This wasn't my first time here. I've come several times before and loved my experience. However this visit was the worst this time around. At first, I thought Paula did a great job overall, but for some reason, she clipped the toenail next to my pinky as if I had an ingrown nail--which I didn't. She cut too much, and it was painful the moment she clipped it. I tried to ignore the discomfort, thinking that was the worst of it. However, by the next day, it had become red, swollen, and irritated. Unfortunately, I ended up with a toenail infection from this pedicure. I'm especially frustrated because now I'll need to see a doctor and spend even more money to get this resolved. I spent $145 plus tips for each person that helped me. I'm not sure if the infection was due to unsanitary conditions or if she simply damaged the skin, causing it to get infected. Either way, it's painful to walk and wear shoes. For my eyebrows, I asked for a thick shape with just a clean-up, but instead, I got a thin wax job. When I got home, I noticed stray hairs that I still had to pluck myself. She did a great job on my lip and sideburns, though. For my nails, I had acrylic from a previous visit and went in for a gel overlay. However, Liz misunderstood and assumed I wanted a full set again. She was about to glue another acrylic over the existing one without removing it first. I used to love this place, but after this experience--and the additional cost of a doctor's visit--I'll be avoiding it in the future. Please be cautious if you decide to come here. If the MD says this is a staph infection I may need to report them to the health department to help others and prevent them from exposure. read more

I decided to try out this location since my original tech is across town and I was short on time... I should have listened to my instincts and just waited... I walked in and was greeted by the front desk who was very pleasurable - there was little to no wait while she got the chair ready. The water was pretty cold and when I asked to have it warmer it really wasn't much of a difference. I walked in with gel polish and from the beginning the gentleman I had was very rough, just taking off the polish he had the drill way too high and had already nicked me. At this moment I should have just gotten up and left... the whole time I was just praying for it to be over, I can go into so much detail of what happened but I'll save the horror story. The one thing I will say that I thought was more than unprofessional is that he kept scratching his body and had scabs / wounds and would then touch my feet which at this point had fresh wounds and he did not have gloves on and would not wash his hands throughout... I do have photos of everything but will just put the photos of the finished work... If I come to receive any type of infection I know 100% where it happened... Not only that but they charge an additional $15 for gel when most places are $5-10 extra.. Needless to say it was the most expensive and worst pedicure... no extra services , no nail art ... nothing ... I was originally going to give them two stars because after everything that happened - What seemed to be the owner or manager saw me trying to clean up some of the paint off my feet and asked if I wanted her to clean it up - but at that point I was already frustrated and in pain wanting to get out as quick as I could... but when I sent in my review on the link they sent it said a manager would be reaching out, so I waited to post this review but I have yet to be contacted by anyone and now there is no reason to - I am posting this so that others are aware. read more

Normally, I don't leave reviews, but I felt like I had to share my experience this time. I'm giving Orchid Nail Spa two stars, and the only reason it's not one is because the lady at the front desk was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. This was my first--and will be my only--visit to this salon. I went in for a pedicure, and the nail tech who worked on me was not gentle at all. She started by filling the basin with cold water and assumed I wanted it that way because it was warm outside. I had to politely ask her to turn the temperature up. When she began cutting the skin around my nails, she hurt me on every single toe. Less than 24 hours later, I'm treating my toes with hydrogen peroxide just to prevent an infection. As for the "massage" that was included--she set a timer for five minutes and simply rubbed lotion on my legs and feet. There was absolutely no pressure, no technique, and definitely no real massage. I ended up massaging my own feet while sitting in the chair before paying. I paid $70 to be hurt, made uncomfortable, and given the bare minimum service. This was an unfortunate experience, and I truly hope the salon takes steps to improve. read more

