The one feedback I have is I would have preferred the exfoliating and massage part to be a little over a minute at least, it was very briefly done. I have been going to organic at 496 Queen St West for 7, almost 8 years now and I've never been unhappy with a manicure I've received there. I always go to Moon who is not only quick but incredibly efficient. She always knows when I can get away with a refill and when I need a fresh set. I started out getting the dip manicures and I did love it for a while but for some reason my nails just stopped taking to that service. We made the decision to switch to biogel and that is exactly what my nails needed. I love my sessions with Moon. She is so lovely and friendly and knowledgeable and helps me decide what to get like 9/10 times. I work in childcare so I use my hands A LOT and am constantly washing them. I'm also unfortunately not very careful and usually can't get in until about a month after my last visit. Moon always helps me pick the style that will wear the longest on me. Always happy. Will never leave. I am sure everyone there is talented and I would trust anyone to be honest. There's a guy who works there whose name is "B" who has fixed my nails if one breaks in that 10 day grace period they give you. And my mother used to go to Pink who is also very talented and is always busy as well. Calling ahead is better than walking in or booking online if you want to see a specific nail tech. Great vibes. I like to go early if I can and get the first appointment when it's usually nice and quiet. read more

0/10 experience. They accused me of having bio gel on and upcharged me for the removal. I've never gotten bio gel in my life as I used to work at a spa for years that exclusively did shellac. Extremely poor removal process and my nails are now ultra sensitive. They also use extremely cheap, low quality polishes. I will never return. read more

Came here for a nail date with my cousin and she opted for shellac nails and a pedi while I opted to try dip nails for the first time. It took a while.. as in, she was nearly done both feet and hands by the time I was done with the dip. But, no UV lamp required and it dried in two minutes! It was sort of insane watching the process, but I absolutely adore the colour I chose (NotPolish - Bling Bling). It looked a lot darker on the nail at first but by the time I'm out the door, it was a peachy, glittery hue. It's just a bit thick so definitely not quite "natural". The girl doing my nails was really nice. Not overly talkative, but she was friendly and answered my questions. She let me take my time choosing a colour and gave me some options based on what she saw that I liked. Great service. And she fixed up my cuticles so gently. First time ever that I didn't bleed or cringe. They did okay with keeping social distancing during COVID, but I think some people were still too close together.. especially in the pedicure chairs. The clients were side by side. I think they should have someone more "friendly" and "welcoming" at the front desk though. They weren't rude, but they were short and it was like...they just wanted you to move along. Not very welcoming. That was the only iffy thing, and unfortunately, that's the start of your experience... Solid salon though. The girls are really nice and they really care to do a good job. read more

Visited this nail spa recently and had an amazing experience. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. I had extremely short nails going in and my nail technician, Kieu, was great and very knowledgeable with nail shapes. She was able to make my fingers look long and thin and file the extensions quickly and smoothly. She even added the little cat to make the experience extra special. Thanks Kieu and organic nail spa! I would've given this place a 3.5/4 star rating if it weren't for my last experience there. I've been here a few times. First 2 or 3 times was to do extensions with dipped nails. Service was good but dipped nails take a little longer compared to shellac nails. I also found it's a little less natural looking because of the thickness of the dipped polish. The last time I came was to do a manicure with regular polish since I wanted to give my nails a break from extensions. The girl who was my nail technician looked really young and new. She was pretty rude because she would check on her phone twice every minute it seemed and even paused our session to reply back to a text message. I find that really unprofessional and pretty disrespectful. I am paying for her service but it didn't seem like she cared about giving good service. She rushed through my cuticle job and even rushed on the polish job. She did not even seal the bottom of the nails to help it last longer. The next day I noticed about 6/10 nails were already chipped, some way more chipped than the others. I called and made an appointment to get it fixed. Get this.... They gave me the same girl!!! Why would they do that? So she can fix her mistake and do a better job? It already was bad when she sat me down at a dirty table that had nail filings all over it. She also rushed through the polish job and only removed the polish on the really obvious chipped nails. This time only 3 or 4 chipped after a day or two. After that experience I decided to paint my own nails or go to better nails salon. At least when I paint my own nails they last a good 4-5 days before chipping and I save some money. They have reached out to me to go back to them for better service but no thanks, I'll try a different location or a different nail salon but I will not waste more money on poor and rude service. read more

