Welp, it's been almost a year and due to raccoons and super uneven, lumpy rolls of sod teeming with thatch, I have dead spots all over. That's fine, I can repair. What's not fine is if your lawn doesn't go perfectly as planned, many will not, the netting will be all over the place. I was told this netting was biodegradable and it goes away in a couple years. No, no it will not. This is just a bunch of plastic, it will absolutely not degrade, it is an industry standard. I now know why sod lawns are the dumbest investment for a home owner and are so universally despised by environmentalists. The people running this industry have no concern for the natural world. Moreover, it now makes sense why absolutely zero dumps take sod. I am stuck with it. This practice is abhorrent and should be illegal. read more

I attempted to purchase sod from this company. When I called to place the order, I was asked for my address. When I gave it, I was told that they will not deliver to me because according to their information (some map, I assume?) our road is a "Forest Trail". I understand that as a company you want to make sure that your trucks can get in and back out. But when a potential customer tells you that the road you call a "Forest Trail" is actually a 12 foot wide, gravelled and maintained COUNTY ROAD and that our driveway is 20 feet wide, you should maybe look a little further into it? We have trucks of many sizes, dump trucks, chip trucks, etc. that get into and out of our property without any issue. I think they just don't want to come to our place because it's farther than they want to go and had already quoted a delivery price. Customer Service is a big ZERO. By the way, Anderson Family Farms in Canby is delivering sod to me on Friday for less than this company. read more

We ordered sod for front and back yards a year ago, and found the office staff, and onsite consult staff very knowledgable. BUT, the plastic netting they use under the sod was described to us as bio-degradable. It most certainly is not. It is 1" plastic mesh that is a complete mess when it is exposed at the edge of the lawns. After fighting with this stuff so that it won't get caught in the mower blades, or my fingers, yesterday I found a robin caught in it. That was the last straw. They need to change this product, and become more environmentally responsible. And, in the meantime, be honest about the real materials. For this reason alone, they did not get a full five-star rating. read more

I'm giving an extra star because the sod we bought was good quality. If I was going to base the rating solely on the sod, it would be much higher than a two star. However, because of their poor customer service, I'm giving them a lower rating. I called about a week in advance to inquire about getting sod. Based on the size of my order, they said they would deliver to my house for free and to call two days in advance to set it up. When I did call two days in advance, they told me they were unable to deliver the sod due to being too busy. I understand how this could happen, and if this was the only problem, it would not have been a big deal. Because our landscaping project was set to happen on a certain date, 2 friends/family helped me out and drove the 40 minutes each way to pick up the sod. Oregon Turf loaded the sod into our trucks. When we got home and unloaded the sod, we noticed that one of the trucks had parts of the truck bed ripped up from when the forklift put the sod in. I immediately called and was asked to send pictures, which I did. I was told that the manager would review the issue. 11 days later I still hadn't heard anything, so I emailed again. Two days later I got a call from the manager saying they could do nothing for me and that we are responsible for our truck even though they damaged it. He mentioned it would have been better if we had plywood in the bottom of the truck bed, which is true. I mentioned that this was our first time getting sod and that we are not the experts in how it is loaded, they are, and why didn't they suggest that previous to scraping up the bed of the truck? We would have been happy to comply. So all in all, we paid over $500 for sod, didn't get the included free delivery, had to have three people take off from work and drive 1 hr and twenty minutes to get it, and then had to pay an additional $80 to buy replacement parts for the truck bed after their forklift damaged it. However, even though the customer service was slow and the results not to my liking, everyone I was in communication with was very courteous and professional. I still would not be able to recommend doing business with them based on their customer service. read more

I had the tall fescue blend sod installed in my front yard last year and have been very impressed so I installed the same in my backyard this year. The yards look great and I'm very happy with the results. They are very good to work with. You can't get this type of service or quality from the Big Box Stores. read more

Oregon Turf has the best sod and customer service out of all the sod companies I have been to. I have installed several lawns with their sod and never have been disappointed. They will deliver right to your house and their drivers offer great advice. Would highly recommend! read more
