Due to the poor care he received he is currently in the hospital. Despite a text from the director on July 11 saying that he would talk to the chef about a low salt diet for Dad, no one spoke with the chef and they kept him on a regular diet. He has congestive heart failure. All of that salt caused an extreme build up of fluid around his lungs, heart and legs. That was what sent him to the ER. The medication list the Landing sent with him to the ER was missing 3 medications, including his diuretic. On his first day at the facility he received none of his medication. He was in memory care at the highest level of care but they wouldn't remind him to wear his compression socks until we got a doctor's order so his legs were very swollen. They seemed to be short staffed and there appeared to be a severe lack of communication between shifts. I would not let the Landing care for my cat much less my father! Please be careful if you are thinking about this place for your loved one. They talk at great game when you are touring it for the first time but once you buy into their sales pitch they don't deliver.

After regular work hours, you may have to wait a good while for someone to let you in, also after hours, they do very little activities and it is quite possible that you will find residents unattended. If anything happens to your loved one, they do not accept any responsibility and will lie about what happened to avoid any blame on themselves. Don't leave anything nice, it WILL come up missing and the clothes will be ruined. I had to throw out almost everything my mother had because it was dingy and had spots in it. Creekside has no problem increasing their rate at any time and as many times as they want in a year. In one year, they increased their monthly rate 3 times with just 1 month notice. The director, Debbie will have you believe there is little to no employee turnover, that is not true and Debbie is away from the office more than she is there. If money is no object, as with other things mentioned here, Creekside is the place for your loved one.

Since I started going to Memorial Hermann clinic in 2013, I realized a great difference in my health and that of my family under the care of Dr. Talati. To make a difference in someone's life. You don't have to be brilliant, rich, beautiful, or perfect. You just have to care. Dr. Talati is devoted to the care of patients and it's because of this virtue that I am awarding her 5 stars for exceling at meeting patient needs, by bringing about some good in the care‐recipients. I also award 5 stars to the Patient Access Representatives like Christiana, Erica, Abigail, just to name few, and doctor Talati's Medical Assistance, Elisa, for their exemplary custom service in servicing our community. Bear with me and read this review all the way to get as full of a picture as I can give about how Dr. Charles Hebenstreit with Memorial Herrmann Hospital System, his staff and contract partners handcuffed my wrists to my ankles, taking hundreds of dollars of my money and gave me nothing in return. In February 2022, at the referral from my psychiatrist made an appointment with Dr. Hebenstreit to be evaluated for sleep apnea. Between my initial appointment, picking up equipment for home sleep study and follow-up for the sleep apnea diagnosis, I paid $325, through Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance. I saw the doctor for a combined 20 minutes, spending more time in the waiting room than in an exam room. I was told briefly and without explanation about the CPAP shortage and that I would be waiting 2-3 months for a machine. I was told the DME company, Arrow Care/Adapt Health would contact me within about a week to give me more details. To make a long story short, over the course of three months, I contacted the DME Co. roughly 12 times and Dr. Herbstreit's office at least 6 times for answers on when I could expect a call back from my service rep and got no answer and no call back. Finally on May 10th, 2022, I was told by Arrow Care/Adapt Health they did not accept my insurance. Once again, no one at Dr. Charles Herbstreit's office could tell me why he accepted my insurance but worked with only one DME that did not accept the same insurance. I am now starting the whole process over with another doctor but there's a good chance I will have to wait another 2-3 months for a CPAP machine since I'll be at the back of the line. My name is David Spires and I now know why Dr. Charles Hebenstreit wears a mask... So he's harder to identify when he robs you of your time and money and gives you nothing in return. In my opinion, unscrupulous, only begins to describe Dr. Charles Hebenstreit with Memorial Herrmann Hospital System

