Now it's a good time to pick strawberries, raspberry, blueberries, peas, and corns. There are wagons to take ppl from one field to another. We got off at the strawberry field, but we don't really into the strawberry, so just took a look; then we got to the raspberry field, they looked good, but we barely eat raspberry; then we went to the Blueberry field, our destination was here. We saw another side of the field was having big blueberries, but they didn't open that side to us. And they said it was noon already, most of the big ones had been picked. I tasted a few, they were sort of big, but soured. We moved to other sides, but still the same. When we went home, most of them we made smoothies with honey. We also went to the peas field, not too many people. The peas were so sweet that we could eat them raw. But we went home to boil them with the skin, the skin was hard to eat, it was not snow peas, and too expensive when weighed with the skin. Good experience for the kids. They were happy.

The blueberries were plentiful but small and not that sweet. However the strawberries were so juicy and delicious. You pay $9 per person (6 and under are free), then after you pick, you show your receipt and they deduct what you paid. So as long as you pick at least $9 worth, there's technically no entry fee. We somehow managed to pick under and was asked if we wanted to go back and pick more but was too lazy to. There are 2 different tractors that take you - one to the blueberries. The other to the apples, sweet corn, raspberries, strawberries. There weren't many raspberries to pick, and no one else was there probably for that reason. You can bring your own baskets, otherwise they have plenty and you can pay for them. The tractor wagon ride was very long and enjoyable for kids. They have a little playground area and lots of picnic tables. We tried the apple cinnamon froyo which was one of the flavours (the other ones were rasberry and blueberry). The apple cinnamon flavour was unlike anything i have ever tasted. A bit sour, very cinnamony, and sweet. It tasted like apple pie in a froyo. Overall it was great value!

The opal plums were some of the most delicious I have ever had, and the peaches did not disappoint either. The market also sells wild blueberries at about $9 a pint and I would say this is worth a try if you are visiting the region for the first time! One thing to note is that the fruit tastes so good because it is sold rather ripe, and so I would not really recommend buying more than what you can eat in 3-4 days! Aside from the fruit, the market carries your typical variety of jams, preserves, and baked goods. We tried the Toblerone shortbread cookies and they were absolutely delicious and addictive!

I picked up a dozen duck eggs, a giant mason jar of maple syrup, elk jerky and bacon and was amazed at how good everything was. Ended up grabbing a few bags of chips, along with other snack items. I also grabbed an incredible freshly baked croissant from the bakery next door, so good!! Could have spent a lot more time in here browsing/drooling but alas the lake (and my trunk full of booze!) were calling! Until next time!

Bests: Gigantic Jars of honey for $9, Braided Garlic (14 Organic Cloves for $25), Bags of Beets Carrots etc for $4-5 a bag. Really Nice looking Quiches and the Hempola Farms products. Surprisingly, a Chinese run booth had dumplings cooking all day and I had takeaway rice and Chana Masala that wasn't bad for $5. Frank (Frankie Flowers of Breakfast Television fame) was there shopping with his family too, he lives in the area. Really Nice Produce, Ample Parking if you have to drive. Decent prices. Barrie's Farmers market is held at City Hall.

We got NY strip loin beef steaks, a Ribeye bison steak and a lamb steak. The lamb steak was ok, but the bison and beef steaks were not cut properly and were quite chewy. Considering that the prices for everything in store are 50% more than in regular supermarket (see prices for steaks at the picture), we were clearly disappointed with our visit.
