We hope to bring kids back to the daycare when schools reopen.

Our daughter Kaia started with Samantha as a little toddler, and from day one, we knew we found something special. The amount of care, intention, and heart she pours into the kids is rare. The home-cooked meals alone are incredible (meals I wish someone cooked for me), but it is so much more than that. There is structure, fun, learning, outdoor time, music, a jumpee, arts and crafts, everything a child needs to grow, explore, and feel safe. When we first started, there was a mutual trial period and we were a little weirded out by it, but now we totally get it, Samantha makes sure it's a great fit for her as well as for you, as a parent. The result is a group of very well adjusted kids, parents who care and are invested in their kid's development, and a group of kids that care for each other. Samantha communicates, sets clear expectations, and makes parents feel at ease. Even on days when drop-off was tough, Kaia ran into her arms like she was going to see family. ZERO STAR STORY -…read more I'm writing this review specifically to warn parents of young children who are considering Kiddie Academy for transportation to and from school. My 4-year-old daughter attended Kiddie Academy for only ONE WEEK, and that one week was enough for me to pull her out. Kiddie Academy was responsible for transporting her to her TK class in the morning and picking her up afterward. I never had concerns with afternoon pickup, but the morning transportation was a completely different story. On her very first day, there was confusion about which school she attended, despite all of her paperwork clearly stating the correct school. Throughout that week, she was also arriving at school 10-15 minutes late. The final straw was when Ms. Mel casually informed me, "We got in trouble this morning because they found your daughter wandering the school campus by herself before she made it to class." When I questioned how that could happen, the explanation I was given was, "We told her to get in line." Ms. Mel also explained that their bus drivers are unable to get off the bus to help young children get to their classes. She is FOUR YEARS OLD. If your transportation policy does not allow your driver to get off the bus, then there should be another procedure in place to ensure a four-year-old is safely transferred into the supervision of school staff. Telling a four-year-old to "get in line" and driving away without confirming that she safely made it where she needed to go was completely unacceptable to me. I pulled her out immediately because I no longer trusted Kiddie Academy to transport her safely. When I raised my concerns with Ms. Nickole, I was also extremely disappointed with how the situation was handled and felt the response and apology were unprofessional and dismissive given the seriousness of what happened. I'm sharing this because other parents deserve to know about my experience before trusting this facility with transportation. My daughter was there for only one week, and that was one week too long. I would never recommend Kiddie Academy to anyone I love or care about, especially if you are relying on them to safely transport a young child. Response to owner: I want to clarify that the complaint being closed as "unsubstantiated" does not change what occurred. That is exactly why I question whether the lack of documentation is designed to protect the children or protect the business. A four-year-old being found wandering a school campus unattended after transportation should have warranted formal documentation and immediate notification to the parent--not a casual comment later. Your response also suggests that young children benefit from "fewer transitions." Kiddie Academy offers transportation to young children. If your transportation procedures cannot safely accommodate a four-year-old, then that service should not be offered to children that age. Responsibility should not be shifted onto parents for utilizing a service your business provides. A licensing investigation resulting in no citation does not erase what happened or what was communicated to me by Kiddie Academy staff. Parents can read both sides and decide for themselves whether this is the level of supervision and accountability they are comfortable with for their child.

Before touring any daycare systems, I was very hesitant to take such a young infant to a school/daycare. I had toured other schools in the area and met with in-home nannies. It wasn't until I met with Ms. Zerghon for a tour that I finally found a place where I knew my baby would be safe. Zerghon met me with warm and open arms, explained the Montessori theory, and even allowed my daughter and me to stay for an hour after we toured as we can familiarize ourselves for a bit. Both of my children stayed with Zerhgon's daycare throughout the pandemic until they could enroll in a formal TK system, for a total of est 3 1/2 years. Ms. Zerghon is kind, warm, and nurturing, and has treated both of my daughters and the other children like family! Not only do I know that my children are treated like family and well fed with warm homemade meals, but they have also learned so much! Both of them, by age 3, could write their names, write their alphabet, and do basic arithmetic! They were over-qualified for TK, in my humble opinion. I cannot express the gratitude I have for the loving care and teachings Ms. Zerghon has bestowed on my children. She is one of the sweetest, brightest, most caring teachers out there and we need more of her in the world. My children are 5 and 6 now and still talk about their fond memories at Zerghon's Daycare. I found Zerghon's daycare after interviewing several other providers. I was impressed with the Yelp…read morereviews and the overall structure of the program she offers. We agreed that my son would start right after his first birthday and I was very excited and hopeful that we would be a good fit. My son was born during a pandemic and has some anxiety being away from mom for too long because he's so used to being at home...but he generally does well. On his first day, he did relatively well and I got photos of him engaging with the other kids and napping. On his second day, after being there for an hour, I got a call to pick my son up because he was crying. The assistant said they checked him for fever and that he was fine but then went on to say that they just didn't think he was a good fit for the program. She then proceeded to say that my application was cancelled and wanted to know if I wanted my payment back in cash or money order. No plan to work with him to help him transition, no concern for if there was an underlying issue, no nothing. Just come get your baby and don't bring him back because he is crying. I'm just so disappointed, hurt and offended at the idea that a 12 month old baby gets kicked out of daycare on his second day for crying for an hr. Especially when Zerghon herself told me how other kids in the program had hard transitions and ended up working out over time! I mean, isn't that a typical process for babies? What makes my baby different? I can't help but think there is other motivating factors at play here. My baby fell asleep in the car while we were driving home by the way. He was crying because he was tired.