I'd like to add that recently, the owner of the business did contact me regarding this situation,…read moreand was very apologetic. I don't know if the nurse who lied to APS, and tried to tell my husband he wasn't taking his mother, is still under their employment, but the owner did tell me she was very sorry, and upset about the situation. She said she never received our email. I'm certain she would have addressed it at that time, had she received the email. In all fairness, she too was duped by my husband's brother. Yelp keeps trying to remove my review of this business. My mother in law has full on set dementia and cannot speak for herself. If they keep removing this, I'll have her POA, my husband write the review. I suspect the owners have reported my review for the second time. Instead of responding and apologizing, they are trying to hide what their negligence. That's really pathetic. They were contacted by us and never responded so I started writing reviews. How they can say that this company didn't affect me is simply not true. Their lies, and not caring properly for my MIL made it so we had to endure a lot of heartache. I'm writing it again. I'd give this company zero stars if I could. Stay away from this agency. My husband has POA of his mother. His brother moved in after their father died, and my husband and I noticed his mother deteriorating more and more. We made the move to get her away from his brother. His brother threatened my husband and me if he tried to move their mom into a facility specializing in dementia care. My husband was named POA, and also has durable POA, medical POA etc. The brother used cursing, intimidation, and threats against my husband and me . The brother refused to get in home 24 hour care, or a house cleaner after many requests from my husband. She was being over medicated and had body odor. After my husband's brother threatened to hit him if he showed up, an attorney advised him to get a police escort to get his mom. My husband and I showed up with an Alvin police officer and there was a home health care worker from this company there. She told us that we were not taking his mother anywhere! Yes, this is while the police woman was standing there. My husband told her this didn't concern her. She called her boss to see if it was ok. Unbelievable. 3 days after rescuing my mother in law, she became very ill and was taken by ambulance to the medical center where she was diagnosed with impacted bowels and a terrible UTI. She was septic and almost died. She was in the hospital a week. Under the wonderful care at Autumn Grove, she flourished and celebrated her 95th birthday there. The brother was upset because he saw his inheritance dwindling as she got healthier and stronger and he saw "his" money being spent on her care. Once my husband and I got back in the house, the filth and odor were deplorable. There was feces on her carpet in her bedroom. The bathrooms were covered in black mold and mildew and the dust and spider webs were thick throughout the home. We all had to wear masks to enter the house. Later, my husband and I were accused of exploiting his mom by APS. We knew immediately his brother did it. It was accusations regarding money. When the case worker was interviewing us she said she called House Calls and they told her the home was in good condition. So, they lied to APS, probably to cover themselves. We took extensive videos of the condition of the home which showed the incredible filth, feces, mold, mildew etc...We were found to be innocent of exploitation, of course, because the brother lied to them about everything. Do NOT trust this company. They are bad. My mother-in-law almost died under their care, and they are liars.

And I have experience with other assisted livings and Colonial Oaks is by far the most caring I've found. The staff genuinely care. And that's hard to find. And my friend who is the resident has never liked previous assisted livings. And she has no complaints about Colonial Oaks. That says it all. Make sure and check them out if you have need for an assisted living facility. From the front desk staff to executive leadership, they are kind and caring, just the way you would expect people who work at a senior care facility to be.

It always took at least over 2 hours or more before anyone would respond & they seemed more concerned in turning the alarm off on the pendant when they came in the room, than finding out what my grandfather needed. The food portions were quite small and if he wanted seconds, it was denied as he was always told there was no more food left. If he wanted food after meals, he was required to keep snacks to eat from what family brought in or what he could buy if they ever went to the grocery store. The trips outside the facility were frequently canceled that were suppose to allow residents to go shopping for groceries or personal items or even go to a restaurant but the one van they had available was broken so often that inevitably the trip would not occur. The main occupation was Bingo, & it had no real outside grounds to walk around. The little central outdoor courtyard they have, did not have any lounge chairs set out or any outdoor activities scheduled there. The cable provided was quite basic with very limited selection, and my grandfather had no ability to fast forward past commercials, or to record any programs as it was not standard at Colonial Oaks at Pearland. If you wanted that kind of service for your TV, you were expected to not only pay for the exorbitant Assisted Living fee but also pay for a separate TV subscription out of you own pocket (essentially paying twice for the cable service)!! The cost charged at Colonial Oaks at Pearland is quite pricey for a place that seems altogether understaffed or at least with a staff that does not seem highly motivated. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your loved ones if you seek attentive care.
