In other words, I'm just your average 30 something mom who has not made herself a top priority and has gotten a little "soft". I have tried CrossFit twice before but didn't have a good experience so I didn't last long. I felt intimidated by the moves, the cliques within the gym, and the pressure to always be increasing weight when I knew I needed to focus more on form. For some reason, I decided to give it one more go because, well, it was time to do something for me. I heard about CF Steelhead and wanted to give it a shot because a) I had heard really great things about the owners/trainers, 2) it was close to my house, and c) I finally admitted that I need motivation to work out. It's now been two weeks and I finally feel that passion (albeit not the culty obsession) about CrossFit. I credit it entirely to Laura and Ty who have been so welcoming, friendly, and inspiring. You can tell how dedicated not only to their new business venture, but to their customers who they obviously care about. This morning I could barely lift my arms to take my shirt off after my work out, but it is a surprisingly good feeling. I look forward to taking a peek at the website every night to see what the workout is going to be the following morning and don't get discouraged when I see that there will be elements like push ups, pull ups, and double unders because even though I suck at them now, I finally feel confident that I will one day master them. Perhaps one day I will even be one of those dorks who is constantly posting pictures of themselves of Facebook doing 150 lb. over head squats. Andrew just got his black belt through Eddie Bravo, every class but the women's class is taught by him. He competes often at a high level and wins using technique he shows in class. Andrew has coached me at every tournament I have competed in and has been super present in building my game from zero experience to purple belt. The mats are cleaned well consistently. I have never gotten ringworm or staph from training here. The people here are good at making sure no-one walks barefoot off the mats and that people cut their nails. There's classes three times a day Monday - Friday for a variety of levels. The fundamentals at six has no live rolling and is easy to dip into but can be a good workout if you drill hard. The atmosphere is relaxed, unless we are doing comp specific training on Thursdays for advanced class. I've seen a lot of people lose fat training, even beginners just doing advanced. 10th planer grants pass is hands down the best jiu jitsu in the Rogue Valley.

He also regularly drops the f bomb with children there. Just something to think about if you think about enrolling your child.

We tried a community wrestling team the year before and our son wanted nothing to do with it. Gave it a half season but eventually pulled him out because of his lack of interest. A few months back I was seeing FB adds for a free introductory session at Grappletown. We signed our son up and after his first visit, he was adamant about coming back for more. A few months in at 2 days a week and he's still full speed ahead enjoying every class. Coach Matt, Coach Kale, and others have been very patient with the kids as they all progress and focus at different levels. We like Grappletown so much that even I've decided to join in while exploring a newfound motivation to enter into a fitness journey. After a back injury has kept me from being as active as I've been most my life, I've finally healed up enough to explore these opportunities.
