On many an occasion I have still been getting ready when the taxi has arrived because I didn't think they were speaking literally when they said they were only going to be five mins! All of the drivers I have ever had have been really nice. They have a chat with you but they are not pervy. They make you feel comfortable and they know all the routes in Bolton very well. I began to lose hope that Bolton could deliver a reliable taxi service after Orbit Taxis really did knock my faith, but Hastings won it back for me. I received a call to confirm my booking from a really friendly man, he told me where my vehicle was and described the car for me, meaning I could find it with ease. The taxi driver didn't talk to me for the entire journey, I don't mind this as it allows me to sit back, relax and play music, but I would have liked him to just confirm where I was going as the taxi was arranged by Northern Rail. The taxi was clean, comfortable and the driver took the quickest route, straight on the motorway and back to Manchester in no time! 4* - I was pleased with Hastings overall, I even received a follow-up call to check I'd arrived fine and he sent me their website so I can use them again, which I'm sure I will do if I ever need a taxi in Bolton!

The ticket machine that accepts notes wasn't working and I only had two crisp ten pound notes. Plus my friend had already bought a ticket - bummer. Also, we weren't sure which was the last tram going in to Manchester. 2. A boy (he shall remain nameless) was relieving himself in the station and shouting out my friend's name. Acquaintances from a long gone era, you see. He had had way too much to drink and demonstrated this by practically concussing himself on the broken ticket machine and dropping all his belongings. So, we literally ran round the corner to Prestwich Cars to order a cab. To get out of there. It was only around £8 anyway so if my friend hadn't bought her tram ticket first it would have been much more cost efficient. Plus the driver turned a blind eye as we drank our 'blackcurrant' from an Evian bottle.

Is a shortcut a longer route around because of an inability to stop in traffic lights? It's not a shortcut, it's impatience. Traffic and traffic lights go hand in hand with town. Don't hit the empty back streets and open ring roads and give the impression that it's a shortcut. hmm. Forgiven for now. What I don't understand about many of Manchester's taxis is that they don't know where a lot of my destinations are. When I'm a little sketchy I expect the taxi driver, the authority behind the wheel to fill in the gaps. Often it's a case of guessing games, more so this time than ever. I don't know, is it to too much to expect? We paid £9 driving around Manchester city centre which was a usual £5 fare. And we never made it to the Star and Garter. Was it that difficult? So change of night and venue due to this taxi driver, hardly impressive. Northern Quarter again we find ourselves, not really questioning the failure of the taxi driver or the fare. They've never let me down! Their prices seem to me to be quite competitive, although I'm not really an expert on taxi fares in Bolton. The drivers tend to vary in friendliness; some are quite chatty whilst others seem to be the strong silent types. But I can put up with some variation here if they turn up on time and take you safely to where you want to go. All in all: I'd certainly use these people again.

I had to tell him to be quiet and warned I would be reporting him. He even yelled at me, whne I asked if he was new and said he knew h area well - obviously not as he didn't pick up from the right place and then overshot my destination by 2 roads!!