I have been meaning to write this for awhile but as a generally non confrontational person I was ready to let it go. The place is in my building so I wanted to make it work. They cut corners and charge exorbitant prices. Today was different. A $70 pedicure and the cuticles were a mess. Still ingrown toe nails and the base layer of shellac missed by the nail tech?! None of that is normal. All of the staff are young kids sitting with very little experience. The owners are the problem as they are ripping people off in our neighbourhood by giving below standard services for near double the price. Have you ever heard of shellac that crumbles lol or fake OPI polish? As a beauty and events professional for over 20 years I know what quality looks like. When I politely asked for the cuticles to be trimmed the 'owner' went on a yelling tangent!?! Honestly it was really embarrassing and uncomfortable for everyone in the salon. I don't usually make personal comments but I believe she could benefit from some emotional regulation. It was WHACK. Don't go here. There is Sparks Salon across the street and Sixth Sense slightly east on King. Both are lovely and don't get mad when you ask for basic things like trimmed cuticles lol. This place should be shut down. They are an embarrassment to the area. We work hard. We don't want to spend money on poorly done nails to support your massive renovation. DON'T GO HERE. Went here for the first time for dip nail polish. The staff were friendly and served me right at my appointment start time. It was $40 for the manicure, one of the cheaper dip manicure places I've been able to find downtown. They have an amazing selection of colours and can do ombré and tips. Worst experience ever - simply put, do not go near this place. I specifically made a yelp account just to write a review. I've never written a review before, but felt like I had to for this one. This is a review on their paraffin hand treatment + regular manicure for my sister and I. The paraffin treatment was fine (as in it didnt end up destroying my hands), but the regular mani destroyed my cuticles and left my nails extremely smudged with 11 layers of product in total. My lady didn't bother protecting/moisturizing my nails and hands during the entire procedure, so my cuticles were left extremely dry and flaky even when I left. This means about 3 full swipes of cotton rounds soaked with alcohol all over each nail, and flaky cuticles being ripped off leaving open wounds (she would wipe the blood off with more alcohol-soaked rounds). It's been 3 days and my cuticles are still INFLAMED from the procedure. I specifically wanted to purchase a hand massage, which they didn't have on their menu. They said the paraffin should be fine since a hand massage is included in the regular mani (which I never got). After the paraffin treatment and the manicure, I reminded them of the hand massage. My lady seemed upset and reluctantly started spreading lotion all over my hands, which ended up destroying what must have been my 8th coat of product on each nail (including 3 layers of top coat). Prior to this, I already had 8 layers sitting on each nail either because she smudged the previously applied coat with her own hands (she kept pressing my nails to see if they were dry, which they weren't, so she kept reapplying new coats and repeated the smudging), OR she would move the towel underneath to see if my hands were dry (which they weren't) and it would create a fluff mark on my nails. She attempted to fix this with a fresh new coat + top coat, which got ruined when she pressed on them again to see if they were dry. The entire drying process alone took 45 minutes, during which cold air was shot down at my already crisp-dry hands. I knew I would immediately get everything off my hands once I got home, so the polish not being dry wasnt really a problem. I wasn't expecting them to dry after my 5th layer. During the 45 minutes under the freezing hand dryer, my lady got increasingly frustrated that my nails weren't drying (even though she was the one continuously ruining them) and started outright ignoring my requests to let me and my sister leave after paying. She also yelled at the lady tending to my sister, and started ruining my sister's nails too the same way she did mine by pressing them to make sure her nails were dry (which they weren't), and applied several coats after smudging them several times. The list never ends! When I was paying I noticed my sister and I got charged 10 more dollars than we should have.They insisted that we asked for the organic manicure ($5 more expensive than the regular mani). We specifically had asked for, and confirmed the prices of paraffin + regular mani prior to the whole 2.5 hr getup. So I told them there's no way they forgot about this discussion and that I refuse to pay the extra 10. The lady was shouting some things in her language but she gave me a new bill with the right price. read more

