Sashimi bowl was overly flavored: you had to scrape off the sauces and sesame to get to the fish flavor. The fish was nice, but the menu lied: there was no eel in the bowl. There was a lot of lettuce, however. Speaking of lies, the waiter absolutely refused to honor Yelp's free Prosecco with checkin offer. In many cities, this place would be a disaster, but I grade sushi in Berlin on a curve, since this isn't the town for that cuisine, and I did appreciate the atmosphere of Zen, despite some of the shortcomings of food and service.

I came in on a Sunday evening after three friends ran the marathon so we were certainly hungry! Two friends started with the gin and tonic and myself and the other split a bottle of white. For starters we all shared the Prince Tunatic Roll, Steamed Royals Bao Dumpling and the Summer Rolls. The sushi menu wasn't too extensive as anticipated, but the tuna roll was so yummy it didn't matter. Two of us had the beef pho which was the perfect cozy meal that evening - order the large as the smaller size is a tiny bowl, the server informed us. Our other friends had the beef noodle bowl and the pork belly bowl - both looked excellent! It's been a couple of weeks and I am still listing this as one of my best dining experiences in Berlin! I had no issue paying our bill with a card so it's incredibly unfortunate to see the payment system ruined the dining experience for many Yelpers! The salmon avocado and tuna rolls were pretty good, although standard. The fish was fresh and the ratio of fish to fish was good. The crispy yellow roll, one of Dudu's special rolls, was just okay. The roll itself was deep fried and contained avocado and cucumber. Separate from the roll was diced spicy tuna that you were supposed to eat with the roll. If I knew it would came like this, I don't think I would have ordered it. I was over the actual roll pretty quickly, but really enjoyed the spicy tuna. I also tried some of C's "rice for kids", which was a small bowl of soup rice with chicken on top. He quickly ate all the chicken, but left most of the rice. Again, didn't know the rice would be rice mixed in a broth. You could tell the broth had ginger in it as the taste was pretty prominent. The sashimi was great quality, and most importantly, fresh, and the rolls were very flavorful and nicely wrapped. The only roll I couldn't have cared less for was the cucumber roll--but then again, who ever likes the cucumber roll...The presentation was great, and to be totally honest, I'm not quite sure if it was the company or the food, but the dining experience overall was absolutely solid. I only wish that I remembered what rolls exactly came with our platter, or how much exactly we each had to fork up, but I guess that's indication of a great dining experience, is it not?