This was my first time coming in and Orchid Nails was AMAZING. Super friendly staff, the man running the front end was super nice and they treated my 6 year old niece really sweet. They let her choose her colors, gave her some pillows since she couldn't reach the water and really tended to her very well. Even added a free flower design! I got a French tip myself by a gentleman with tattoos (don't remember his name unfortunately) and was super satisfied. Great products, left me feeling really soft and hydrated. People saying they don't care for the prices obviously can't see the difference between an average nail salon and somewhere here where they really go above and beyond to take care of you. So I've been to this place many times before, this time I went in just for a pedicure and it was just not a good experience at all. The lady giving the pedicure cut my toe , it was hurting so bad. Then she put some type of liquid on it and it made the pain even worse. Unfortunately I didn't say much I asked her what happen and I couldn't even understand her she was talking so low also with a mask on. This is a place is a RIP OFF!!! And a place where there are unposted policies in order for them to JACK UP CHARGES! When I first went in there in 2022 because I was given their discount gift card, they would not let me use it because it was my first time there ! I told him, but I received this as a gift card. I didn't purchase this!! But I stayed because Andrew did such a great job. This place really sucks since Andrew left. He did my dip powder fills with no problem as did all the 5 star nail salons in Austin. Or actually any place that I have gone in the past six years since I started doing the dip powder. Last time I went in to get a full set- dip powder a few weeks ago. Pretty good job-4 star. The person that worked on me didn't understand a word of English. And she nip me a couple of times. This week I went in for what I had wanted -dip fills and a pedicure. First off the pedicure. I chose a higher dollar one like $65 that included hot stone massage. This person did not even realize that the hot stones do cool off!! he went & got everything he needed, including the stones & paraffin as I was initially soaking. so by the time he got to the stone part of the pedicure they were cold. The nail tech had started on me while i was getting the pedicure. But they had me inundated with what happened next. I didn't complain about him. I had previously picked my gel color, told the manicurist i wanted the same as before, dip fills and gel art as kinda a deep french in the purple gel. Little did I know she spoke not one word of English and didn't understand me either. The pedicurist translated. But he was not there half the time when I instructed her what I wanted. She filed my nails down a little bit. Started drilling near the top to do the fills, grabbed what she needed to do an acrylic fill. I told her NO! I want dip fills! That's when the commotion started. During all that distraction with me talking to the receptionist... she started by telling me that you're not supposed to get dip fills. It's just not done. And I was arguing with her that Andrew would do them but he's not here anymore. And I was telling her how I've always for six years gotten dip fills. She said they do NOT EVER do powder fills. More discussion in sued. I told her I've gotten them there before. They just wanted to charge me for a new set instead of half the price of fills. The pedicure guy gets up and i was distracted. Next thing i know they put my right hand in some warm water. The discussion is going on, and then they switch to my left hand. What I thought was water was warmed acetone. Then I feel that nail tech CUTTING OFF MY NATURAL NAILS on my right hand!! WITHOUT MY PERMISSION - that's assault. She got up n got nail tips- i told her No. STOP! Just paint gel on my nails. Nothing else. Then the manager came over, was talking to me and distracted me again. Tech did not stop. Next thing I knew she is applying powder on my nails and it is not even the same color as my toes! I gave up fighting. I went to the counter to pay. And the manager told me that I looked like I wasn't happy. I told her this is a beautiful job, but this is not what I asked for. And I never will be coming back. She said that she's going to call the owner to see if she can give me a discount. And I told her you know what just check me out and let me get out of here. I told her I will not ever be back and I have a big mouth. No one should be treated like this. At the most they should've charged me for. Removal, and polish. But they charge me $75 for the mess on my fingers. My fingers, ALL OF THEM HURT from her cutting my nails down to the quick!! I have worn my Nails long for 40 years . I just left this place. Let me tell you they are NOT playing around with their customer service. You walk in and the place smells luxurious, not at all like walking into a monomer scented box with nail shavings. Smells like a they know their worth and the prices/services show it. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with an offer of a drink from who I am assuming to be the owner/manager. He had me check in and enjoy some champagne while I waited for a chair, which was all about 2 minutes. Once I was in the chair the water was warm and another glass was on the way. He asked which pedicure I wanted and got me the scent I requested. The workers were professional and courteous, which is more than I can say for the new place next to Albertsons on Zaragoza, but I am not going to waste a sentence on them. I picked out a color, and they got started. The pedicure was $45, and the gel was an additional $15 so it's not your average chop shop, nor should you expect the results to be. Everyone was wearing gloves and I saw them clean after every guest. They are not light on the exfoliation so it's perfect if you are fake tanning after. Your tan will go on so smooth. Andrew was attentive and checked if I wanted the water refilled which was nice. Most places let you stand in the same cold water your whole visit. When people exited they said goodbye to staff by name which is always a good sign, means the staff builds relationships. And that the customers keep coming back. My experience was about an hour and a half total. Which is the perfect amount of time I was looking to kill anyways. Will be back for sure. read more