So disappointed with my last visit. I booked a shellac pedicure and my technician was on her phone the entire time. She gave me maybe a 20 second massage while texting, would frequently stop to watch videos, and would just leave to go show other technicians whatever she was looking at on her phone. Unfortunately my experience here was quite negative. I am a big fan of the other locations and frequent them. This one happens to be closer to my apartment so i decided to give it a try. I usually do dip with extension and absolutely love it. First of all, I was having trouble picking the color and asked for a recommendation for a shade I wanted. It wasn't on the little sample nail things so I'm not sure why I wasn't given all the colors to see-- she pulled one out and showed me it on that nail model thing so quickly- it seemed okay so i said fine. it ended up being a totally different color than i expected and i'm not sure why she showed me that one-- maybe just to get the process moving. anyway, i hate this color and hate that i have to stare at it everyday- dip lasts long on me so it's a blessing and a curse. This time I did dip on my natural nails- they're not super long but not short either. The girl filed them down so, so much they look pretty weird now. I asked for them not to be cut so instead they were filed away til they were nonexistent? Secondly, the dip looks really thick which I usually do not find an issue. Maybe they make it thicker on natural nails than extensions, but they look and feel soo gross and thick. Finally, she did have some attention to detail, however, she ended up leaving soo much crap on my cuticles.. like from the base coat. my nails were surrounded with this sticky stuff I couldn't get off of them. It felt almost glue like. What annoyed me most is that she clearly saw it, tried to peel it away- when it didn't come off instantly, she just moved on and hoped I wouldn't notice. Also so much gunk left under my nails from all the buffing and filing. Also, she cut my cuticles pretty bad and they stung throughout the whole manicure. Just not the most pleasant experience for a $48 (with tip) mani. Not the absolute worst nightmare that I've experienced in the past, but not the 5 star experience I'm used to at the other location i go to. read more

So pleased with my first time visit here. I went to get biogel removed and put dip powder on my nails. I prefer dip over biogel as it's easier to remove and looks more natural on my nails. The nail tech was very gentle when removing the biogel and she didn't drill down my natural nail too much. Mind you, I did mention to her to be careful as my nails are very thin. She listened to my requests and did everything to make me as happy as possible. I love my nails! I think Tracey did my nails? Unsure of her name as I forget now. I made an appointment this morning that was confirmed online and when I arrived, they had no space and no one had called me to let me know. This in an INSANE practice. DO. NOT. GO. I got a dip manicure with extensions. The dip was VERY thick. It looked gloopy and clumsy. I've had dip powder done before and know it's always thick but not like this. I paid and left a good tip but on the way home I really didn't like it and stopped in to 3 different salons (including the same franchise at a nearby location) and all agreed it was not well done. I emailed the Organic salon I went to, told them about the problem and proposed a few solutions. I explained it was my birthday and wanted to fix the issue the same day. I suggested I get a refund in full but that I would pay for removal ($10) and re-doing my nails with shellac instead (starts at $55). They said NO. I suggested I get no refund and instead get the removal and shellac free. They said NO. They were completely inflexible. They wouldn't even simply give me the $10 removal for free. After yelling at me that the nails were done well and she would know because she trains the nail technicians, the owner eventually agreed to a free removal but no refund. The removal was free on the condition that I would be barred from all locations in the future. I said sure! They did a terrible job on the removal, splashed some cuticle oil on my fingers (not nails) when I asked for some, then told me to leave. While the removal was taking place, they brought out cake and flowers for their receptionist's birthday, sang to her, and ate the cake in the salon. Went to this place for the first time with a friend and we were rushed throughout the process - I wasn't even given time to choose a colour while the aesthetician started working on my nails and then I had to quickly decide on one. My shellac manicure was done poorly, my cuticles weren't cleaned and cut.. she rushed through it all and then applied the gel colour in a way where it bubbled and the surface wasn't even. When I told her about she insisted it was because my nails were lop-sided and not the application! I had to ask her to remove it which caused my nail enamel to get really eroded and I had to decide to not get colour again because of the damage to the nails.. the UV burns on thin nails. Instead of apologizing, I got into an argument with the owner on what should be paid... I don't mind paying but to be told to do it without an apology or bad service - it was a bad experience and won't recommend this place read more
