Today we went on the 1.5hr standard tour thinking that would be a long tour. We were wrong, next time we will choose the 2.5hr tour. Angela was our guide and a wealth of information. The tour van was clean, comfortable, and they had water available. Things to Note: *The ride is on winding and dirt roads. It was a blast for me, but if you get car sick or don't enjoy a few small bounces... It would not be for someone with issues of balance. *Early morning is best of heat could be an issue for you. We went on the 8:45am tour, it was great. We worn jackets in the morning then took the them off in the later part of the tour. I highly recommend the longer tour. We felt we would have liked more time among each field and to visit more. * Angela brought up a great point. It's good to plan to go on more than one tour as different flowers bloom at different times. Lastly we were so happy to hear about the process of seed farming from the soil to the seed cleaners. It's a wonder farmers can even stay in business due to insurance and wage costs. Could you imagine having to pay people $25+ an hour just to pull weeds? I hope this family keeps the tours going and I want to take all our friends and family. * Don't be like me, read the rules and wear close toed shoes :) One of my favorite moments was when Angela shared the prepared examples of seeds before and after cleaning.

We ordered 1.5 yards of river rock to top off some landscape at our rental and unfortunately there was an error based on the size of rock. We called and were lucky enough to get Tanner on the phone. After some phone calls and photo exchange, Tanner offered to load up his truck with an additional yard of stone and deliver is 30 minutes later. He arrived solo and helped unload our rock by hand with a shovel Talk about exceptional service. He was kind, helpful and obviously an exceptionally hard worker. She could've been short with me because I was asking really basic questions, but instead, she answered my questions (with care) and told me I could also go to their website, as well, to estimate how much soil/dirt I would need for our yard projects. She also mentioned the best technique to use to measure our flower beds and use the website's calculating tool. I really appreciated her kindness and helpfulness! She even lamented being short staffed this weekend and apologizing they were a week out to be able to deliver product to our home! Once again, she did not make me feel rushed as I spoke to her, even though she mentioned they were shorthanded this weekend!. I got the basic information I needed very quickly and was off the phone in less time than I expected. I'm certain I will do business with McFarlane's when I order "product", because not only are they close to where I live, but they were incredibly nice and helpful on the phone. I am so glad I did. They delivered what I ordered exactly when promised. But that's not where the service stopped. After three weeks of consistent watering and my first mow, I was pleased with 98% of our new lawn. It looks GREAT. But there were some spots where some pieces of sod didn't grow in well. They were slightly muddy and bare. I thought I would just throw a Hail Mary and reach out to Steve at WT and see if there was anything they could do to help. After reviewing some photos I sent him, he suggested seeding those areas vs pulling up the sod and laying new pieces. He said that would be the most effective way to fix. I didn't expect that he would arrange for 20 pounds of seed to be delivered to me with fertilizer also. And they did that just to make things right. I was extremely pleasantly surprised. When the delivery came the next day, Sam showed up and was willing to answer my very elementary questions and gave me all the pointers I needed. He even walked the entire 2000 sf lawn with me and reseeded the areas that needed it. I will always speak extremely highly of my experience with WT whenever someone asks me about our new lawn.
