He mentioned a vast array of sub contractors below that will perform the work. The problem is that he does not pay the sub contractors.

There was some confusion on their part to purge the tank with liquid propane, then they filled it - a forty pound (nine gallon) tank with 11 and a half gallons. (We see this often in Mexico filling stations that are not regulated for weights and measures.) When we hooked it up at home the regulator froze immediately. We swapped the new tank out with an older one several times and the new tank consistently caused the regulator to freeze and the old one did not. The reason was water in the propane. We took the tank back to ER Energy and explained what had happened. Their position was it came with water in the tank from the manufacturer - which is what the purge is meant to correct! They did not have any way to remove the water and could only recommend venting the propane out to the atmosphere after which they would fill it up again, charging us for the newer propane as well. Other than that they offered no assistance. Not at all satisfactory... An internet search showed us the correct way to purge a new propane tank is to fill it with vapor from a separate (not supply) tank, vent that, and repeat three more times. Liquid propane combines with the water and makes it very difficult to remove, the vapor pushes it out. An alternative remedy is to introduce a small amount of methanol into the propane, which ER Energy could not do either. Propane cost is quite reasonable but do not let them attempt to purge your new tank. We are now stuck with a rather vexing problem.

He was nice and came out the same day as the request for an estimate. The contract was signed shortly after. He even worked w my insurance to provide the right verbiage on the contract, which was appreciated. It has really been a mess since. The work was initially planned to start in "two weeks tops". A week before the "start" date, we provided close to a 30% deposit, as requested. I didn't realize there is a state limit to what a contractor should request (10%) before starting work, so putting out that much money initially was my mistake. The work was going to start the following week, so no big deal right? Huge problem... When no one showed up to start work, I assumed they got behind. We live quite far from the business location. I reached out at the end of April, early May, end of May, and each time was told it would be another 2-3 weeks before they could come out. I reach out the end of June, and at that time, he was unable to give us a start date. I finally gave him the option to pick a start date, cut the project down to a more manageable size, or just cancel the contract and return the deposit. He took the latter option. Well, it's been months now since we cancelled the contract, and he still owes 30% of the deposit we put down. We are well past the 10 day window for a contractor to return the deposit... with lots of excuses for the delay. Now, he is no longer replying to my attempts to reach out. Although I am unable to provide feedback on the actual work he provides, with everything we have gone through the last half a year, I feel this 1 star review is absolutely warranted.

Further, and this is the worst part, he collected a bunch of insurance money after damaging our house, and then cut off communication. He is a scammer with no ethical character, and I hope that no one else has to go through the pain that I have by working with him. If you do work with him, have a lawyer look at everything. It's so sad that people like this exist in the world.

Gary's cabinets We…read morelost our home in the Tubbs Fire and we're referred to Gary's cabinets by a good friend. Ernie (owner) started by meeting with us at his shop to go through "Cabinets 101." Although I had worked building cabinets for many years, I learned quite a bit from his presentation. Ernie asks pertinent questions on almost all aspects of the things people are looking for. His queries streamlined the process and helped guide our decisions. I think he goes through the process as much to help himself as to help his clients. No surprises make for a happy customer. They did our kitchen, utility/laundry room, pantry, 3 bathrooms, and a hall linen cabinet. There were some areas we had to work through, but when all is said and done, we are very satisfied. The cabinets are exactly what we wanted and the install is great. They finished up the job by doing a final run through making sure everything was in order. Their installer Shane is a wizard when it comes to installing and finishing. I recommend and would use them again.

Starting with Ernie's initial visit to our house, we knew we were in exceptionally good hands on a project that included full remodels of our kitchen and bathrooms. He spent quite a long time measuring our unusual layout and offering ideas and options based on our real-world use of the spaces, then continued to hear us out and adapt the particulars as he laid out our custom design. The quote was extremely reasonable, especially given the amount of cabinetry and additional panels involved, and Ernie repeatedly adapted to our evolving choices. And the work itself was all drop-dead gorgeous: perfect fits in our very imperfect, uneven old house, with precise lines, a solid feeling of quality, and beautiful finishes and woodgrain matches. Ernie's stated priority is to deliver a product that truly works for his clients and the way they live, and that's exactly what he did for us. As a result, we now have a stunning chef's kitchen that accommodates all our own idiosyncrasies and eccentricities, and bathrooms with "floating" vanities that visually and practically define those remodeled rooms and give us joy every day. I should note that our great experience with Gary's Cabinets followed two false starts with other companies, one with a big box home store and the other with a renowned local kitchen and bath remodeling specialist. The first would have provided us with standardized cookie-cutter cabinets that would never have fit quite right or worked quite right for us. The second would have used higher-quality but still mass-produced cabinets and a design that was more about the contractor's tastes and preferences than ours. By working with Ernie, we instead ended up with surprisingly affordable custom cabinets and storage solutions that anticipate needs we initially hadn't even identified. I cannot recommend these folks more highly, and would never consider anyone else for any future cabinetry work we might do.
