Vacuum repair has become a lost art thanks to cheap disposable vacs like Dyson, Shark, and Bissell.
After losing the Aerus/Electrolux store a few years ago and, more recently, the Hall's vacuum store, I'm glad to see that we still have at least one vac shop in Fredericksburg that appears to be doing well. This store actually moved from their former location in Central Park to their current location, in the same strip mall and suite where Hall's Vacuum used to be. This is an Oreck store but they're also an authorized Miele dealer, and they sell parts and supplies for numerous other brands as well. Do yourself a favor and buy a Miele or Oreck from them. Many people may scoff at the idea of going back to bags, but trust me, bags are so much easier and cleaner than dumping out containers full of the dirt you just picked up. Or, if you already have a good vacuum that's seen better days, they also offer repair services.
If I had to find an issue with them it would be that many parts need to be ordered, but I can't expect them to always have a supply of parts for the obscure vacs I come across on hand. I could just order those parts online myself, but I'd rather order from them to support a locally owned store and to have their support to back up any items I purchase. It's much easier to get your vacuum fixed when you buy it from a local store that's also able to service it, unlike Walmart or Target. They do have a good variety of basic supplies in store though, even parts for less common machines like Filter Queen filter cones. Whenever I'm looking for a part that they don't have in stock, they always do their best to locate the part online and order it for me. I'd also like to see them become a Tacony/Riccar/Simplicity/etc. dealer like Hall's was as well, but overall, I'd recommend this store to anyone looking for a good vacuum cleaner. You won't find a better place to buy a vacuum cleaner from anywhere near Fredericksburg. read more
