felt very calm and peaceful. It smelled like a soft incense, loved all the art up AND it's surrounded by places to eat or grab coffee which is a plus!! read more

This is my favorite tattoo studio of all time! I've only had good interactions with the people here and I always feel at ease the second I walk in. My first (ever) tattoo piece done here was back in 2019. I came for a floral rib piece created by Eric Goodman (@goodmancreates). The experience I had with Eric was incredible. It's probably what convinced me to continue getting tattoos because I absolutely hate needles! I'd highly recommend his work and his vibes. He's a crazy talented artist and loves what he does. When I saw Eugene's (@kwon_tattoos) work popup on social media, I knew I wanted my next piece from him. I came back to the studio last week for a small arm tattoo. Eugene showed me the concept for the tattoo and I was instantly in love! I knew it was going to be so good. During the process, Eugene was so considerate and fun to talk to. He worked quickly and efficiently + kept conversation flowing as I was being tattooed. I love how easily he turned my vision into a lifelong piece that I'll treasure forever! Rates here are also very reasonable, although they do vary based on the artist. It's a privilege to have an art piece completed by these talented folks! Definitely will return in the future and would highly recommend them. read more

I got a tattoo from Austin a couple weeks ago and the guy is an ass to say the least. Origin strives to make a comfortable environment for clients and Austin does not fit that vibe. Austin didn't bother to do a consultation with me to understand my vision, refused to share the design ahead of time and then was unwilling to make changes to the custom design and placement of the tattoo. I felt pressured to accept his art as is even though it was a custom design. After I told him it wasn't what I had envisioned he told me he's the artist and he knows best. I'm at the golden state tattoo convention right now with artists from around the world and they have all said that my experience with Austin is not and should not ever be the norm but Austin made me feel like it was the norm for artists to not accept changes and made me feel like I was being a difficult client. It wasn't cool and isn't a good rep for Origin. When people ask me where I got my tattoo done I tell them not to go to there because it was a shitty experience. Austin is a good artist but if he isn't flexible and he should stick to canvas! read more

A++ and only amazing vibes. I personally go to Nicholas Black for my pieces and will always. My younger siblings are even planning their future tattoos at Origin. All other artists at the shop are fantastic as well and I've had only amazing interactions with. I love seeing Nick, Eric, Eugene and Austin whenever I come in. They're wonderful people to share a sacred space with. It's like visiting family every time. Everyone's work stands for itself and has their own talented and unique style for different tastes/styles. The whole shop is comforting, inviting, warm, original, talented, considerate, welcoming and only great vibes. The shop itself is all those things too. It's truly such a beautiful experience from start to finish. My only advice is come with only good vibes as well and give trust to whichever artist your style in lines with! read more

Origin tattoo deserves every star. The shop itself is beautiful, safe, inspiring and most of all exceptionally clean. He makes me feel as comfortable as you could be while getting tattooed. I came to Origin art gallery following Eric, one of the 2 founding artists. He had tattooed me in the past, and I had chosen to come back for an array of reasons. I've been tattooed quite a bit and have searched around for what some would consider "high end" work. I've been tattooed by people that some would consider the best in the geometric and dot work world... and Eric surpassed these other artists by a long shot. He's extremely efficient with his time, and works ahead on your artwork. Which is something I've come to find is difficult with other artists. He's ready as soon as you show up and doesn't take a bunch of breaks unless you need it. He's very thorough with his stencil placement and thinks through your future artwork to plan ahead. Once I met Nick, it's just been an added bonus. Genuinely nice people interested in bringing the best experience to you. Nick will be working on me in the future as well! Cheers read more

Horrible!!! I gave them the benefit of the doubt but the tattoo artist cody has the worst attitude ever!!! Made me feel like I was inconveniencing him, I thought that was his job. I'll never go back, and I definitely will be telling my friends and family about this experience. read more

I love my tattoo and think the vibes and everything of the studio are great!! However it was not communicated properly to me that there would be a $150 "drawing fee" on top of the cost of the tattoo?? I just wish that was way more clear and I would've liked my artist to go over that with me. I vaguely remember seeing it on the consultation form in small print when I booked back in august but I have never even heard of an artist doing a "drawing fee", so I assumed it would be taken out of the final cost like a normal deposit. On top of that I was not able to see my design until my appointment. Just feeling a bit disappointed with the communication. I have had a tattoo done by that artist before too, but I am unsure if every artist here does that same drawing fee read more

I recently got a tattoo by Eugene, and I could not be happier with my experience. I found Eugene on instagram and provided him with my concept and some inspiration/reference photos. Based on his portfolio, I knew I could trust his artistic vision to bring my idea to life and he absolutely knocked it out of the park. In addition to his artistry, professionalism, and talent, the vibe of the shop was one of the best I have experienced. And to top it all off, the price was just right. I am ecstatic to have a piece of Eugene's art on me and I look forward to coming back and getting another piece done soon. read more

Origin Art Gallery is HANDS DOWN the BEST tattoo shop I have ever been to. When you first walk in, you're greeted warmly by Nick and his fellow artists. The vibe of the whole shop is absolutely incredible. It's nothing like your typical shop. Art is displayed on walls throughout, incense are burning leaving you pleasantly calm, there are comfy couches in the waiting area, and each tattoo station has a giant window looking out into a gorgeous wooded area. When getting my chest piece tattooed by Nick, I felt 100% comfortable. He takes client comfort to the next level. Nick put down a heating pad on the tattoo chair to ensure I would not get cold, he uses a warmer for the solution used to wipe away excess ink during the tattoo so that you're not shocked with the cold liquid, and he is extremely communicative throughout the tattoo process. Each artist carefully crafts their unique pieces and show tremendous amounts of pride when they are finished. I will happily be returning to Origin Art Gallery! Thank you Nick! read more

I couldn't have picked a better artist, Nick, and his new shop Origin! He is a true artist in every sense of the word. From the first time we met he was excited about my idea and gave me some of his own ideas in return. Being my my first tattoo I wasn't sure what to expect from the whole process and although I had to be patient in getting in to see him it was worth every minute of waiting. I trusted him to do his thing and he exceeded every expectation I had. Not only a great artist but a super cool guy along with the rest of the guys at the shop were easy to hang out and spend the day with getting tattooed.