I went to this place for the first time today and if I could give them no stars I would. I am from Austin and absolutely love the service I receive there but am visiting my parents here and decided to have a relaxing mom/daughter time. Boy was I wrong! To start, I asked for a pedi and mani for my mother and me. I opted for the Relax pedi which is $50 and is supposed to include extras such as choosing your own aromatherapy scent and a 15 min neck massage. During my pedi, which was regular and not gel, they used the machine that weakens and wears down your nail to take off my regular nail polish (the lazy way to do this) and ended up cutting my toe. I asked him not to use the machine any further in the process to which he obliged. Thankfully, the rest of the pedi was fine, definitely mediocre, but fine. After, instead of putting my sandals that I came in with back on for me, (as is custom at literally any place) they slip on the crappy disposable ones and have me move on to my mani. During my mani, I received another very mediocre job. In the mani description it states I should receive a 3 min lotion massage which didn't happen. It's at this point I'm wondering what the hell I'm paying for. So, I bring up the website for this place and sure enough, realize that both my mother and I did not get to pick our aromatherapy scents, and more importantly didn't receive a massage. At this point we had already been at this place for so long that I was frustrated, so I just wanted to leave. I asked the man finishing my mother's pedicure if he could redo my toe that had chipped due to being in the flimsy flip flop they gave me rather than my actual sandals. As he was doing this I told him: "listen you all did not give us the neck massage of this pedicure, nor did I get the small massage during the mani, not to mention the literal cut on my toe, so I don't mind paying, but since I did not get everything that was supposed to be included in the Relax $50, could I just pay for two Signature $35?" Which is really what we got. He then got his manager "Teresa" who could not have been ruder and more unprofessional. I am super non-confrontational and really hate complaining, so I told her what happened very politely and showed her the cut on my toe, to which she laughed and said "well that just happens." Really?! Because I get manis and pedis regularly and have never had that happen. Then, she goes on to say she will not charge us less and it is our fault we didn't get massages because we need to remind them. Sorry, when did I sign up to work here? This was literally my first time stepping into this place, and had I not looked up what all was included in the pedi during my half ass mani, they were just going to charge us for the Relax and let us walk out without getting what we actually paid for. I also mentioned we were not given an aromatherapy option and she said well we're out of all of them so we just gave you olive. Ok, maybe disclose that?? Anyway, during this whole interaction, Teresa did not apologize once, raised her voice at me when I did not do the same, and laughed in my face when I told her "fine I will just pay, but I'll be forced to leave a bad review." She then goes on to each of her colleagues laughing, telling them "oh she's going to leave a bad review" very sarcastically with a fake scared face. None of that was warranted at all, I was as calm as I could have been and still walked out of there paying full price for extremely half ass jobs. I've literally never been treated worse, and Teresa should be ashamed of herself. I hope this place goes under. Cherry on top, the massage chairs here suck. read more

Super expensive! I am referring to a basic nail set and I was quoted $80! Instead decided to get my eyebrows done and I got the cluster lashes. She did ok, better than most other nail salons that do them but I I didn't see much sanitizing or hand washing in between handling money and nails and going to touch faces. I understand it would be a lot of hand washing doing that but if you don't want to wash your hands at least wear gloves. I've been going to Orchid nail spa for the past 3 months because I initially loved the vibe and service. Lately I've been charged an increase on styles I usually get with no real explanation. I've gotten coffin shaped nails multiple times with barely medium length. The base of the nail is a stiletto that is cut down but we are getting charged for extra shaping. I could see if the base nail was rectangle and THEN has to be filed but that is not the case. We were charged $65 dollars for a single color medium length that is closer to short length. No design or extras. Also they are usually overbooked and have issues even if you make and appointment. My main concern is that the prices are different and higher every time no consistency. I really thought this would be my favorite spot but was disappointed as time went on. read more

On Sunday, I visited a local salon to get a gel manicure. However, to my disappointment, the nail polish started to peel off by Tuesday, just two days later. Due to my busy schedule, I was unable to return to the salon until Thursday(today). I decided to go back and have it fixed. To my surprise, the salon charged me $25 to fix their shoddy work. I was taken aback by their audacity to charge me for something that was their mistake in the first place. Although I paid the fee and left, I was disappointed by their lack of accountability and customer service. I wasn't going to argue about it and make such of big deal..... BUT In the future, I will not be returning to this salon. This was my first time getting my pedi at this nails shop with my girlfriend. This place look great and they offer some wine and drinks which is always a plus. I didt realized how busy it was until we got there but the service was great. The person in the front was great, I think his name was John, very helpful on giving us the details of the different type of pedicure. I was very surprise that they have 10 different pedi. We both got the jelly pedi which was great and it come with wax on your feet's for $65. They also offer foot massage and neck massage that come with the machine. Overall the services was great and the ladies that did both our feet was good. Mr John also told me that they also do discount for military on Tuesday.
