Love this little quirky pocket of creativity in Kensington Market. Great for quirky and unique gifts.

Stopped into this shop while wondering through Kensington Market, and was pleasantly surprised by great atmosphere. The art pieces hanging throughout the establishment gave off incredible energy. I purchased a few printed art pieces as gifts for some of my artsy friends. (They loved them.) The owners of the shop were also great. We chatted about their life experiences, art pieces, and spirituality. I thoroughly enjoyed conversation, and will be back to purchase more pieces. read more

How did I find this GEM? Ask the universe. How have I not seen this 14 yr old shop in the heart of Kensington Market until today....I am not sure. But I feel very good about having discovered it. Leo, the artist and owner creates his very spiritual art that not only is for the aesthetic value but it is designed with a purpose, to open your consciousness and possibly heal or help allow for personal transformation. Leo uses combinations of old pieces like window frames together with his paintings / drawings / 3D / and whatever he feels sends the universal message the best....Transformation and energy are key. He also uses giant crystals, Plates, Cards, Furniture, and many other kinds of canvases. I highly recommend visiting this GEM :) read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! ! Been wanting to write this review for ever because i feel these guys deserve more recognition, so i finally signed up for Yelp! hehe. This store is an oasis tucked inside the belly of Kensington market. Amongst the bustle of the shops, under the nose of many a market goer, Orbital arts sits patiently and holds a peaceful space. Upon entering, you can feel a shift from the intensity of the city. Always greeted with smiles and bright eyes, Joe and Leo echo the ambiance of their mixed media artwork. Hanging the walls and adorning the antique furniture, the Splashes of colour, and geometrical designs keep the focus of the viewer while inter-dimensional compositions and sacred geometrical designs set the tone of the work. From Darth Vader to Jesus there is a plethora of meanings, visuals, and themes to explore, and no one is the same. Truly in-spirited art! If you're looking for a meaningful gift at any price range, this is your spot. I have been fortunate to get know Joe and Leo by visiting their shop over the years, and every piece I have purchased has left it's mark and meaning on the hearts of those who have received the gift. Orbital Arts is a fantastic art gallery located in Kensington market. They are vendors of out of the ordinary art, furniture, keepsakes, and jewellery. Themes of spiritualism, symbolism and self awareness permeate the work. I have purchased several pieces from this gallery. The owners are delightful and obliging. They take the time to explain to you the various symbols that they utilized and the significance and meaning of each piece. This body of work is very thought provoking. As I understand, two full time artists and one jewellery maker contribute to the wares available in this adorable and wonderous little shop. The work is multimedia in nature. For example, old windows may be refashioned into frames, discarded furniture is rescued and turned into gorgeous centerpieces. Holographs, collages, decoupage, computer generated graphics, and delicate handpainting are all among the techniques employed by the artists. Influences come from a wide range of energetic, spiritual, and metaphysical teachings including Ancient Greek, Hindu, and Buddhist in origin. The resulting images are always highly positive in nature. This store is an excellent resource for one-of-a-kind gifts, works of art, and things of beauty. Prices range from $15 to $1000s, depending on the piece and medium. Not to be passed up. This is truly one of the best finds in the city and I wish the owners every success. read more

I met these guys 18 years ago. I borrowed a hammer from them to hang pictures in a new apartment. When I returned I bought some art for my new place. I have been buying from them for myself and gifts ever since. Its a very friendly nice space and calm space to visit. Leo's work is very unique and inspiring. Definitely highly recommended as part of any Kensington tour. read more
