I had taken the day off and drove from Barstow to Victorville specifically for this appointment. When I arrived for the new 4:00 PM time, she was still working on the previous client. At 4:21 PM, I was told she would call/text me when I could come inside, so I waited in my car. By 5:07 PM, I still hadn't been called in. At that point, it had been over an hour since the rescheduled time and more than three hours since my original appointment. I texted that I couldn't wait any longer and requested my $54 deposit back. She called me at 5:08 PM saying she had just finished and I could either come inside or receive a refund. I chose the refund because I had already waited long enough. To her credit, she was understanding and canceled the appointment through StyleSeat. I understand appointments can run behind, but this was excessive. I had already accommodated a two-hour delay, drove from Barstow, and then waited another hour after the rescheduled time. For a $180 service, I expected better scheduling and communication. I can't speak on the quality of her work because I never received the service. This review is strictly about the scheduling and overall experience. I appreciate that I was given the option of a refund, but losing several hours of my day after making the drive was very disappointing.

I made an appointment the day before for 12:15pm. I got there the next day 10 minutes early and wasn't even acknowledged by the hairstylist (Kaytlyn). I sat down and observed the haircut she was performing. As she was cutting hair, she took multiple personal phone calls, which in my opinion was very unprofessional. Not to mention her foul mouth and attitude toward those she was talking about. Finally at 12;45 I asked Tori if she had any openings for a bang trim because I recognized a Dad and His two sons had an appointment at 12:30 and I did not want to keep them waiting longer than had. Tori told me that she did not have openings and once again restated that I had such thick hair, bangs would look like a mullet on me. It's really not that thick at all. Kaytlyn overheard our conversation and asked what I was saying. After she was told that I had a bang trim at 12:15 and reminded that it was nearly 1:00, she turned to me and told me that she has three haircuts ahead of me after the fade she was already working on. When I asked what time the haircuts were scheduled for, she told me "12:30 but they are a walk in" I then said "oh okay, well mine was at 12:15." The Dad then started that his appointment was scheduled ahead of time and was after me. Kaytlyn ignored him and told me that she was going to finish the haircut she was doing and then start on the boys and then get to me. Are you serious?! She proceeded to tell me that I can stay and wait or go get lunch or Starbucks and then come back for my cut when she was ready. By now it was past 1pm and I did not have any desire to get my haircut when it worked for her. it was $15 trim and she pushed me aside to get to the customers who were paying more. The appointment was booked by Amy Gray for a haircut & wash with Valerie Cutro (no blowout/no styling) for October 7, 2026, at 1 PM. When I arrived at 12:56 PM, I wasn't greeted with a hello but instead was bluntly asked, "Do you have an appointment?" I confirmed that I had an appointment with Valerie Cutro, & moving forward everything went downhill from there. Valerie was okay at conversation but not at listening to my requests for the haircut I wanted. It seemed as though she already had her own "haircut" in mind. When I explained to her that my phone didn't have signal inside the salon & that I was having a hard time loading the video I had as a reference for the haircut, she didn't seem concerned & appeared to want to rush the experience entirely. After the video I wanted to show her wouldn't load, I remembered that I had screen-recorded it in case this issue came up. I showed her the video, & she still seemed to be in a rush nonetheless. When I saw my hair in the salon, I definitely noticed just how much she had cut off, but I still paid & walked out with my head held high, not realizing just how horrible the quality of the cut actually was. If I had noticed at the time I wouldn't have paid; that is definite. Keep in mind, the website they have linked for booking appointments lists a haircut & blow-dry with Valerie at $75. I only received a haircut & was still charged the full $75. Regardless, my hair looks nothing like the video I showed her or what I had communicated that I wanted. When I got home, my family & friends all told me that I shouldn't have paid the hairdresser. The cut is uneven, choppy, sloppy, & simply not what I asked for. My dad even asked if my hairdresser was drunk. My mom was extremely upset, & my friends suggested that they should have a word with Valerie, but instead, I'll leave this review. I've been to this salon in the past & had a wonderful experience with Vianey Lara over a year ago. I would have booked with her again, but she wasn't available on the website this month, so I decided to take a chance on a new hairstylist. That was my mistake. Peroxide Hair Salon can partially fix this issue by issuing a refund & speaking with their hair stylist.
